    Shout out to all the Clipper fans. I'm seriously disappointed these teams have to face off against eachother. Behind the Mavs, the Clippers are my favorite team that is still in the playoffs. I rooted for them last year in their series against the Suns, where Russ actually stepped up and was pretty impactful. It is so sad though, that Kawhi can't get healthy in time and we do not get a full strength series of this. I know Luka is hurt too, but at least he can play at reasonable effectiveness. Coach doesn't like unconventional players a lot. That is why he is critical of Luka, or Kyrie (if he plays bad, which is basically never on the Mavs) and of course Russel Westbrook, his favorite scapegoat. Still, this game could have gone either way if not for the heroics of Harden pulling his team through. I feel it is more a delay of the inevitable Mavs win though.

    I hope you feature game 5 as well, still not a remarkable game from Luka, (another casual 30 piece) but his defense was a lot better. It really is surprising how well Kyrie and Luka can defend if they really commit. So far Kyrie has been excellent in the series, being extremely unselfish and occasionally going for very efficient bursts of scoring. Hopefully Luka will recover from his injuries enough to play a little better.

    Do you think game 1 has anything to do with Dallas game planning for Kawhi in the lineup. After Kawhi is inserted, it is clear he isnt 100%, do you think that is a factor or is that over exaggerated. Do you think the Clippers have enough to win even without Kawhi. We can only hope Kawhi can get healthy, but even so, does it make an impact this late in the playoffs? Is it worth it?

    Neither of those "fouls" are defensive fouls. If you put your feet ANYWHERE first, you get to put your legs and knees wherever tf you want, and, if an offender runs into your knees or legs, it's an offensive foul or, if the contact is marginal/incidental, no foul.

  • @pinobluevogel6458

    @pinobluevogel6458

    Agreed, these are marginal fouls that I would say is a play-on in playoff situations. However, if the player falls down, they more or less force the refs to act.

    @@weksauce You are correct, that was my point exactly. They are responding to how people are reacting to fouls, not to fouls as a whole. This is a huge issue that has been present since the playoffs started. Players that do not flop or react to fouls, simply do not get the calls, while others that drop easy or flail their arms or flop their heads, do. It's unfair, it is inconsistant and makes the referees look amateuristic.

  • @weksauce

    @weksauce

    18 күн бұрын

    @@pinobluevogel6458 No. None of what you're saying is true. The refs miss calls, but they don't call it based on reactions. They look for the foul, and if they see it, they call it. The problems are with the rules, the interpretations/guidelines for nba refs or how they actually enforce the rules as written, and with some systematic errors, such as it is impossible to ever make a false positive defensive foul call error if you're watching the defender, yet these systematically happen in the nba.

  • @pinobluevogel6458

    @pinobluevogel6458

    18 күн бұрын

    @@weksauce I've seen about 30 or more playoff games this year and what I said is happening, the refs are lacking consistancy. The exact same fouls are a play-on if the player that is fouled doesn't 'react' to the foul. Now it is possible that they miss a lot of fouls, but you can clearly see the contact in the replay and they are the exact same fouls, which warrented a whistle on the other side of the floor if the player reacted by exaggerating the contact by falling down, flailing with the arms or flopping his head back. If you haven't seen this happen in games, you are watching with your eyes closed. I'm not saying this is all the time, but it surely happens a lot, so often that the effect it has, can and has certainly swung close games.

    Scoring from the playmaking (pointguard if you will) position makes your playmaking better, as does playmaking make your scoring more effective. It doesn't matter who is the 'primary scorer', if someone can take a shot that is good for him, he should take it. Now obviously, both PG and Harden are extremely good snipers and shooting threats, so it should come down to who is open and in rhythm to who is taking more shots.

    @@snowakira1412 The issue with Russ is that he is a great player to love if everything is working for him, but he is an even easier guy to hate when things go bad. Stuff he does on the court that is not good just stands out much more, like missing several open shots in a row, or turning the ball over, or committing offensive fouls and making dangerous defensive plays. His play is simply really polarizing. Now back in his prime, he was probably so insanely good, that some of the lesser aspects of his play didn't matter too much. Now though, you start to wonder if it is worth it keeping him on the floor. Last year he was amazing for quite long stretches, providing excellent defense, game winning plays and even good shooting from range against the Suns. And while I really hope he has another good game in him, so far he hasn't been good overall. It sucks when a player you love isn't performing up to the standard you know he is able to. For me personally, I was highly disappointed I didn't get to see Brandon Ingram shine in his playoff matches. The hounding defense of Lu Dort kept him out of the game for most of it and he was only just coming back from an injury and it showed. I know deep in my heart he has always been bad when coming back from an injury, it takes him 4-5 games to get back into rhythm usually, but that doesn't make his less than normal play any less painful. Sometimes though, you face a better prepared opponent, or a better constructed team, or you get out coached, or a combination of all of these.

    this guy just shat on russ for 0 reasons lol, hes been doing this for years, im not so surprised you didnt bring up his lineup with plumlee that helped the clippers weather the storm to start the 4th after the onslaught in the 3rd. but you clearly hated those 4 plays from russ where in two of them he wasnt even the point of interest lol, while the whole team was struggling to get it together in the third. you make me sick coach.

    Russ has had some convincing arguments for him during the regular season and for sure some short stretches of play in this series that were okay. He is not as good as he needs to be though and certainly not as good as last year in the playoffs. You can't keep a guy on the floor that is basically a non-shooting threat if he doesn't offer at least enough other things.

    I really appreciate people sticking up for Russ, but some of the criticism is justified, he hasn't been great. Now if his coach uses him a little smarter, he might get a little more out of him, but Ty Lue has more than enough to worry about without optimizing Westbrook in the series. This series is just not his, if the clippers survive he might shine for the next one. (but I doubt the Mavs will let them)

    Kyrie is playing well, but people need to stop talking like he is the best player in the series. He is doing as good as Harden Luka and PG, which is great. But he is not a outlier. He is averaging 3.3 tov with just 4.5 ast, this game he has 7tov, his defence is not good enough, lead to the less than ideal +\- for him, and is one of the reasons why they falled behind early.

    The great coach Popovich himself said that +/- is a BS Stat so your point is moot. If a player drops 40 points on 50-50-100 shooting splits then his turnovers become moot as he also had 4 assists to 5 Defensive rebounds as well. He wasn't the reason they was down early. PG13 and Harden attacking Luka while the Clippers were hot from 3 is why the lead was so big
