    Well, depends on how blurry. You can try Supersharp but otherwise you might be out of luck.

    Hi, I love your videos, and find them most helpful I wondered if you could help. I recently took some portraits against a green screen, thinking I would replace the background in post edit. I have done everything that people say to do on youtube to remove the background, but end up with a green haze around parts of the shot. I have used transition, object and background, but will not work. I have managed to get rid of the haze by using the clone tool, but this really is not satisfactory, and I am sure there must be a better way. Any ideas.....HELP! Thanks Jim in the UK

    I just purchased On1 and got rid of my Adobe subscription. I'm a casual photography hobbyist and On1 seems perfect for my needs. I don't want to be trapped in a subscription plan and I don't like how adobe tries to fool their customers in obscuring how to end their subscription. Just want a honest product I can purchase and work with and it seems that On1 Photo Raw ticks all the boxes I need. Thank you for this nice overview of On1.

    Great video as always. How do you set up the camera to take a-5,-3 and a-1 automatically with the bracket feature in camera

  • @JimNix
    @JimNix11 күн бұрын

    Thanks and that will vary by camera, so it's best to Google yours. But for my Sony, I set up Auto Exposure Bracketing in one of the menus, turn it on in my Drive Mode selector, and then I use the Exposure Compensation dial to pick the -5 starting point. It's all really quick.

    Jim like your results. Is Luminar Neo nondestructive.?

    Again, another excellent walkthru (tho a little finicky in some of the adjustments) of your work flow. Thanks for the detailed explanation, especially of the use of midtone luminosity masking. HOWEVER - in the thumbnail for the video, I'm seeing significant haloing in the pic of the lone scraggly tree with the blue/purple sky background. ?Your comments/suggestions?

  • @JimNix
    @JimNix11 күн бұрын

    Hi there and not sure what you mean by finicky in some of the adjustments? Re: the tree, yes for my thumbnails I tend to boost contrast a little more than normal to make them stand out a little more. But that's just for the thumbnail. Thanks.

    I want an option that when I "export (In NEO or any non-destructive editor), it keeps the date, time, exif data from the original image. It seems such a problem to me it makes it like a NEW IMAGE... but it isn't. Am I the only one that HATES this problem? How are you supposed to deal with say editing a 5 year old image and it wants to try saying this is a new image? Thanks!

  • @JimNix

    Hmm, I do believe there will be adjustments to the Catalog in Luminar at some point, so perhaps they will address this then. Otherwise I am not sure.

    Does this app require tons of computing power? I just bought it (thanks to this video) for my MacBook Air M2, 16GM, 1TB -- and doing any type of masking is like watching paint dry. It is so slow, takes about 5-10 seconds to catch up when "painting" in the mask. The app regularly becomes quickly unresponsive for 10-30 seconds at a time. As it is, ON1 is unusable for me. I went into the settings and selected using the M2 engine and forced CPU to "turbo", still same issue.

    Something is not right, it runs fine on 2021iMac M1, 16GB, 512GB. Might want to hold down shift-key when starting the program and select Reset.

    Thanks Jim, I am learning from your tutorials with great enthusiasm. And indeed, I consider my self as a total beginner editing raw files in general. One of the reasons I bought Luminar Neo was exactly the masking features. Around 1:57 and 2:00 you are mentioning that cannot mask raw file in in Delevop raw? Could you please comment on this? I just have the raw file out from camera and opening it in Luminar Neo... Also, what material would you recommend me to study in order to get an understanding in the very basic steps of raw development in Luminar Neo. Thanks again, have a good day!

    Thank You for your awesome tutorial Jim! I currently have standalone ON1 Photo Raw 2023 w/ bundle. I downloaded the trial version of 2024.5 due to hearing that iPhone 13 Pro ProRaw DNG files can be used in this new version. I can import them in ON1 as a DNG from Apple Photos but upon importing, they're converted into a jpeg instead of remaining in the DNG RAW file. Do you have any insight on this? Thanks again, appreciate all your hard work!
