I think if Armando wasnt so hung up on not doing the story he wanted and leaned into the lost dog suspense film it could have been even more epic. I actually felt Dylan's film kind of lacked story or substance. Maybe if he included a little more from the beginning of showing that hes a photographer to build up to that moment of taking the sunset shot it would have connnected better and had more continuity. I actually really thought Matt did a great job with his story but yeah - the shoot just fell apart with the time management. Fritz's dog shots were just gorgeous, but the concept was half-baked and it showed. Takes some cajones to just approach some randos and convince them to let you shoot them though. This show is such a fun concept, and even though these are just contrived challenges - i think it really does a good job of showing the thought behind the creative process and how we all approach it different. Armando with emotion, Dylan with logistics and management, Matt with story, and Fritz looking outward and letting that drive the narrative.

I'm rather confused about who's filming. Some are using other cinematographers' footage as to what goes into the final work. Maybe the challenges were unrealistic?

Agreed, seems like 80% of Dylan's film is someone filming him. When he's walking out of that store, when he gets into the car, when the car races down the road, when he gets out of the car, when he's walking towards the lake the camera is beautifully tracking him on both the profile shot and from behind, when he's skipping the rock, putting on the headlamp, setting up the camera? Seems like the person that filmed Dylan should of got an award for cinematography. I'm not saying Dylan isn't talented, his first video rocked but just seems unfair when Matt and Mondo looked like they shot everything themselves. Even Fritz's footage seemed recycled BTS that we shot from a crew member. They honestly should have been disqualified or got points deducted.

@@mikefisher608 Fair point Mike! To clarify, yes I did have my bts camera operator operate the gimbal in a few shots for this challenge. Walking out of the store, the side tracking shot with the sunburst, and the headlamp and tripod setup shots (couldn't film myself using a camera with my own camera). The car driving past shot I wasn't driving, I was filming, and for the rock skip shot, I filmed a static plate of myself out on the point (camera was on top of our car for extra height), and then I filmed a gimbal dolly in shot without me there, then later in After Effects, I composited the two to make it look like I was in the dolly shot. Hope that clarifies a little!

All of my footage was 100% shot by me, I asked if I could have my BTS shooter help me film some stuff and they told me NO. 🙃 If I would have been able to use my BTS shooter to get dynamic shots like others did I can assure you I would have gotten some epic shots that I had in mind when I was on location. So I did everything myself which was very difficult to do especially when you're hiking a mountain and also changing your whole strategy since the sun was gone when I arrived.

I wish they would have given you guys more context as to what happened, I didn't submit a photo because it was impossible. When I got to location the sun was gone, there was nothing I could have done. So being penalized on something out of my control did sting a little but I appreciate your remarks on my color grade as I do pride myself on that so thank you!

Very cool work. The two that rise to the top for me were from Armando and Dylan. Armando came up with something on the fly that worked rather well, despite not being the story he wanted to tell. In both episodes, he seems to get stuck on something that went wrong that might inadvertently be holding him back (the wrong lens, a new theme, etc). He's clearly capable of dealing with bumps in the road so I'm wondering if some of that negativity is inadvertently sabotaging his work. Eg. Why didn't he submit a photo? Dylan tends to have a strong vision from the get-go that comes through in all of his work, which is why I think he's been killin' the competition thus far. He seems to know very quickly what he wants to capture, how to capture it, and when to capture it. Waiting for the right hour for the light to be perfect, storyboarding the scene out, mixing up different kinds of shots (like that rope shot), it's been real nice to watch his process. Fritz can get good shots, but seems to have difficulties with the overall flow / storytelling. And Matt could have had something nice if he left a bit earlier.

Appreciate the kind words, I didn't submit a photo because when I got to location the sun was gone. Unfortunately that was out of my control and got penalized for it, I made a whole video about it on my channel if you want to know more in depth as to what happened.

I have seen episode 1 and 2, and I think that it is a brilliant idea of Panasonic in order to make the people know what the Lumix cameras are capable of. Very interesting to see the videographers/photographers struggling with the tasks and how they try to push their creativity under difficult circumstances. Some of them are really inspiring. It would be very interesting for us, Lumix users, if they would just mention a little but about the specs that they use in certain situations. But maybe the episodes would lose a bit the dinamic vibe...

When shooting in 4K at 30 or 50/60 FPS, the autofocus functions seamlessly on my Lumix S5iix. However, when I switch to 1080p at 50 or 60 FPS, the autofocus performance diminishes. Since I prefer using 1080p at 50 FPS for its lack of crop, this issue is quite frustrating. Could you please assist in resolving this issue or make a firmware
