CRTL-Z (or CMD-Z on MAC) :) Hmmmmmm, so cool. Neo is back to this millennium. This is awesome news. Just installed the update but won't have a chance to play until later tonight. But your great video is certainly a noticed teaser. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hello Jim. Can you ask Luminar devs to improve masking a bit. It is pretty much 2008 LR masking. Anyway because of your Luminar videos I became proficient in all other editing programs. I consider you my teacher. God bless and thank you for all your heartfelt work.

Thank you for watching Edmond and I am hopeful that they add more capability to the masking. thanks!
Thanks for letting us know about the update, Jim! I just updated. To be honest, though, this is such a basic function for photo processing software. I don't understand why it's taken this long for Luminar to finally give us this function. I know they don't have the best conditions there, but still.
@JimNix

Thanks Geoff and yes this is a simple thing, but all things considered it's nice to have and of course I have no idea how their development pipeline works in terms of feature timing, etc. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video Jim. Multiple levels of undo sounds like a basic functionality of any advanced photo editing software, but there might have been something with the Edits tab that made it more difficult to implement initially.

I don’t know why it wasn’t there to begin with, it’s a major function of any and all editing software, it’s a necessity. I honestly hate the way devs, and I’m particular Skylum remove basic things on each ‘new’ software they release and then people laud them for ‘major updates’ which puts these basic features back in. Baffling that people are still wowing over the amount of updates, updates that wouldn’t have been necessary if the basic stuff was included anyway.
@JimNix
Жыл бұрын
@@WanderFeetChronicles I get that. It is a basic thing, but it's great to have finally. I can't pretend to understand software development cycles and when/why/how features get added - I'm just glad to have them. Especially considering their country has been at war for a year, it's just great to see them continuing to add stuff.
Actually a nice update! Specifically when I tried it out with the erase function and the clone and stamp function. Previously I had to continually close and open the erase function for each edit I made on a photo, in case I made a mistake and didn't want to lose my work. Only "complaint" I have, is the requirement to memorize yet another keyboard command. While it's quick and easy, it's just another thing I have to memorize among all of my other software. A simple "Step Undo" and "Step Redo" button on the menu bar would be a nice addition. Thanks for your videos!

This shouldn't be hard to remember, as Cmd-Z / Ctrl-Z has been the Undo command since the dawn of time! However, I'll admit that "Cmd-Shift-Z" is not as well known.

so far no mention of Windows but the usual Ctrl + z to undo and Ctrl + y to redo as is the case with all windows based software programs that I have used over 28 years so nice and simple.

Hi Jim thx for the videos you are great teacher. How I can do if I want to save those changes to the original RAW file because I think the Luminar Neo is a non destructible program so all the changes that he made is only save on the catalog suppose that I have 300 images after I made some development with Luminar Neo and export to JPGs for a friend, that takes forever very long time to do it, is normal? when I do the same in Lightroom it is faster. Txh so much!!
Hi Jim. Looks like with this latest update, a "history" function would be a relatively simple thing to implement. But even this is helpful. Thanks!

Oh I would love to see them bring in an history function like in Photoshop
A bit better than what we had, but IMHO it would be nice to have a checkpoint function where you could record a particular stage of your overall edit and then allow you to experiment with additional edits without having to undo them one by one. Tell V I am still looking for a transaction log ; )

Another thing that would be nice is the ability to create virtual copies. Edit to a point, create a virtual copy (or two) and go in different directions without losing the original edits. At the moment you need to get to a point, save the file and then edit the new file.
@JimNix
Жыл бұрын
@@brucecampbell4485 yes that would be a nice thing to have as well. I will often duplicate the file before editing, and you can sync edits between files too. So you can kinda do this already although not in the same way you are describing.

I am still waiting for ALL of the editing options to be available from the Luminar Neo extension within Photos on a Mac. For instance, HDR Merge is not in the extension. To use all editing tools I must move my photos to Luminar Neo stand-alone.

Getting closer to version 2.0. Any idea of whether or not that will require a new fee?
@JimNix

I have not heard anything about a new version yet. Generally speaking though new full versions are a paid upgrade. Unless you are on subscription of course. We will see what happens.
On lightroom/ACR you can set default profile as "Camera Settings" for raw files, so whenever you import them comara picture system used gets apply to the raw instaead of standard Adobe Color profile. How to achieve same in Luminar Neo?

Hi Jim, I have now created some of my own presets for Luminar Neo, plus other presets that I did not get directly from Luminar Market. All these presets can be found in Luminar Neo under "My Presets". Since this list is getting longer and longer and has a long loading time, I would like to know if it is possible to group these presets in some way. Furthermore, I would like to know how to create a preset collection. Not because I want to sell something, but because I hope that I can then possibly copy or import them into the Custom Preset folder. Probably a difficult topic, but I think I'm not the only one interested in this. Kind regards from Germany, Andreas
@JimNix
Жыл бұрын
Hi Andreas and thanks for watching. I do not know of any way to group presets, other than to compile them into a pack, which is done in a separate app. Skylum has not released that app publicly. I do hope they build this into the product in the future to make it easy for anyone/everyone to do this. I will add this to the list of things I talk to them about. Thanks!

I agree. The updates are extremely slow. And backup almost always fails on my PC. They have a lot of things to improve, stability on the top of the list. However, they made a lot of improvements recently.
I installed the 1.9 update 3 days ago and when I tried to use it the splash screen started, and then the program crashed. This has been the outcome every time I tried to use it. Support tried to help and I finally tried to just delete NEO and start all over. I tried three different uninstallers and I can't get rid of it. Needless to say I am not too pleased with NEO now. I just want to get rid of the over five GB of CRAP.

Darlene does mention a few other things some which might appear to be an issue -- ie. once the image is left to edit another, one can't go back to the initial edit nor if a copy has been created can either have available the undo function on current (new) of past edits if my memory does not fail me.
