I've had this table saw for just over 8 months and it's excellent. Personally, I use Diablo Saw Blades because of their quality of cut and durability. The only 'niggles' I've had with the Table Saw are the overly large, stock, Blade guard (easily replaced) and the baffling duel measurement ports - one of which I did as suggested by another YT channel and covered up. I'd highly recommend this Table Saw to anyone looking for accuracy, reliability and durability. PS. Get yourself a Diesel Heater for your workshop - cheap to run and provide a huge amount of heat for the price. You can buy them on Amazon or eBay for as little as £70 and they're all pretty much the same. Watch a few YT vids on how to improve, set up and maintain (which is no big deal) and the job will be a good 'un.

Awesome review of the saw. I like how you answered questions that people have been asking you and threw in a few clips.

Thanks for you review really helped. Managed to haggle one for £300 so thought it was more than worth it based on your video. A good accompanying vid would be your dust extractor as that's what immediately started looking into after purchasing this.

Hi Sean I was just wondering is there anyway the fence rail could be shortened buy only fitting the larger piece of the fence rail and leaving out the peace to give you a a smaller footprint

Thanks Shaun for both great reviews. I cannot find anywhere info if the saw is attached to the cabinet or to the table so please advise. Also does the blade stay aligned to mitre slots when tilted to 45 degrees? I am also a bit concerned about blade speed 2800 rpm. Do you not find it too low? Thanks

Saw stays alligned at 45 degrees fine. The speed i have had no issues with even with very dense walnut i have lying around. From memory the sawy is mounted to the cast iron top and you fit the shell around it .

Good to see your photo on the Lumberjack stand today @ Makers lol! I was like "eh? Oh! I watched his video last night!" lol

I think it’s perfect for a single garage. The movability of the saw is great, pop the self contained wheels and slide out the way like it’s a bag of feathers, and move back as needed. I kept showing that to people at makers and they hadn’t reAlised. If you go ahead If you go ahead I have a 10% code Shaunshed10 on the LJ website

Good video. I can't wait to get my own, I keep checking the website but they are not in stock. I have called them and fingers crossed I can get one in the New few weeks.

Ian apologies i thought i had responded. There is a gravity 4inch hole in the bottom that you can attach a hose too that pulls all through the machine. Nothing on the crown though.

Thanks for the review. Can the wider wing be mounted on the left rather than the right? That'd fit into my workshop a lot better

the saw weighs approx 120 KG so a few kilos more then me. If you were to put on a wooden floor i would add some strengthening to it.

Great reviews on this saw Shaun, I'm contemplating getting one as an upgrade to my DeWalt, but just wanted to ask if you get much arbour wobble with the lumberjack? If i put a 2.8 kerf freud in my dewalt I get a cut kerf of 3mm its not much wobble, but enough to chip the edge on melamine faced boards

its between 15.8 mm i have a 30 mm blade with a reducer ring from toolstation/screwfix

Hi Shaun, I have just bought this. I am having trouble with assembly of the rails. The table extensions are slightly bigger than the cast iron bed, so when I fit the front and back rails, there is a slight gap between the cast iron and the rails, about 1mm - 2mm. I can't tighten the rail bolts that are connected to the cast iron part of the tsble for fear of distorting the rails. Is this something that you encountered, or have I been unlucky?

Hi Shaun. Just took delivery of my saw this week. Put it together much like you. A couple of hours. Those two nuts at the back holding the rail. Yep rather fiddly. But done. I am going to have to make my own side extensions as the ones I got in the box are almost two millimeters over length. This disturbs me. So I will make my own which I would have done regardless as I want to fit a router into extension. I would have liked the main bed to be flat as flat can be but I will accept what I have. Not great but I will deal with it. The throat plate is being replaced asap. Haven't had time to see what design it needs but the original is way too flimsy for my taste. I also seem to be used to my saw blades stopping much faster than the ts1800. Maybe I am missing something but I thought they had to stop spinning with X amount of seconds? Tomorrow I will do some heavy cuts and fine tuning. Can't wait to see how it performs.

Happy Cutting, my throat plate isn't flimsy at all. The inserts i have made well thats another story for now. I have a router table i had intended to fit in the right hand wing but i've fell out with the router table so its going. But that is the plan for me also. Not sure re spin down times.

may i ask what is the dust extraction like is it good ? and where is the extraction port hole placed and what size is it ? thanks

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. The dust extraction port is under the saw body and is 100 mm wide with a flange to allow a pipe to be attached. Without anything attached the motor pulls alot of the dust through to the port already.

Howdy Shaun. My saw is now 4 months old. Today the belt popped off. Not sure of terminology. The belt driving the blade. Seems only one belt direct from the motor to the blade. Anyway it's popped off. Any idea how to sort it out. I am about to take side panels off and start tinkering. I have kinda seen that the two drive wheels don't really seem to be in alignment. I am not at all mechanical technical type but this seems strange to me. I would have thought those wheels need good alignment but anyway I will see what I can do. The saw has been tripping lately and I was thinking I need to upgrade the garage fuse box but maybe it's something to do with the belt. Thanks in advance for any tips. Not much about these Saws online. Keep well.

Hey Bob, i would go have a look at my saw....but its in my new workshop and i am in full house rennovation mode and its under boxes of stuff. I had a similiar issue where a retaining nut came lose. Give LJ a call Dave in tech is great he will be under a saw in the factory mimicking what you're looking at.

Hi Shaun. Thanks. Will give them a call. I have put the belt back on but it only covers half the drive wheel on the blade side. The wheel on the motor is fully covered. Anyway good luck with the renovations. My mate in Cornwall is busy doing up his house and all I hear is there is no stock. No timber. No ply. No nothing.

I think the saw is the same as the USA Rigid brand which would explain the 5/8 arbour i have emailed Lumberjack several times trying to get additional information on some of their products with no response silly really as it put of buying there products if they don't reply before buying a product what would there response be if you had a problem?

you can clean the bed with majority of things, at present i use a scourer pad then lightly oil

Hi Shaun. Questuon for you. Well actually more a request. I have a problem with my saw. Bought it online from a company in Belgium, which doesnt seem to exist anymore. Anyway the issue i have is the belt has broken, its actually split along its length. On investigation i can see what i think is the problem. There are the two pulleys that drive the blade. The one on the blade looks good but the pulley on the motor seems like it has shifted along the shaft towards the motor. Looking at them one can see they are not in alignment and causing the belt to only run on half its width on the ine pulley. I can see a channel milled out on the shaft of the motor and inagine it has some k8nd of locking bar and grub screw. Anyway my request to you is if you happen to open the back panel on the saw, take a look and tell me if the pulley ob the motor sits flush with the end of the shaft. In my case i can see at least half an inch of shaft sticking out the pulley. I am trying to get in touch with lumberjack tools but they are a bit slow on the replies, busy setting up for a show i was told. I am dreading the solution if i am correct in my amateur diagnosis. I will have to get the motor out, which i have mulled over. Do ir can i take the top off? Do i flip it on its top and work from below. All sorts of challenges await. @@shaunintheshed hi. Managed to get the motor out. Not too difficult but remains to be seen if I get it all back together. On inspection of my now free motor I can see the pulley has a square groove milled into it and the shaft on the motor has the same groove milled in it. They do not line up as they should. Into that groove should fit a 5mm square bar which is missing along with the grub screw meant to hold it in place. Thus the pulley moved. Why the grub screw and locking bar are missing is a guess. Either the grub screw came out by itself allowing the locking bar to fall out etc or someone forgot on a Friday afternoon to put it in. Anyway I will get it sorted. I have had very unsatisfactory help from lumberjack tools. Can't get past Sharna to speak to a technician. Anyway all's good. Just eagerly awaiting a photo to show me the right position of the pulley. Actually glad I had to take it all apart because I have found a few other nuts and screws not tightened up. A few washers missing etc.

This saw used to be a good buy.... sadly the new 2021 £1000 price tag is now competing with much more upgradable saws already on the uk market. yeah it can take a dado but that doesn't make it better than a 1k saw at axminster which has phenomenal customer service. lumberjack bumping the price by £250 for absolutely nothing extra is in my opinion a blatant statement that this company is just greedy.

I don't think its a case of being greedy. With the start of the year import prices have changed across alot of industries based on our current exit from the EU. Bigger distributers with larger stock pools are able to keep their prices static, where as i feel the LJ team buy in smaller quantitites and have been hit buy it.

Best not tell your insurance about the dado stack...

@@richardparsons7012 Unfortunately they are legal in the UK As long as the machine has an arbor long enough and design to be able to accomodate them. Hence this particular saw was purchased. Axminster sell a line in them also www.axminstertools.com/axminster-trade-at254lts-table-saw-105573 The legal constraint is about spin-down time with a heavy dado blade. The machine must either come to rest quickly on its own, or it must have brakes fitted to it. It's not trivial to brake a machine with a heavy dado head that's only retained by a LH nut - it can work free when stopping. You can find the _real_ details under the PUWER 98 regulation on the HSE site External link to www.hse.gov.uk rules apply to commercial workshops or to sales of new machines. if you have an old machine with a long arbor, it's not permitted to use it in a commercial workshop (or where liability insurance would require compliance with the latest rules) unless it _also_ meets the stopping requirements. This may not be possible with an old arbor design, it may be expensive with a new arbor design and positive locking. In practice it's no big deal to achieve this with a 10" saw, so long as you don't use DC injection braking that stops the thing with a sudden bang. It was harder to achieve with spindle moulders (shapers in the US) which caused a lot of replacement heads to be sold a few years ago (and no bad thing too).
