If all representatives of Lufthansa gave the same response, regardless of whether the information was correct or not then you’d be correct in your response, however that’s not the case, different information was given when querying different people representing Lufthansa, which has led to his frustration and why it’s not good enough. Don’t get me wrong, I love Lufthansa and I’m a frequent flyer with them and have flights booked later this year, but I would hope that when it comes to my travels when I’m checking in and speaking to check in agent, gate and cabin crew that they all have their stories straight.

Noel I think the overriding sentiment that comes from your videos at the moment though is that travelling right now is very difficult. Directions from airlines, health ministries and foreign affairs/immigration authorities should of course ideally be singing from the same hymn sheet, but when the situation is changing from week to week, it's difficult to ensure that this is always the case. It's never good to hear of the emotional rollercoasters that people have trying to travel at the moment, but then again if everything was normal right now and there was no difficulty in travelling, then the pandemic would be out of control. The restrictions or even the lack of clarity about said restrictions are not perfect, but less people are flying due to these and other factors and for now, that is a good thing. If you don't need to fly and travel overseas at the moment, then don't. This is tough for all of us who love travelling but they're necessary for the moment and into the latter parts of the year. The virus is unpredictable and as such travelling is going to be unpredictable too.

I can't help but feel you're being a tad harsh towards Lufthansa on this occasion. Yes as a passenger it is frustrating and I can sympathise, but you've got to see it from their point of view too. They're still operating (at the time of this video) in unprecedented times, they'll be running with vastly reduced staff numbers too so it's easy for old/wrong/misleading information to be passed on, especially considering how much information and guidelines were changing at the time.

Hey Noel, I see why you are frustrated, but I don't see how all this is Lufthansa's fault. The people at the airport in Sweden are not Lufthansa staff so that's not really LHs fault if they are telling you things that aren't true. That letter you got is also not from Lufthansa but the ministry of health and they are required to hand those out by law... And you are still required to go into quarantine for 14 when you actually stay in the country. You were connecting so you're not staying in the country, therefore no quarantine for you obviously.... And also security staff is also not part of Lufthansa. I just don't see how any of the inconvenience you faced was Lufthansa's fault. The company is keeping essential routes up so people like you that need to travel can do so. I feel like your video is not fair towards the airline at all.

You are acting ridiculous, no, you can’t expect a smooth journey but you can expect to get somewhat reliable information that isn’t contradicted 5 times and isn’t a months out of date, and also, you can’t stop doing anything for two weeks because you traveled with a mask. That is simply ridiculous.

Coming from this industry I will say information of any importance can be misleading because some information doesn't get passed on from other places or counties so we have to relay on what we have already or know which it is frustrating and I get why your ranting .. But on the flip side on the crew side we only get told in memos or briefing sheets what needs to be done and said until the airline updates the information as if its health or safety related its has to be annocenced even if you know its not the case because if we don't say it we can get into crap for it if any officals or companies head office is on board doing checks on us. At the end of the day we are only doing our jobs. It's such a madness period atm everything up in the air so airlines only have to relay on what there governments say and we have to obey by it whether we agree or not..

Although I normally really enjoy your videos this one made me cringe. Is the provision of information sometimes messy in these unprecedented times? Sure. If airlines can hardly handle a local snow storm once a year dealing with a global pandemic might be a little much to ask for. Is that annoying? Absolutely. But going on a rant and calling it “misleading”? What exactly does Lufthansa gain by “misleading” you? To me it just shows you’ve lost all touch with reality in a time you shouldn’t be traveling in the first place.

I would beg to differ... Lufthansa just like any other airline monitors all new regulations and laws affecting them at all times and besides just providing the information to XOs and higher-ups equally they can create bundles of information packages that should be communicated to all their management teams and their partners that may be affected. nobody would accept flying with a pilot that hasn't done his training and doesn't know all the new regulation so why would you allow the same behaviour anywhere else in the company?

100% agree with you. I worked for airlines most of my working life and I can tell you that they never tell the customers the truth. As you know, I work at Terminal 4 and if, and whenever a flight is delayed due to various reasons, I always tell the customers the truth instead of lying to them. A while ago we had a delayed flight, the airline reps asked me to say that the delay was with catering, when actually it was an engine issue. You got 5 engineers looking at the engine and the passengers can see this through the window, no catering truck in sight. When I made the announcement about a technical issue with the engines, 300 angry passengers all calmed down and some even thanked me for being honest. Airlines and their representatives are too scared to tell the truth....why?? Tell the passenger what is going on and you will have a much nicer shift. Simple as that. Hope you and the family are well Sir.

I had a delayed flight on a US regional airline one night as after pushback one of the engines would not start. We were told they were bringing another plane from the hangar...for about 5 hours. They were really just waiting for the next incoming CRJ-900 that wasn't scheduled to fly anywhere else that night. The main airline provided food and drinks plus an additional snack box as we were boarding. The flight crew stuck around the gate area with us and were great people helping keep up morale, it just sucks that they would probably have been risking their jobs to tell us 'yeah we're just waiting on the next usable plane to come in, it's due at 10:50.'

I worked for Lufthansa for 2 years, but I quit in June, 2020. My coworkers and manager were very nice, but I found that the worst part of my job was the customers. No matter what I did, people would yell at me and insult me for things that were out of my control. And when Covid hit, it was just worse, I was called a criminal because I could not find a customer’s ticket from 2019 after it was deleted (tickets are deleted after a year). So I wrote an email to my boss and she was very kind and understanding. In hindsight I should have found another job before quitting, but I was going crazy!

I don't know about Germany, but in the UK you need to self-isolate for two weeks unless you're on a transfer flight. If you're staying for less than two weeks, you need to isolate for the complete duration of your stay. Obviously it's hard to enforce, but hefty fines can be issued if you violate these terms

You expect too much of personnel in the airline. We don't receive full and perfect information. We deliver the information we are told to deliver. I had a similar experience on the airline I actually work for flying from Heathrow to Berlin. With governments changing their mind every five minutes it's no wonder airlines and other organisations can't keep up. Many employees are furloughed. How can you expect all this to be achieved, (and for very low fares)? It's unrealistic. Lufthansa isn't an arm of the German government, despite an upcoming bailout. And by the way, the people who check in your bags these days often aren't even employees of the airline you are flying with. They get almost no wage or airline benefits full employees receive. If people want the cheap travel (and they do) they can't expect luxury meals and service and tip top information. Please have some sense of the economic reality of the business.

As Frankfurt is in the Hessen state you need to follow Hessen rules and they currently say that when you are arriving from Sweden you have to quarantine for 14 days. Every german state set their own rules on this though there is a federal recommendation and if you had landed in Stuttgart you would have been free to enter, It's not easy to keep track of as the quarantine rule is not for a named country only for a level of current infection rate which only Sweden is above.

Hi, big big fan, have seen many of your great vids and super happy to see so much travel in Scandinavia. Now then, to the coms situation. I work in Holliday lentings in Denmark and 70 percent of our guest are non Danish. Over issue (and I expect the same for the airlines) is: Lack if clear and confirmed rules... and that rules are changed on a daily level. What’s was okay yesterday is no longer okay. This is like super extremely complicated to find the rules for. Sweden in its self is red flags all over including even though they are a part of Schengen. UK also raises questions, eu or non eu nationality. Rule is, eu citizen. So please don’t take it out on the crew, they are reliable for getting the right information and that is a major task in these days
