I got it ^^ that is how the changelings were supposed to look! In mythology, changelings are fairy children that replace human children to feed off of love. The new designs are reminiscent of fairies, and they learned to feed off of shared love rather than stealing it. By stealing it, they became corrupt and more bug-like because it changed what they're were supposed to be. Now, they're truly the fairy ponies they were meant to be ^^

ThePuppetrion Harsh words from someone who knows nothing about anything. If you wanna pick a fight, get some knowledge first. For one, reactors are actually beneficial. They provide a live experience that content creators can view and see their reactions. This allows them to find what works, what doesn't, and how different people view their content, which in turn makes their writing better if they pay attention. For two, MLP has nothing to do with perviness or anything of the sort. That's only a small bit of the fandom, and guess what? All fandoms have those people. MLP is a show about life lessons that need to be taught, a show that teaches others to respect and care for one another rather than blindly passing on hatred and cruelty. Or three, go watch some reactors. Guess what? The majority of them are teens or young to mid adults. Very rarely are there people over 40 doing these types of videos. Case in point, this very reaction video you commented on had a guy who is an adult, but certainly younger than older. For four, lots of reactors, especially MLP reactors, have girlfriends. For example, Bronymonster44, who has a girlfriend under the pen name Zee Dee. Or Dr. Wolf, a reviewer of MLP who is married. Or Lightning Bliss, another reviewer who is also married. Or what about Keyframe, who reacts and reviews and is the girlfriend to Goldenfox? For five, cancer is no joke. People have died from it. Calling someone a cancer is incredibly ignorant and idiotic of the real and serious issue of that of cancer. Plus it's incredibly disrespectful to those who have died from cancer or who survived. And lastly, assuming only makes an ass out of yourself. Who said I was a guy? I certainly didn't. And for the record, I'm not. Who said I was 50? No one, yet again. I'm not even close. Who said I was a perve? I may think dirty from time to time but I don't go doing Pervy things. In the end, you have no basis for anything, and thus even if just trolling, you don't succeed in your wake. That's it. I just countered each of your points. How will you respond?

You'd also learn that there are those people in every fandom. Potterheads, Trekkies, Gleeks, and many more all have those people who make perverted things or act like perverts. So you can't base an entire fandom of what, 200,000 or more people, by the actions of few. Your move.

Umm... your watching a reactor watching MLP, that makes you the same kind of person watching MLP so I wouldn't talk if I were you. And before you start to rip me a new one, I'm a fan of both kinds of animation be it for kids or adults, plus this is a business if grownups like it such as 50 year old men then more the money there is to be made. there are cartoons being made for adults these days give them a try.

I just noticed this, but did you notice that this is the FIRST of the finales that didn't have a musical number in it? Every single other finale had a song in it, except this. More proof that this isn't the end. I firmly believe that when MLP does end, there will be the biggest musical number ever.

Funny enough, the finale I think didn't have a song in it, but the epilog did

Every time I watch this episode I appreciate it more and it rises higher in my personal rankings. It's still not one of my favorite episodes ever but I do absolutely love it for what it does with Starlight. Starlight has really grown since her first appearance, and this was a crucial step on her path of redemption the same way Rainbow Rocks was for Sunset. She's grown into one of the most mature and entertaining characters in the show and I love seeing her onscreen. And I love Chyrsalis's return! She's such a delightfully evil and intimidating yet fun villain with a lot of charisma, and I'm glad they've kept her around. Probably my favorite of the main villains.

Discord's reaction to Flutters getting taken is gold to me. I felt the same.

I hear that my mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Lo, an hour later Luffy graces me with mlp season finale. This is what I needed. Thank you, for doing this. I never want to watch MLP alone, and I need it now more than ever. You're a real chap.

***** It's cliché and not a good match up. Chrysalis would never team up with something that feeds on ther oppsite of Love, plus Windigos are basically evil spirits/animals, not really something you can team up with or tame.

I DO like this episode overall for how well paced and suspenseful it is, plus all the twists they threw at us. The characters were great, Trixie was amazing, and Starlight proves to be a great lead for an episode. And even though I'm not wild about the new changelings, I am interested to see where they go with it. Overall I give it an 8/10. But my one problem is this: Starlight was amazing, and the whole leader message was delivered fantasticly. To the wrong villain. Chrysalis, as far as I remember in her two appearances before this, never "denied who her subjects are" or "ruled with fear and intimidation". She never denied what changelings are. The changelings listened to her because she's their queen (and mom), and they never appeared afraid of her, at all. And she always puts them before herself in her speeches, she never says "to feed myself, and my subjects". Heck, she's one of the few villains I've seen who actually seems to care about her minions! However, there IS a past villain who DID put himself above his subjects, and ruled with fear and an iron hoof. With a castle/lair that would mold to his will. And I'm sure he'd have access to dark magic or some mcguffin that could block outside magic. And many have speculated he could return due to him not being entirely destroyed. Let Sombra rise again.

Discord proves he's in love with Fluttershy here, Starlight makes it up to her friends for turning them into zombie slaves, and Trixie makes it up to Starlight for playing with her emotions in this episode.

I just keep thinking about when she grows up, gets her cutie mark, her coronation into, hopefully, the fifth Princess of Equestria. Jeez, the ideas for her coronation dress and her crown are going to be nuts. And if they do it at the Crystal Empire, oh, I'm going crazy just thinking about it.

I literally didn't realize until watching your reaction that the scene when Starlight offers her hoof to Chrysalis as a second chance is a direct parallel to Twilight doing the same to Starlight back in S5 finale, even the pose, expression and angle being the same. That gotta be by far one of my favorite symbolisms in the entire show now, that's really powerful TwT

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that got major chills while watching this finale. I don't remember being so invested in a two-parter than I was with "Twilight's Kingdom(the plot, the suspense, the tension, etc.); that's how spectacular this finale was for me!

Ah! It was a joy to watch your reaction! This was truly an amazing episode. I haven't been geeking out like this since the season 2 finale. Litterally not 2 minutes would go by without me squealing at something. XD Trixie's face in the beginning was soooooo adooooorable. And I loved her burns on Twi. XD I was so glad to see you trying to figure out what the deal was with the mane 6 when they got back from the festival. I was completely the same way. Though I thought it had something to do with time travel? Like, cause they all seemed to be the same accept they didn't know who Starlight was. And it was only when Luna was about to say it that I figured it out. XD I think it was harder to predict because the changelings weren't trying to get away from Starlight. They all asked her questions, and were engaging in conversation. That's what through me off. XD Luna's warning gave me chills too. :D And the whole half of the episode after Luna is where is gets amazing for me. As a huge Trixie fan, I absolutely loved her remarks on the main 6 and her attitude and wit were both surprisingly satisfying, and god damn fun to watch. XD And I was loosing it when Discord made his appearance. That was when I was like "This shit just got REAL!" And then the episode ends, with the everything perfectly set up and the anticipation for what is to come, set up perfectly. Then came part 2... Which was AMAZING! Trixie stole the show! And I loved how clever the Fluttershy part was and Thorax being Starlight. It gave the characters more credit and intelligence, and made them more fun to watch. Only two things kinda bothered me. 1) I don't like the new designs for the changelings that much. Not a huge complaint, but still bait off-putting. :/ 2) And I was a little worried that Chrysalis would be reformed. That would have greatly damaged the episode for me. It would have been too fast and would have felt completely rushed. But NOPE! Smack! Episode saved! So I guess just one thing that kinda bothered me. :) Usually the second part of the 2 parters is where things fall apart and the pacing gets rushed, but this was the first time I can truly say that the pacing was damn near perfect. The first really solid two parter for me without any one thing bugging me. Overall, it was such a breath of fresh air for me. It was like watching a fan fiction. And it was brilliantly executed from story to writing to pacing to animation to character development etc. I loved these episodes and I really enjoyed the reaction! This made my day. :D

This episode just reminds me of all the Fairytopia movies. The ( ) are used to show the MLP parallels. In Fairytopia Kathleen Barr was a villain named Laverna (Here she's Chrysalis) and the hero, Elina, voiced by Kelly Sheridan (Here she's Starlight Glimmer) finds that all her friends are losing powers (Being replaced) and suspects something is wrong, and soon rumours are spread that The Enchantress (Or here it'd be the Princesses, minus the rumour part) has been kidnapped, along with the Guardians Fairies (Twilight and Friends). So Elina (And Starlight) get together a group and travel to the wastelands (Changeling Kingdom) but Laverna has a magic dust (The chair) that takes away fairies ability to fly (or here do magic). Laverna's plan is to steal the fairies magic (Love) and become loved by all (Here it's just eat their love). Even in the movie Laverna's henchmen, Fungus, leave Elina alone (Here they don't bother to replace Starlight), and in the third Fairytopia movie Fungus replaces a fairy and Laverna is talking to him through like a portal thing (like in the map room). Plus Laverna wasn't reformed. So there's just a lot of parallels I found while watching the episodes.

Not all changelings where at the hive. So it stands to reason that queen chrysalis won't be returning alone. And if Thorax left the hive because of they way they ran things, there could be changelings that where happy with it that way. Maybe, and this is just my headcanon, but I think Twilight meant it as an ally so the ponies wouldn't need to have to worry about that nation invading anymore. Kind of "War's over, we're all just folk now" type of thing.

I think the other pinkie(in that restaurant) in episode 6 could of been an intentional foreshadowing to this.

Just casually show up with 4 princesses, the bearers of the elements of harmony, the new king of the changelings who were just evil, and the god of chaos. Just average everyday party right? LOL

I love this finale. It beat out the Tirek fight just for it's lore contribution. And, at first, I was iffy about the new changeling design...but it's grown on me and they are so ADORABLE now.

BTW in the confrontation of Chrysalis Fluttershy is hugging Discords tail. I screeched when I saw it

Luna uses her magic to enter Pony's dreams. Since she was being captured, I think that scene with her informing Starlight ended because the Changelings that had captured her and Celestia had entered the Hive, and thus her magic was negated.

I love the tune you chose to play at the start. I can really feel all those hopes and dreams xD

When I saw the Changeling hive I instantly was all: "OH, GOD, IT'S THE OUTLANDS!!!"

Yeah, I'd say if you managed to get only one of the spoiler images, you were lucky. I had both of them at the top of my front page when I went on KZread once. That aside, thank you for your review. You're the first one I've seen react to the finale, and it was worth it. You have endless joy for the show I'm sure I can't even show a lot of the time. You have a memory for things that have happened before, and you also happily take part in in-jokes and keep in contact with others in the fandom. You're definitely a reactor to aspire to. (Oh, and although I have no idea what that song you used for the intro was, it was awesome seeing Thorax transform with it). Onto the episode-- well, I still have to write my review for it, and post it-- but overall it was great. I have nothing against Starlight, like you. In fact it was probably the other way round, I have a bias towards loving her. This was the first finale/premiere in awhile that hasn't left me questioning certain things. Instead it just made me feel happy. It was really well thought through, from the big details of who the villain was to the small details of Trixie and Discord's bickering (I'd actually gone off Discord until this episode, so I was happy seeing the writing of him come back to form). I don't think I can say anything more at the moment. Thanks for the react, Luffy. I doubt that she'd use Sombra, but yes I agree she's a very smart villain; that's why she's one of my favorites, instead of being powerful in the sense that Tirek was she uses her mind; her intelligence to outwit her opponents; which I just love. I think that she will come back, hopefully in season 7; in the finale. And the allies that the ponies have been gathering will end up helping the ponies. (At least that's what I'm assuming).

So Discord (Fluttershy), the Yaks (Pinkie), the Dragons (Spike), the Griffons (Dash), and now the Changelings (Starlight) all are allies? Chrysalis ... what on earth is she going to bring back with her that requires that sort of army to deal with?

When I watch this finale, all I can think of is 'flufflepuff'. :D I would like to see what Chrysi looks like as a reformed changling, since she is physically different from the other changelings.

Nice reaction as per usual :-D One thing, though, regarding Starlight's second dream; I don't think it was the changelings entering her dreams, but more of a manifestation of her confusion of her friends' behaviours and her own anxiety

Yay reaction. I really liked how the changelings were reformed, and I especially like the new changeling design. No doubt they're gonna be in season 7 (because I'm fairly certain that there will be one bc of the massive fanbase that it has created). Also I found it interesting that going near the changeling hive causes magic to disappear. Anyways, this was definitely a good season finale, and I'm glad that Trixie, Discord, Starlight, and Thorax teamed up (gave the impression of a new 'mane 4' hahaha) to defeat Chrysallis. Especially how Thorax stood up for all of the changelings, and was reformed that way. Anyways, those are just my impressions of the finale, and you had a very enjoyable reaction, Luffy. I'm glad I was able to find your channel, because you give a lot of very impressive feedback on every single episode, and you never fail to make me laugh or think about each episode a little more. Great job, Luffy, and keep up the amazing reactions!! I can't wait for your season 7 reactions, especially with how amazing season 6 as a whole was.

As a side note, I also was very happy about how Starlight, after going back to that town she went crazy over, she was expecting everypony to hate her, and how they all put their trust in her to make the decisions. I found it quite interesting how Starlight was a little stressed out, because of her conflicting feelings about what she did in the past. It makes for a good story arc, and character development. Again, I also really enjoyed how Starlight tried to go up against Chrysallis, even though she knew she would fail. It showed that she is not a quitter, and will do anything for her newly found friends. It definitely also shows good character development for her.

Best Pony-Turned-Human has her own festival, this pleases me, as does the rest of this finale. Letting other people save the day for once was a nice change of pace, and highly unexpected for a finale.

I also got the idea of how it works. Changeling is like a vessel. They gather love, and when they release it, they evolve. So pretty much while they are little they will have to feed just a little bit.

The song at the beginning in the background is Hopes and Dreams from Undertale, just in case if anyone is curious, probably no one is.

That wasn't Suicide Squad... That was the Suicide Mission from Mass Effect 2.

My favorite part: after all the complaining about Starlight being overpowered with her magic (which I never had any problem with), it turns out it was all leading up to this story, where she has to go without it and become a true leader.

And that... is how you redeem a villain... nice one Starlight and Discord! I love this...

Something interesting to note is that the four heroes of the episode have all been antagonists at one point, though trixie was a minor one and thorax was just part of an army. On first watching I wasn't a fan of the new look of the changelings. Watching it again, it looks cool, though I still prefer the old look right now I love that they didn't reform chrysalis. She is one of my favorite villains. Along with that, it's awesome that starlight has learned so much that she's able to be in almost the exact situation that twilight was in the season 5 premiere

Why does the Changeling Hive made me think of the Outlands in Lion King 2?

I also appreciate how you seemed genuinely surprised by Luna's Changeling reveal. When I first saw this finale, I was feeling a serious "Invasion of the Body Snatchers (for those who don't know, it's a pretty obscure 1956 movie about humanity being replaced by aliens with emotionless duplicates) vibes, so I too didn't even consider Changelings at the time.

I was planning on watching the episode at the official release date, but then I realised that I'd probably be spoiled by whatever random thumbnail was gonna come up before that, so I watched it early.

This has easily become my new favorite Season Finale. I love what they did with the changelings. But now I have to ask, What made them become that way? What happened? Was it the Stone Throne that changed them (Because Most Magic was not allowed in that general area.)? It does raise a few questions, but for now, I am so excited to see more from them in the future. Here's for many great seasons! *Winks*

This reminds me a lot of a fanfic that I did with my Car OCS, it’s called Mlp Cars of Madness, it involves Alice (1957 Chevrolet Bel Air) and Shelly (1970 Dodge Challenger) and it involves them getting sucked into the elements of harmony,and now they have to fight there way out (and it’s a very good comparison with this)

I feel you, the amount of times something turned up in suggestions and completely spoiled me on it. Like when I was catching up on Steven Universe and a certain channel (not naming any names) pops up as a suggestion and the thumb nail contained a huge spoiler for the show.

Best Season Finale of MLP in my opinion. I mean you got characters from season episodes coming back, no Magic Ex Machina, and a new form of Changeling. What MORE CAN YOU WANT?

i think season 2 finale is still the best

Yeah, a YT Thumbnail got me spoiled on Chrysalis, so it really sucked that I weren't able to avoid spoilers even though I avoided Derpibooru, Tumblr, EQD and so on... But in the end it didn't really lessen my reaction and opinion on the episode, fortunately. It was an amazing end to this season and I look forward to what they have in store for us next season, espacially with Chryssi. And also, great reaction as always and thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions. You have a really unique POV when you recap the episodes at the end and it's always a blast to watch. Keep staying awesome. :D

here's a cool idea, at the end of the season 7 finale when she is defeated and sent to tartaros, a voice will call out to her and begin to chit chat with her, the exchange some dialogue... And then the camera reveals that its Tirek, if it ends like that it could possibly lead to a partnership between the two for season 8

Nice choice of intro music. Hope and Dreams is one of the best Undertale musics. Perfect for this finale.

It's probably my most listened to song from the Undertale soundtrack. It's just soooo good.

halfway through the second episode Thorax suddenly had pupils. Nice progression.

About him being in the s5 finale. That line actually highlights something in another two parter the whole sneeze=all changelings dead to me that is just further evidence he let Tirek win

I know a two parter wouldn't work in three parts, but I think this one could have had a set up episode - ie everything up to when Starlight returns to Ponyville and realises something is a bit off, in an episode prior to the two part finale. They captured the essence of a movie with the character interactions and the infiltration part of the story and it was a very good finale. The pacing just seemed off during the last 15 minutes, and it prob needed a bit more runtime overall. Also the idea of having real magic nerfed and depending on magic show trickery in an episode with Discord and Trixie was friggin inspired

Okay, season 7 needs to be the big battle season. It has an arc that leads to the main ponies leading an army against tirek, sombra and queen chrysalis in an epic show down.
