Yeah, I kind of surprised too that it actually portrayed what's in the manga panels; it was animated smoothly too, from the transition and other stuff.

The pacing makes me appreciate the fight even more. This is how it should be. You can feel Luffy's ridiculous cartoonish power. Thank you for this incredible animation.

It made luffy feels like he was joking all the time, just trying out his new powers. Perfect man, anxious to see more on the future when luffy plays around even more

Do I... Do I like this more than the original? Man... Just having a stable camera gave me so much more scene comprehension. Sometimes, they really overdo it in the official anime. This was great.

Going back after watching the actual episode. This is better than the studio version.

i don't think we should be selling the studio version short other than the paneling being really zoomed in. Gear 5 was meant to be cartoonish. that was the whole idea behind the joyboy thing in the first place.

I mean they have to stretch fights out cause remember the story pans over to the other strawhats and momo+Yamato quite a bit during lufffys fight. Otherwise the anime would catch up to the manga super quick

They do good animation. It's just they stretch it out a lot, add extra scenes, random long shots, etc. Unlike Demon Slayer who did really well to just do the fight with no random 8 second shot of the character's face every minute.

It’s awesome to see it done this way. Cause realistically while so much time passes for the readers, it’s easy to forget how fast time passes in the manga, heck the onigashima raid made up 72 chapters which took oda 1 year 5 months and 16 days to draw. The raid was a SINGLE night 😂. Still amazing to see the fight in real time

There were only some parts with bad transition, imo the worst one was when Luffy deflected blast breath, idk what was going on there

i really want joyboy luffy to be animated like those old disney rubberhose animations tbh (take cuphead as a reference)
