Luka Dončić scores 35 to take 3-2 lead, Celtics complete Gentleman's Sweep | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Спорт

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the LA Clippers 123-93 to take a 3-2 lead. Luka Dončić led the way with 35 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists, while James Harden notably struggled. The guard finished with seven points (2-of-12 shooting) and four turnovers. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react to Luka's big game, then discuss whether Harden is the biggest reason the Clippers lost. They then react to the Boston Celtics completing the Gentleman's Sweep of the Miami Heat.

I remember when they had Brandon Marshall on here interrupting everyone and they were bringing brou on practically every show and thinking they should just replace brou and b marsh (no disrespect he was just way too aggressive for this talk show ). then that day happened and I thought wow what a power move and since then this show has taken off!! Such a great team that compliment each other so well, thank you for everything you do from Nick wright, wildes and brou to dusty, Josh and the guy behind the camera who randomly laughs every once in a while. Thank you to the whole team, I know I’m not alone when I say this show is my favorite show by far. I’m grateful for the daily laughs and stares from random people when I have first things first playing in my headphone as I laugh to myself maniacally on walks with my dog. Thanks first things first team

After his rookie season he carried the Mavs to the playoffs until now averaging 32/8/9. Who does that's since his rookie season? I still don't understand why so many people hold Ty Lue in such high regard. Sure, he puts a lot of emphasis on mismatches, but apart from that, I don't see the added value he brings. Also, Wildes forgets that the Heat played without Butler against a fully stacked Boston team. Winning that one game was quite a feat.

Wilde's saying what I've been saying. "Jimmy was hurt in the play-in. Boston has an easy ride to the ECF". Congratulations to the heat fans. You've discovered how playoff seeding works. Turns out, the 1 seed have a easier path than the 9th seed. You know the easiest way for Jimmy to not get hurt in the play-in? Don't be in the play-in. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Congratulations. 👏🏾 Good lord.

Its hardly controversial to say Luka should make the top 10 if he stays healthy and wins titles. Seems kind of obvious honestly if that happens

If the Mavs keep playing defense like they have been in this series and can get a little more healthy (Luka’s knee improves, hardaway comes back), I think they will win the chip.

In fairness to Harden, he wasn’t supposed to be the #1 or #2 option on the team. He’s supposed to be the #3 option/playmaker. Brou is spot on. They would’ve been able to survive nights when he struggles if kawhi was there. Not sure how Harden is getting more blame than Kawhi and PG.

I hate how in Basketball a gentlemen's sweep is any 5 game series! In the NHL and most leagues it means you go up 3-0 then give the other team a game knowing they have no chance to come back from 3-0. It also usually doubles as a homecourt win if it's a higher seeded team!

My only concern is that can they translate the effoet they played in Game 5 to Game 6? Im not gonna say that the Clippers are gonna shoot 32% and be bad at 3s but I want to be a good team from both sides.

As phenomenal as Luka is, cracking the top 3 greatest offensive players list is a tough task. Between MJ, Kobe and Wilt I’m not sure who you’re knocking off for Luka. We can revisit this in another 10+ years and maybe he’s clearly on there but man, that’s a tough top 3.
