I dunno... I'm not even a big Luka guy but he beat a number 1 seed while hobbled. He's playing way harder on defence He makes his teammates better - PJ looks like a different guy, lively looks awesome. Hes been super impressive

This is something that has impressed me a lot, the way PJ, Gafford and DLive look isn't just because they are great players, they are and have been improving, but it is also that they often receive great opportunities. Gafford couldn't miss a bucket and almost had the best record ever in the NBA and many of those situations were made through fantastic passes by Luka, together with the pull that LuKai have on the other players. Seeing Luka and Kyrie step up on defense has been fantastic, both are fantastic players on the offense and now are respectable players on defense. I hope they can keep it up!

He has the James harden affect. I don't think they are the same player like a lot of people say but I do think he has a similar affect on big men. Harden was making capela look like an all star just like Luka has done with Lively and Gafford.

I don’t know how you can watch that series and say he was better defensively, he’s an all time great, but he’s a cone defensively, and it wasn’t even his best series in general, he’s GREAT but I don’t know if this is the time to be saying it…. Yet.

The question isn’t whether or not he’s been impressive, it’s whether this performance enhances your view of Luka. Maybe I’ve just already held him in higher esteem than others, but Luka is basically doing exactly what I expected him to do

The truth is, Broussard is right. We won't see Luka any different if he doesn't win this year. He'll still be seen as a top 3/4 player, a great playoff performer, and still on a legendary pace. If he wins this year, he'll reach another tier, now joining the other Superstars who have won. There's little more that Luka do to surpass how we already see him. I personally think he's the best player in the league who hasn't won yet.

Tatum has been playing for contending teams, but it is rare that #1 options win rings in their early 20's. Ant wins one this season, but he's been extremely lucky with the team that drafted him. And Ant-Man isn't the true leader of his team, or the closer.

@@penkima4923 I like Tatum but the reason great early 20’s players don’t win is because they were drafted to bad teams and it takes those years to develop a championship roster. Tatum was blessed to be drafted to a team that had championship aspirations and shortly became top 3 in chances to win the finals due to their championship rosters. Celtics typically don’t lose because their team didn’t play up to par, the Celtics typically lose because their two best players come up short.

Every Boston team before 2022 overachieved and it's a lie to say otherwise. Never had a healthy Hayward, had a healthy but toxic kyrie for one season out of the two he was there, never had a healthy kemba, the 2020-21 team was god awful and should never be mentioned as good, the 2021-22 made a historical turn around mid season and beat the defending champ bucks and #1 heat, only to lose to the dynasty, definitely overachieving. 2022-23 team loses in 7 to the heat, that was the only team expected to win it all and underachieve.

I agree with the frustrations on how Boston/Tatum are discussed. Makes no sense. As for Luka vs Tatum: Look, Luka has had the highest usage rate in the NBA by a mile for several years, and Tatum plays on a team that has no real hierarchy. Luka is clearly the more skilled offensive player, and the numbers he puts up are mind blowing. Tatum is a far more impactful defender (elite perimeter defense, and can guard bigger players, if yall didn’t know). Luka is better, but Tatum has a chance to surpass him and everyone else. Luka has a chance to surpass everyone. To me it comes down to winning, so let’s see who out of this field wins the chip.

Even with his injury struggles Luka is better than Ant. He showed up when it mattered the most vs OKC, while Ant got carried hard by his team in the deciding game 7. Funny how nearly everyone seems to ignore his 6-24 fg, 2-10 3p and him being a liability yesterday.

0:01 Luka Doncic is surpassing LeBron James. LeBron James is the BIGGEST NBA Western Conference Failure in NBA History - LeBron James: 2019 -> FAILED to make the NBA Playoffs, 2020 -> Asterisk BUBBLE Consolation Prize, 2021 -> LOST in the 1st Round, 2022 FAILED to make even the NBA PLAY-IN Tournament👀😅, 2023 SWEPT 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals, and 2024 Gentlemen’s SWEEP 4-1 in the 1st Round. Now we see why LeBron James went to 8 straight NBA Finals. Michael Jordan locked the GOAT Position at #1. Now ranking Kareem, Magic, Kobe, and Bird ahead of LeBron James sounds very logical. And yes, the basketball world is starting to rank Tim Duncan over LeBron James as well.
