Well, the punishment fits the crime. Think about this: for two full days there was no unicorn magic. How many citizens do you suppose literally rely on magic for survival? True, we never see any on screen because it is a children's show, but you have to imagine that some percentage of the populace has some form of magical life-support, in the hospitals if nothing else. Cozy killed ponies.

I'm now fully aware of the main factor that led to Cozy being locked up. She didn't repent or apologize, which is opposite to the characters who were given a second chance. Remorse seems to be a very effective bargaining chip in Equestria, so Cozy kinda slipped up by not faking it XD

@@luffyiscool Hahah yeah, back then after season 5, I hoped for Starlight to be faking her redeem, knowing how clever a villain she was, and how well she investigated the Mane Six before striking back. She most likely knew how it works with all that redeem stuff for MLP villains, so if she wanted to remain a villain, she could have easily come up with a plan to fake her own redeem in season 5 finale, just to get into the Mane Six's little group, buy their trust, and then strike again from the inside ;> Now how cool would THAT be? ;> Unfortunately, it wasn't how it turned out later in season 6. But I don't regret. How it actually turned out is also cool, and I like Starlight both as a villain, as well as a non-villain :)

@@bonbonpony just speculation Starlight did fake her repentance and plotted to strike again. But along the way she got to know Twilight and her friends as well as meeting Trixie and Maud and reestablishing her relationship with Sunburst. WolfPack Leader Cozy Glow was worse than Starlight. She is a sociopath who has shown herself to be incapable of feeling remorse or becoming better and reforming. Starlight realized she was in the wrong and made a genuine effort to atone for her crimes, something that would be impossible for Cozy Glow. The girl was too dangerous and unrepentant to not keep her locked up. She got what she deserved.

Well how do you up the ante of a villain in a children's show about pascal colored ponies, make antisocial personality disorder cannon. Cause assuming Cozy Glow is a child and there is no other cause of her behavior, she is a natural born psychopath. She showed all the signs of the condition and at a young age it is unlikely she would have been conditioned into it. And the fact she is thrown into Tartarus with no parents coming to protest shows that any parents may be dead, possibly by her hand or are so estranged from her due to her condition that they would agree with the punishment and for good reason.

There's also a possibility that she doesn't have any parents at all. My personal theory is that she's a demon from another realm, who has been trapped into a body of a little filly Pegasus by someone who thought that this will stop her from being dangerous. Unfortunately, she found her way around it due to her manipulative skills. Instead of her using dark magic, she can manipulate others into doing that for her. During her first villainous monologue, she used the phrase "you ponies", which could be a hint that she doesn't consider herself to be a pony, revealing that she might be something else. Also it makes me wonder what "other realm" she had in mind when she tried to send all that magic from Equestria to that place. And for whom? ;>

And again, if they bring up a twist that shows Cozy Glow is anything more than just a very disturbed filly that's fine. But with that cliffhanger ending, you know that her story is not finished. I get a feeling that the show is going to bring back Cozy Glow, Tirek, Chrysalis and other villains together to form some kind of Legion of Doom to challenge Equestria which will likely be responsible for the return of Grogar, perhaps Grogar will have a power that can cancel out the tree of harmony. Whether his return will benefit or harm the other villains, who knows? I am excited to see what is going to happen.

It may seem cruel to give a child such a punishment, but given the circumstances it seemed appropriate to punish her the way they would an adult who did this. The main thing people have against giving children this severe of a punishment is that they're most often too young to even understand the scope of what they did and just made a mistake on an impulse. This was not such a case, as this entire event was thoroughly planned. It is very rare, but young children have sometimes done evil deeds with a calculated mind and sometimes months of planning. In such rare cases, they are sometimes punished as adults. I will ask one thing, though. Why Tartarus? Do they not have any other prisons?

Notice how Cozy Glow didn't give up until she quite literally couldn't move anymore - a literal checkmate. Her cutie mark makes her a chess grandmaster of the highest order. She knows each and every piece perfectly, and is an expert at manipulating them to her ends. She is also able to quickly adapt to any situation that she might not expect to appear. When Neighsay showed up, her priorities shifted. Her top priority remained the same, which was to keep the magic circle a secret, but then she focused her sights on getting Neighsay out of the way by any means necessary. There was no doubt that, if he discovered it, his knowledge of magic would likely have let him be able to understand the programming written into the circle, and safely disable it and release all of the magic. Another thing, I like to think those magic circles are kind of a magical program meant to be executed, and do much higher feats of magic than can be accomplished with just one spell or even just one artifact. Kind of like a computer program but with magic. Running at all times is a field to detect when the circle is touched, which will trigger arms to reach down and pull whoever touches it into the orb. Also running at all times are instructions linking the provided magical artifacts in such a way as to attract all the magic in Equestria. Once the orb has reached a sufficient size and volume, there is a circuit routing some of that magic in a spell that opens up a portal to the Ether. Opening the portal to the Ether will break most of the circle, but the outer ring is still present, so there are instructions there to start pulling the orb down through the Portal. I imagine there's probably an instruction in the inner part of the circle that nullifies the outer ring, but that is lost when it gets sucked into the Ether.

OMG I JUST HAD AN IDEA Twilight seemed genuinely surprised that the Key of Unfettered Entrance broke after one use, implying that probably wasn't what she knew about the Key. What if Cozy Glow went so far as to make a single-use copy of the Key specifically to give to Twilight? We know that artifacts can be copied, as it was confirmed by Stygian, so imagine if she made a lesser copy of it to serve her purposes! It still was just as powerful as the original Key, and could open any door in the universe, but as it couldn't be both as powerful and as durable, she made the copy spell maximize power at the expense of durability.

A lot of people think Cozy Glow isn't a pony, but what if she is, but isn't a filly? What is she had a condition like systemic hypoplasia like Mary Dahl did in Batman, the animated series episode "Baby Doll". A better example would be Gary Colman. When he passed away at the age of 42, he still looked like a 12 year old kid. Cozy could be just as old as Twilight but her body never grew up. All her planning and manipulation of others sound to mature for a filly to do. Not even Diamond Tiara was ever that manipulative. Being an adult trapped in a child body could make her become mentally unstable...

This comment is me explaining why I believe Cozy Glow’s punishments to be justified. It isn’t specifically a response to anything in this video, just something that I’ve needed to say since I first heard people talking about how cruel Cozy glow’s punishments are. I apologize in advance for wasting anyone’s time, but this is the place I decided to post it. If anyone wants to copy this mini essay and post it elsewhere, go ahead. The fact that many people believe Cozy Glow’s punishments to be unjustified or extreme is exactly why they are necessary. When left to her own devices, she’s just as much of a threat as any of the other villains in the show, maybe even more so because she understands how friendships work. I’ll break down why they are necessary into 4 reasons, though I could think of more: Exposure, Sympathy, Repentance, and Danger. First is exposure: she spent a significant amount of time in the school of friendship, learning from the mane 6 and a reformed villain. She knows all about friendship, which can’t be said for any of the other villains that were reformed, and she learned about the reformation of other villains besides. She had access to the very thing that causes all of the past reformations to begin with, and still proceeded with her plan. That brings us to repentance, of which she had none. When Twilight asked her why she did it, it was the same sort of thing that lead to Starlight’s reformation, that was Twilight’s way of trying to get her to open up, her chance to show remorse and be welcomed into the RVC (Reformed Villain’s Club). Her response to this olive branch, and her justification of her actions? ‘I wanted to be more powerful than you’. Her unrepentant nature lead to her punishment, being sent to Tartarus (which she didn’t seem all that upset about). Many people believed that it was cruel to do that to a ‘child’, which is exactly why it had to be done. If you locked her in a normal prison, she would’ve talked her way out; the amount of Cozy Glow sympathizers that exist in OUR world, where they have seen the extent of her deviousness and manipulation, shows that her cute facade can even fool those who are aware of her nature. In Equestria, the land of forgiveness and redemption, imagine how many ponies would feel the same. All of this builds up how dangerous she really is. She was able to do all of this, getting further than most of the other villains did, as a child. She was just beginning her life of villainy, and she already came up with a plan that would’ve succeeded if she didn’t get arrogant; she didn’t have to do that ritual underneath the school, but did so because it would be fitting, she didn’t have to continue to visit the basement (which is the thing that gave her away), but did so to gloat. She would’ve succeeded if she didn’t make a singular mistake, and all three magic in Equestria would be gone forever. Think about what that would mean, considering magic runs the world in MLP. The day/night cycle would stop, food preservation would fail, the tree of harmony would die, machines would stop working, and who knows what else. She was planning to remove the thing that everyone in the world depended on, simply so that she could become the most influential pony in Equestria; her plan was like causing the apocalypse solely so you could rule over the survivors. Tirek was sent to Tartarus for lesser crimes, and wasn’t given any chances at redemption by the mane 6 despite likely being more reformable. Once again, she’s a child, and this was her very first evil plan. I imagine if you let her grow up, she’d make Sombra’s methods look adorable by comparison. I honestly believe that Cozy Glow is the most evil villain in MLP:FiM, and definitely the most irredeemable. Second place in that regard would be Sombra, and third would be Chrysalis. The most apt comparison to another villain would be Palpatine, as they are quite similar in methodology and personality. I absolutely love Cozy Glow as a villain, because she represents the most devious type of evil: undeserved empathy. The quickest way to turn people against each other is to make them believe they are being heroic by protecting a victim.

I freaking loved Cozy Glow. Might actually be my favorite villain now from MLP. XD She did everything right except for not getting out of there when the tree interfered. I was also really impressed with her level of manipulation and I loved how she was at odds with another "villain". Kind of had more grey area which is nice to see rather then stark good and evil characters. It was great seeing her outsmart everyone. I always like the clever villains who use their mind rather than brute force. So fitting that her cutie mark is a chess peace. I however, don't see much of a future for her. The one drawback of her manipulation is that now everyone knows she is manipulative, and simply wont trust her. That said though, she could potentially rally up the remaining villains who have a common interest to take over Equestria and play them like a fiddle. I suppose we shall wait and see. Great reaction all around though! It was a pleasure to to watch.

51:20 It always gives me chills when she asks Tirek this, but I just thought of why. This filly has just been imprisoned in Tartarus *and doesn't even look worried!* If anything, she's already scheming and planning her next move. A major theory floating around is that there will be a great way between the villains and Equestria + allies. After seeing this, I would not be surprised in the least if Cozy Glow is the one who unites the villains. She did say she would "make friends" without Twilight's lessons. I am officially giddy and impatiently await season 9!

One thing I want to point out is that Cozy Glow is older then she looks. The school of friendship is akin to boarding high-school. All the students are teenager equivalents. You can see it in the more adult designs of the other pony students. The CMC are probably younger then Cozy by a year or two.

Introducing us to a very young psychopath, and putting an underaged kid in hell. ... Why am I thinking of The Good Son all of a sudden? And yeah, there is a much bigger hint of her return. Just hope she's not a throwaway like Fluttershy's fang or Castle Mane-ia. And you got one more "episode" to get through. Happy Holidays!

The tragedy of psychopathy is that there really is nothing that can be done to solve it. Cozy Glow is incapable of repentance, and unable to feel remorse for what she has done because she will never be able to see it as wrong- at best she will only feel remorse over having failed. She may just be a young child, but she has absolutely no hope of redemption. I honestly do feel bad for her, she didn't choose to be this way and she really can't help it. She's where she belongs, but it will always be tragic that she belongs there.

“AACCCKKKK!” she screamed again. “What are these things?!” She wiggled the weird little appendages…digits?...where her hooves used to be. They looked almost like the claws of a dragon or griffon or hippogriff, except more round and less…claw-like? It was at this point that panic was starting to set in, and not just because her hooves had been seemingly replaced by these…things…but also because she couldn’t feel her wings fluttering against her sides anymore. “They’re called hands.” She looked up into the face of…she wasn’t sure what it was. It stood on two legs, wore lots of clothing, and had orange fur…no, make that skin…and also had an orange mane. The face was all scrunched up with a tiny nose, like somepony had smashed the muzzle with a pancake skillet. The creature was leaning over her, smiling in welcome and extending a…hand?...down towards her in…greeting? There were several other creatures standing alongside the orange one, each one the same body type, but with different clothes and each one a different skin color. “Welcome. My name is Sunset Shimmer, and you’re going to be living here with me for a while.”

While I think that Cosy's real punishment fits her crimes, mainly due to the fact that magic could be keeping fatally injured or ill ponies alive in hospitals and in taking away the magic Cosy likely killed a few ponies, I love this alternative way of dealing with her! It isolates Cosy Glow from the ability to use magic like locking her up in Tartarus does, but leaves some room for her to be given the help and stability she clearly needs as well as gives her some positive role models to look up to. The only problem anyone could really have with this is that Cosy's power comes from her silver tongue instead of her innate magic, but Equestrian magic works in the EQ world, so a magical amulet or band on her leg or arm that she can't take off that lets everyone know when they're being deceived by her wouldn't be out of the realm of the possible! Well done!

Children are tried as adults a lot more often than people may think. There was a case over 10 years ago, where two ten-year-old boys kidnapped, tortured, molested, and murdered a 3-year-old boy. They were tried in court as adults and sentenced to life in prison. Though, to be fair, they went to Juvenal hall first until they turned 18, then went to prison. If a child intentionally commits a severe enough crime, they can and will be tried as an adult. I think this is actually great to put into a kids show. Because of this "they're just a kid" mentality have given some of the more dangerous kids allowance to do whatever they want. This shows that even kids, if performing acts that are serious enough, still get punished as severely.

Since watching this episode, I've come to realise the actual reason she was sent to Tartarus. She didn't apologize or express regret. That seems to be the common link in the redeemed villains so far, or the characters given a second chance. Saying sorry goes a long way in Equestria apparently. She was punished because she openly stated she wanted to do it all again somewhere else, so she had to be contained.

And here we are at last: the finale of another season of MLP! It’s been a crazy one: full of great episodes, good episodes, and some people might not want to revisit for one reason or another. Still, those do become better after a few rewatches and hearing others’ thoughts. You yourself always find a way to put a positive spin on something I’ve been doubting. =) Besides that, we got to see some great new locations and meet some awesome new characters, not the least of which being the Young 6. We’ve followed them throughout this whole season, watching them grow and develop into amazing, lovable characters. We also have the detestable Neighsay and the mysterious Cozy Glow, both characters we all had a feeling would have a further part to play before the season ends. With this being a two-parter, I’ll therefore divide my comments into two parts, random notes included. =P Part 1 This might have been the worst peril Equestria’s been in so far. Magic’s disappearing all over, and would soon be completely gone in 3 days, according to Star Swirl. Given his past track record, Tirek seems the most likely culprit, and the Mane 7 decide to head to Tartarus and find out if he is. After managing to get there through magic-less ingenuity and a convenient magical key (which unfortunately leaves them trapped inside), they discover that not only have the creatures inside already lost their powers, but that Tirek is not responsible for the crisis after all. Well, at least, not directly, as he _has_ been directing his own ‘protege’ on the outside. With the Mane 7 gone, this leaves Starlight in charge of the school. It really shows how much Twi’s grown to trust her with something she values so much, especially after what happened with Discord. She also has Cozy Glow as her assistant. Cozy herself was making a point to outdo herself in helpfulness from the beginning, having now gained a position as Twilight’s personal helper, while still remaining as mysterious and enigmatic as ever. Suspicions begin to grow around her, though, when she assumes full control of the school by the next day, claiming Starlight left to help the others. In spite of this, she quickly makes herself well-liked among the other students, seemingly to take their mind off the impending danger. The Young 6, particularly Smolder, aren’t completely taken in, though, especially after they spot Cozy coming out of the catacombs that led them to Harmony only a few episodes ago. As Bloo would “ _Suspiiiiicioooouuuus!_ “ Things go from bad to worse when Neighsay arrives, having come to warn Twilight of the magic crisis (and thinking the creature students were involved), and deciding to take her place after finding her off on another adventure. At first, I thought it was confirmation that he and Cozy _were_ in cahoots with each other, but Cozy’s indignant behavior at the changes he planned to make scrapped that notion. To make matters worse still, the Young 6 are captured and imprisoned, but Sandbar manages to cleverly convince Neighsay to let him go, pretending to forsake his friends. He recruits the Cutie Mark Crusaders to help him out, and they go below the school, to find a horrible sight… Starlight has been imprisoned in a magical bubble, powered by the six artifacts Celestia lent to the school, and which is siphoning the magic from Equestria. And the one behind it all? _Cozy Glow_ . ...I didn’t want to believe that she was evil. I wanted to believe she was simply a misguided pawn, misled by the bigotry of Neighsay and believing she was acting for the best. But no. She’s truly a manipulative, cold-hearted, scheming sociopath who has come to believe that friendship is the most powerful force in Equestria. By getting rid of the magic in Equestria through Tirek’s instructions, and with Twilight and her friends trapped in Tartarus, she plans to take over the School of Friendship, and by token of having so many ponies under her control, she’ll be the most powerful pony in Equestria, as the Empress of Friendship. Already, we see the flaws in her mentality. She doesn’t care about friendship beyond it being a means to an end, a way to prop herself up and give her a position over others. What she sees as ‘friends’ are nothing more than collectibles, pawns, and puppets for her to manipulate and twist to her bidding. The scary thing about all of it is not simply her means of achieving her goal, but the fact that’s only a child, and not even a unicorn. One has to wonder what the hell happened to make her turn out like this… Random notes: -Glad you went into this completely blind. =) -An appearance from Derpy's always a good way to start an episode -Always nice to see some fan OCs pop up every now and then. =) -Who would've guessed Silverstream did crossword puzzles? -That Twi freak out. Some things never change, lol -"She's very good at manipulating the Elements." Ominous foreshadowing -"She's in close." Well, you know what they say: 'keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.' -Nice callback to Tanks for the Memories. =P -I'm not fond of heights either, Yona. -How many times is Yona gonna be put in life-threatening danger?... -That PMV song is too perfect for Cozy Glow, the Filly from Hell -"So is the school gonna be razed by just her falling through it?" Yak best at being wrecking ball? -There's something hilariously adorable about Yona's huffy little stance after Gallus and Ocellus save her. -Funny, I never even considered Chrysalis' magic-sapping throne. -Wow, this episode was apparently the gift that kept on giving for you, setting you up for innuendos, lol -The whole 'maybe you did your spell wrong' thing is hilarious, from Starlight's 'are you kidding me' face to her throwing it back at Twi. XD -'The Great and Powerful Trrrixie has great experience in making objects disappear and reappear, but I've never managed it with magic itself." -I was half-expecting Spike to hack up a hairball. Poor kid. -'A conflict to solve without any magic.' Just like the raid on Chrysalis' hive. -It always has to be in 3 days or by midnight, doesn't it? -"I finally learned that it's ok to count on your friends for help!" Atta girl, Twi! Besides, they'd never let you go alone. =) -"So we're going to a zoo!" Most zoos don't house creatures that could turn you to stone, tho. =P -"Starlight can't stand mustard." I like mustard just fine, but I prefer ketchup myself. =P -"Once you survive Discord, anything else is a piece of cake." True that, little buddy. -"Is this like a little bit of a hiccup?" Unfortunately, Cozy has her own cure for 'hiccups'... -Man, it's almost scary how on the ball you were, guessing Starlight was in the catacombs. -"Is nobody gonna scrutinize this harder that a child is in charge?" Well, personally, I'm being reminded of the second Captain Underpants book, where a major plot point was George and Harold wanting to be Principals for a Day. -Figures Rarity would never deign to use her tail in a way that wasn't fabulous. =P -"Wow, your society relies so much on magic!" Well, as they don't seem to use much electricity, it seems only natural. -Um, yeah, what did ya _think_ would happen, Fatty Pie? -Earth pony ingenuity, with a bit of pegasus thrown in. =) -"The magic of friendship, yo!" It's never failed yet. =) -"Bouncy curls!" I think Smolder's just jelly that her frills aren't the same as a mane. =P -The entrance to Tartarus reminds me very much of the Thousand-Year Door. -If that pizza trick of Pinkie's had actually worked...XD -The Key of Unfettered Entrance. How narratively convenient. -"Well, you're trapped in hell." Technically, it's a prison full of beasts one would _expect_ to find in hell, but... -"I know it should make me feel safer, but it just makes me sad." I agree, Spike. The poor beasts don't deserve this. -It took me a little longer to realize Neighsay and Cozy weren't actually in cahoots with each other. A nice twist. -Where would we be without Fluttershy? =( -Ok, cool it down, Hannibal Lecter. -And just how did Neighsay intend to rationalize the Young 6 stealing magic? -'From now on, this school is pony only, as nature intended...' Absolutely infuriating... -Sandbar, you clever fella. I'm proud of ya. -Uh, Sandbar? Usually you throw rocks at a window to get someone's attention. -All of this because Tirek decided to answer Cozy's letters, because he was bored. -Starlight was already nerfed by having her magic taken away, but she was still a sufficient threat to Cozy's plan, and had to be nerfed even further. -The true face of evil... -"That is an insane plot, my dear!" I'm sure she'd thank you for saying that. -"The future Empress of Friendship!" A child-like empress. Not the first time we've seen that, lol -Friendship is Magic: Always going with Column C. =) To be continued...

I'm now fully aware of the main factor that led to Cozy being locked up. She didn't repent or apologize, which is opposite to the characters who were given a second chance. Remorse seems to be a very effective bargaining chip in Equestria, so Cozy kinda slipped up by not faking it XD

No magic, only smarts! Let's face it, every major villain so far has been magical. Cozy is the first that has no magical abilities, and just has to rely on her wits, cunning, and silver tongue, and she does it PERFECTLY! Everything she has done in this season, meeting the CMC, enrolling at the school, slowly rising in the ranks, learning about the artifacts, was all PLANNED! She may be the smartest villain we've had! And she's a DARLA DIMPLE PONY!!!!

This wasn't quite one of my favorite two-parters, or seasons for that matter, but there is a lot that I love about it. In terms of arc-building and general plotting this is arguably the best put together season of the show to date, with so many different elements being introduced and expanded upon throughout the season that all came together beautifully throughout the finale. To recap where we've come from and where we are now, we've got this entirely new location that has been developed throughout the season. On top of that we have eight new characters of focus, the students, Cozy, and the now fully sentient Tree. Each of them were given time throughout the season to build their characters and let the viewers get to know them, and all of them are clearly not done by the end of this season. I have no doubt that the students will be even more important in season 9. I strongly suspect that they will be a new interspecies group of elements. As you said Cozy is clearly not done, and if she's coming back we can be sure that Tirek will be coming back as well. Aside from that Chrysalis is still at large. The final season is shaping up to be something spectacular. Unlike you I don't expect some sort of pony war. I think there is a chance we will get some sort of villain team-up kind of affair, with the three of them at a minimum. Best case scenario there would be six of them. Well, maybe a new character for a fourth could be introduced in the premiere. A fifth could perhaps be Sombra if they find a way to bring him back? And this is perhaps wishful thinking, but I really hope they bring in Grogar to be the main or head villain. Then we could have this consortium work to some ultimate end, each filling in different roles in a classic five or six villain band kind of thing. Then the Mane 7 and the Young 6 would have to defeat them together and the Young 6 would ascend to their rightful positions. What I guess could happen regardless of all that is that Cozy could be reformed by the Young 6, since she is still just a kid and because we still know nothing about her background, and this could be their way of showing their worthiness. Then the Mane 6 could deal with the main threat of the other villains. I'd totally watch all that. But what I am sure of for next season is: Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis are all coming back. They may work together, and the Young 6 will once again play a major part in their defeat, probably with Cozy being reformed. The Tree will likely play an even bigger role next season than this one, and there is a great possibility of it passing the torch to the students. Then, at the end, the show has to end on a song. And it will be brilliant. There is one other thing that occurred to me about Cozy's punishment: it was Luna and Celestia that put her in Tartarus. It has been shown multiple times that unlike Twilight and the Mane 6 Celestia has been harsher towards villains, from Nightmare Moon to Discord to Tirek. And it makes sense, because she learned from Star Swirl, and that's what he always did. In that sense I suppose it makes sense character wise, but it was clearly a very stupid move to put her right there next to Tirek, especially since she didn't seem to be bothered by it at all. I think Celestia like Star Swirl might have to finally come to terms that this isn't the right way to do things, not just because it isn't ethical but because it isn't practical. I really hope they address that because it could be a great character moment.

12:40 You were pretty much correct. Except that if she simply threw her into the catacombs, I'm pretty sure Starlight would be able to teleport herself out of there easily. So the only part missing was something magical that would contain her in there ;J 14:18 Said by Human whose society relies so much on thunder magic :q (what you called it? electricity?...) 16:18 Speaking of thunder magic... the patterns on this door to Tartarus also remind me the patterns you draw on printed circuit boards in Human World. What you call it? Electronics? The thing that helps you control where the thunder magic flows into those dark crystals of King Sombra? (except you call them "silicon" for some weird reason :q ) It also reminds me of Lemarchand's Box from "Hellraiser" ;J 16:30 That was the dumbest remark in this finale, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight's face is a great confirmation of that ;) 16:46 By "before" you mean your previous visit to the Tartarus? :P Or just previous times you exercised this trick? 17:07 Yeah, definitely not a trap ;J 18:06 I knew that BeeBear is from hell :J 18:58 Yeah, way to twist your expectations eh? ;) 20:18 Another dumb remark by Rainbow Dash? Are you trying to win some prize for the dumbest pony of the year or something? :q 22:14 Well, glad that he didn't reach for the rest of his options down there :J 24:36 I wonder WHICH another realm though? ;> 24:50 She said that about the Element of Magic.

Is it not a well known fact that Electronics are magic? "The core of a computer is a small trapped evil spirit (it is no coincidence that UNIX and GNU/Linux processes are called daemons!) This imp is imprisoned in your computer as punishment for something it did in the netherworld. Generally speaking, the more evil the imp is, the faster the computer is. There are also lesser ghosts and hobgoblins that inhabit the expansion cards and peripherals of your computer. These evil spirits are trapped within the hardware of your computer. Take a screwdriver, open up your computer, and take a look at the circuit boards. They are usually green, and are covered with complex patterns of thin copper lines. These are Circuit Runes, written in arcane and ancient languages that describe the magic spells that bind the imps to the chips. Be very careful with circuits. If you scratch off even the tiniest bit of the runes, the spell will be broken, and the imp will escape." james.hamsterrepublic.com/technomancy/

Haha good one :) I know I read this text somewhere in the past, probably in some book about computers. But thanks for reminding me :) OK, on to part 2... 31:42 About that prize... :J 32:18 When you're a siamese twin and one of your twin brothers is gay... :q... 37:45 And this is where she made her first mistake: she revealed her plan to another pony. A perfect villain does that only a minute before killing you :q 39:08 But she threw him down anyway :J 39:35 Yup, I loved the plot in this finale so much, precisely because of that - of how they used all the characters with their own separate subplots conflicting with each other and switching sides :> 40:04 He's like Snape of MLP :) 44:50 Yup, kinda confirms my theory about where did all those chimeras in the Everfree Forest came from, as a result of experimenting with the omniomorphic spell ;> 45:13 Wow, and you were _that_ close from realizing that the Sun and the Moon can move on their own, without Celestia and Luna having to "control" them :J (because who moves them now, when Celestia and Luna have lost their magic too? ;> ) 46:32 So at least one of Twilight's visions from Season 7 premiere was kinda foreshadowing: the transmutation circle opening a black hole sucking magic to another realm :q 46:50 Now you sound like my priest when I asked him about some contradictions I found in the Christian Bible :) 47:13 But it kept Starlight in there ;q 51:48 Where else should've we put her? :q The Tartarus is the only place where she can't do much harm to anypony. She clearly showed that she doesn't regret what she did, and even more: she stated that if she can't do that here, she WILL do that somewhere else. Which means that she's not redeemable, so the Tartarus is the only option for her, because that's where we put all the non-redeemable villains. Also, I wouldn't be so sure that she's a "child". She may look like one, but she doesn't act like one, and she even said "you ponies" during her monologue, basically revealing that she might be not a pony herself. My theory is that she's some sort of a demon trapped in a body of a filly Pegasus by someone who wanted to limit her ability to use magic or do any harm to others. Unfortunately, she found a way around it: by being manipulative and convincing other ponies to do all the dirty job for her. 55:30 Well, the Tartarus in MLP is not mich of a "hell", it's more like a magical prison. You know, for creatures that could easily use their magical powers to escape any normal prison. The Tartarus is a prison that is protected by magic so that magical creatures couldn't escape. And it's only for the non-redeemable villains.

Heh! Acrophobia is one of the few major fears none of the Student 6 had to face in "What Lies Beneath" but they sure took care of THAT one in the cold open here, didn't they? Everyone assumes Cozy's just being dumped in a cage and forgotten, but come on, this is Equestria. She's getting a maximum-security time out, simply because she is so dangerous, but it's not like she got turned to stone or imprisoned within the moon. Chances are, Season 9 (sobs and curses hysterically) will start off with the princesses coming to a decision about what to ACTUALLY do with her.

There's something I still don't get. Twilight's been to the gates of Tartarus before. She knew that to open it would require magic. But unicorn magic is disappearing. So then why didn't she think to pack an item like the key with her? She didn't know Cosy packed it in her inventory but she went ahead anyway. What did she think she was going to do when she got there??? She must've been really banking on the seal to be broken, but shouldn't she pack that skeleton key just in case? I thought Twilight was the more prepared type.

Something I didn't even think about. Twilight become Celestia's student, and later saved her flank after getting captured, with the help of friends that she's made. Later, Starlight became Twilight's student, then went on to save Twilight's flank after *she* got captured in the S6 finale with the help of friends she's made. And now, the cycle continues by *Starlight* getting captured and got saved by *her* students in this finale, who recently became friends. All we need to make the cycle complete is for Starlight to become an Alicorn. She's already done several things that Twilight (especially as a Unicorn) did, so why not give her the Larson treatment too? Lol

Cozy's actions would in our world equal something akin to taking away all the electricity in the world, except if electricity was actually necessary for life itself to work and also naturally inside every person which would make it way more personal. Her actions would literally probably kill all ponies and likely destroy the entire world. If somebody tried to do something like that in our world, and not only was as cunning as Cozy is, but also showed absolutely no remorse and would do it all over again the moment they got a chance to, I'm sure they would get locked up somewhere of maximum security, child or not. Interesting note about the Tree of Harmony saving the day; I think there's actually a deeper meaning and reason as to why that happened. Well, a combination of a couple of reasons. First off, all the magical artifacts came from different nations, all of which corresponded to where the students were from. Normally they would've been trapped in the magical orb, but I think Cozy's spell itself backfired because the students together were connected to each of the artifacts, to the point once they were released they even were magically guided to their own artifacts. Secondly, I think that worked in combination with the Tree's power, because the other students were starting to realise how wrong Cozy's actions were, and they wanted to rescue the Student 6. The friendship and the morals of the Elements they had within them gave power to the Tree to connect itself to Cozy's spell and rescue the day. The whole thing can seem really deus ex machina, but I actually think there is a reason behind what happened and it's actually pretty well thought out and detailed if you pay attention. All in all, it was a really good finale. The only problems I had were mostly small nitpicks in the first part. Some of the dialogue in that one seemed a bit poorly written, and there being a "magical key to open any door" seemed a bit too convenient for the sake of the plot. In fact, this goes back to the first problem that it probably wouldn't have felt so convenient if the dialogue for that part had been written better. Other than that, everything was pretty much excellent.

I know this is going to sound clichè but I really think S9 is going to culminate with the triple threat of Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, and Tirek being defeated by all the forces of equestria being the elements of harmony, the princesses, the pillars, the students, and every other magical force in equestria in some Infinity War esque final battle as a final send off. That’s my wish, and i think it might happen, but if S9 is truly the end than I hope they also give a heartfelt send off to this ride that MLP: Friendship is Magic was and still is. It’s Christmas Eve rn and that means we’ve got about 3-4 months until it begins, I’m going to make an effort to watch the whole show through back again and see the entire canon as is, just to see how much lore and story the show has built off of. It’s really incredible when you think about it and I can’t wait to see what happens next. P.S. Luffy you’re one of my favorite reactors to watch and I always smile/get a pleasure out of watching you react, thank you and merry Christmas 👏

This was an amazing finale! It did so much right: it had a nice A-Plot/B-Plot structure, it allowed the Student Six to shine, we got to see Tartarus in full, we got to see Tirek again after four Seasons, and above all else, the episode completely flipped my expectations on their head; going into this episode, I was expecting Neighsay to be the villain in a ploy to turn ponies against the other races and would be punished in some fashion (at the very least by being removed as head of the EEA), Cozy Glow would be working for him but turn against him and be redeemed, and Tirek would be a red herring, but most of that was completely turned over. Neighsay was not the villain, had nothing to do with the magic disappearing, and had a believable arc and redemption that was one of my absolute favorite aspects of the episode, Cozy was the villain (and an incredibly manipulative one at that), was working directly against Neighsay, and turned out to be remorseless (which is why, despite her being a child, I had no issues with her being put in Tartarus, especially with the severity of what she did), and Tirek was her accomplice and essentially the greater-scope villain of the episode. The only aspect I didn't like was how the CMC were basically shafted; I'd been hoping that they would play a bigger role in a two-parter, but they barely did anything. Despite that, however, this was still a fantastic finale, and overall, I'd say Season 8 is my third-favorite Season after Seasons 6 and 7.

I find littleshyfim had a point. He ended up being generic racist guy, and I wish they did more with him. However Cozy glow was amazing as a villian, I kept going back and forth on whether or not I should trust her throughout the season. Anyways I couldn't hate Neighsayer enough for him to be on a shit list, but seeing as how maturely he changed when he realized what was going on, I say forgiveness is worth it. It didn't feel contrived or anything (Thank god they didn't write it so that Cozy was reformed, though if she returns... shame) like some villians might feel sometimes. His change was natural and made sense considering how he was so against Twilight and her version of magic/friendship being for anyone, and not just ponies. The moment he saw the non-ponies helping and that it was a pony behind everything made sense in how it isn't non ponies who are the enemy. He realized his mistake and apologized for it. I'd say that's worth forgiveness. Admitting when you screw up is hard.

Part 2 Things look pretty bleak. The Mane 7 are trapped in Tartarus with a gloating Tirek, Chancellor Neighsay has assumed control of the School of Friendship, and Cozy Glow is sucking the magic out of Equestria, with Starlight trapped in the magic prison bubble acting as the magnet. Approaching the bubble causes it to try and pull the intruder inside like her, and there’s nopony the Young 6 and the Crusaders can contact to help them, leaving them on their own. As perhaps their last hope, and after freeing his friends (thereby proving he’d never abandon them), he hits upon the idea to get Neighsay to help them, reasoning that once he knows the truth about Cozy, he’d be able to help. I was surprised at this notion at first, but then again, I really should’ve expected that they’d find a way to make him get over his xenophobia. Things get more complicated, though, as when Neighsay publicly announces his way of running things, Cozy manages to turn the tables on him. She twists what he says and reminds the school of his previous attempt to ruin the School of Friendship, turning the rest of the student body against him, whereupon they chain him up in Twilight’s office. More than one fellow reactor has stated that she would make a great politician, for better or for worse. But perhaps this was for the best, as Neighsay can now see Cozy’s true colors for himself, realizing that what he feared would come from the creatures Equestria has befriended is coming true, but as the result of a _pony’s_ actions instead… Of course, it leads to the perfect kind of poetic justice as the Young 6 go to free Neighsay while the Crusaders keep Cozy distracted. While Yona pushing him over in the chair was kind of deserved, they proved to him that friendship is as natural to them as it is for ponies, and that Cozy needs to be stopped. Luckily, his EEA medallion has enough power to give him a one-way trip to Canterlot to warn the princesses, and I’ll never forget that look he gives the 6 before he leaves. It’s clear he wants to both thank them and apologize for his actions, but he knows there’s no time. He really does have Equestria’s best interests at heart, even if he was rather extreme. Meanwhile, in Tartarus, Twilight’s hit upon a plan to free herself and her friends. Even if the creatures inside have lost their powers, there’s still a magic that makes them amalgamations of other animals, and she plans to use that to her advantage. She has Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity distract Cerberus, has Fluttershy rally the creatures, and has Pinkie ‘persuade’ Tirek to help them, since he hadn’t thought of the fact that trapping the Mane 7 means making them his permanent prison-mates. With everything in place, she gathers all the magic in Tartarus, separating the creatures into their animal components, and sets herself and her friends free. A very clever plan, but unfortunately, they have no time to get back to Ponyville before magic disappears forever. It looks like even after all that, they failed… The situation at the school isn’t much better. Cozy manages to get the Crusaders off her tail, rounds up the pony students, and corners the Young 6 as they attempt to free Starlight and stop the magic siphoning. The little filly from Hell manages to convince the other students that the 6 are the ones behind the crisis, and turns them on them. In the scuffle, the 6 end up trapped in the bubble as well, trying to save each other, just as Cozy’s vortex opens to suck the magic away… I don’t blame you for being so wowed: she was unbelievably clever in setting all this up. She could’ve easily won, and that’s scary. However, the pony students recognize the teachings of the Mane 6 in the Young 6’s act of self-sacrifice, and how it would be against what they were taught to abandon them. Cozy shows her true self to them by dismissing and trivializing the Elements of Harmony. A huge mistake, as Harmony rescues Starlight and the Young 6, freeing the latter from the bubble and briefly granting them the power of the Elements. They truly _are_ the successors to the Mane 6! And then, in spite of the danger of blowing up the school from the magical feedback, they clear the other students out and remove the artifacts, destroying the magnet and returning magic everywhere in Equestria, where it belongs. I’m proud of those kids. =) With Equestria, the school, and Starlight safe, Cozy’s plan is up in smoke, and she’s forced to face the Mane 7, who now know the whole truth, and are _NOT_ happy. More than that, however, Twilight feels hurt that Cozy turned out the way she did, and feels responsible for not being able to teach her the true meaning of friendship. However, as the Young 6 rightfully pointed out, one bad student doesn’t make you a failure as a teacher; the six of them are proof of the effectiveness of her teachings, and she should never doubt herself. Cozy, for her part, had learned nothing, and intends to try again elsewhere, only to be stopped by the students, Neighsay and the princesses, and the whole royal guard, and she’s placed under arrest. And so, we start to wrap things up. The Young 6 feel like they deserve to graduate after saving Equestria, but Twilight points out they still have a ways to go in spite of that. Sorry, kids. =P Neighsay apologizes for his actions and for how he treated Twilight and the 6, having now realized that friendship isn’t exclusive to ponies, and understanding it can take a lifetime. And, as Twilight pointed out, if learning it were easy, there’d be no need for the school. And the poor Crusaders only now get out of their trap. I do wish they hadn’t been so easily duped, but at least they actually got to appear and take part in a finale for once. And what about Cozy? She’s earned herself a spot right next to Tirek’s cage in Tartarus. For those who still question the morality of sending a child there, I think it’s justified. She endangered all of Equestria, was fully aware of her actions, showed no remorse, and was intending on doing it again. Justice in Equestria truly is blind, as you said. However, something tells me we’ve by no means seen the last of her… An awesome finale to an awesome season! Glad to have gone on this ride with you as always, Luffy! =)

Random notes: -I needed at least a day after Part 1 before I tackled Part 2. My throat and brain were utterly exhausted, lol -You can really feel the hurt and betrayal Twilight’s going through because of Cozy’s duplicity. After all, she trusted her enough to make her her assistant… -Dash is gonna be feeling _ that_ tomorrow. Ouch. -I don’t think we ever _did_ get an explanation as to why Cerberus went on the loose in Season 2. -Neighsay clearly had no idea how much good the adventures the Mane 6 ‘galavanted off to’ did, if he kept trivializing them. -“Another in a long list mistakes the Princess of Friendship has made.” Oooh, burn. -Those creepy magic hands...How dare they try to nab Sweetir Belle... -Yona and Silverstream believe in Sandbar. =) -“But now I need to go the hospital, because you broke a rib.” A glomp from a yak must be like a hug from Hagrid: a sweet gesture, but potentially bad for your health, lol -“I love you, Cozy Glow!” She’s admittedly a very effective villain, and perhaps one of the smartest we’ve had so far, and this season gave us Anti-Twilight. -“Village Starlight would be proud!” She probably would. As for the present Starlight, she probably can’t look at or think of Cozy without remembering the pony she used to be... -“Who did you kill for that?” That’s one of those ‘I wanna know, but I don’t wanna know’ scenarios... -Man, could they lay it on any thicker how the Mane 6 are her puppets? -“Could we have her be stopped by Trixie?” That would’ve been hilarious. XD -Yona always has such a way with words. =P -Neighsay’s turnaround is both surprising and satisfying. =) -“It’s not quite ricotta.” What _ do_ they feed the prisoners in Tartarus? -“SEVEN!” Spike hates being ignored. - They’re not trapped with you, Tirek. _You’re_ trapped with _them_ ! >=) - “I would _never_ call them monsters.” I don’t wanna tell her she just did. -The whole bit with Pinkie and Tirek is hilarious. I love Pinkie, but an eternity with her at her most hyper would be torture. Then again, I feel that, like the Animaniacs, she only ramps up the annoyance factor for those who deserve it. -“We should have an ice cream social every day!” Rarity would approve. =P -Poor Crusaders. They finally take part in a finale, and end up being put out of action. Cozy’s just too clever... -“I feel like TheFlamingShark right now!” Having seen his videos, I see what you mean. =P -“Ha! Nerd!” I’m impressed, Gallus. You’re one of the smartest slackers I’ve ever met. -“So it’s like an evil Spirit Bomb.” That’d be horrifying, unless some of the massive energy balls some of the villains have used already count. -No wonder Cozy’s cutie mark is what it is. She’s playing chess while everypony else is playing checkers. -“I’ve stopped caring about these shenanigans, Pinkie, amusing as they are.” Wow. It takes a lot to not laugh at Pinkie’s silliness. -This whole sequence of Twi getting the door to open is amazing, seeing the creatures pitch in and even them separating into the animals that make up what they are. -“Move your caboose!” Granny Smith: Thats my line, sonny! -I imagine Tirek as thinking ‘If I never see that pink annoyance again, it will be too soon...” -Close call, Your Studiousness... -Starlight is so done with this, lol -Finally, some sense from the pony students. -Harmony to the rescue! -So, by token of their auras, Yona’s Honesty, Silverstream’s Laughter, Sandbar’s Kindness, Smolder’s Loyalty, Ocellus is Generosity, and Gallus is Magic. Some I expected, some not, but still awesome! =) -“Whoa, that’s cool!” I agree. =) -“Guess what? You weren’t needed.” I dunno bout that. Neighsay rounded up the princesses and the royal guard. Getting magic back just helped them get to the school quicker. -Tirek deserved that. -Of course Pinkie got some magic, because Pinkie. =P -She’s gonna give ya the laaaaazy eye! -Cozy’s mentality is like that of an overzealous Pokémon Trainer, or a collector in general. -Aww, Twi. You’re not a failure. It’s Cozy’s fault she doesn’t get it. -Finally, some female guards. The royal guard itself is finally being effective. Magnus’ doing, perhaps? -It warms my heart to see Neighsay being so genuine to Twi and the students. I’ve grown to respect him a lot more. =)” When Hell freezes over, you little demon...

So Cozy Glow was a wolf in sheep's clothing. She acted cute and helpful, while all this time she was a criminal mastermind and power hungry lunatic, like Sunset Shimmer. I think this is the first time we have seen a juvenile delinquent in the series. It's a good thing that the students, the mane 6, the princesses, and the royal guards were able to stop her, and Neighsay admitted that he was wrong about using friendship as a weapon against ponies. He might turn over a new leaf. However it's too early to celebrate. It's obvious that Cozy and Tirek will join forces to escape from Tartarus and seek revenge. And Chrysalis is still out there. If the three of them team up, Equestria is going to be in grave danger. Since Chrysalis knows where the Elements of Harmony are, if she and Tirek would absorb the elements power, not only will it give them great power, but I think they'll transform Cozy into a demon pony to make her their helper, similar to what Sunset Shimmer did to Snips and Snails. How would Cozy's parents react to that? Maybe they will appear next season, but if Cozy transforms into a demon I think they'll be scared to stop her. And if Chrysalis and Tirek find a way to revive the Storm King and King Sombra Equestria is going to be in even bigger danger. And why didn't Tempest Shadow, Queen Novo and Princess Skystar appeared in the season? It's true that Queen Novo appeared in Silver Stream's Hearth's warming story, but that dosen't matter. If Emily Blunt(Tempest's voice), Uzo Aduba(Novo's voice), and Kristin Chenoweth(Skystar's voice) are too expensive, can't the writers find cheaper voice actresses? Guess it's easier said than done. I hope Queen Novo will appear next season and she'll give Twilight and her friends magic pearl necklaces as a sign of forgiveness, a reward for defeating the Storm King, for educating her niece, and for helping her nephew decide where to live. And if the Storm King revives next season the ponies will really need the hippogriffs help. The ponies might also need the help of Tempest, and in exchange the princesses will find a way to restore her horn. Star Swirl might also assist in that. Maybe next season we'll find out how did Cozy become Tirek's protégé. Also Cozy was talking about taking the magic to another realm. I think that might have something to do with next year's March Equestria girls movie.

Not only that, but the whole Thing was premeditated by the tree. It could have zapped Cozy while she was Setting up the Transmutation circle, if it wanted too, but it waited untill after the Student six teamed up with neighsay to do so. It could also have sent its magic to the mane six and make them rainbow powered again, but it knew, that having the students save the day would make a better Point. The tree is a master strategist, after all, it knows exactly who to send on friendship missions. And is also knows WHEN to send them. Twilights first map Mission could have been done at any time, since the hooffields and mccolts were at each others throats for Generations, but it waited untill after Discord taught her About being jealous. (and it even contributed to it, by making Twilight feel left out with the other two map missions before that). The reason? Twilight Always has the idea, that SHE has to be the one to fix Things, like, writing the Musical counterspell in the second movie. It wouldnt have been out of character for ther, to Keep trying to beat Starlight in their timewar, after all, she is an alicorn, and Starlight just an unicorn. But the lesson she learned from discord allowed her to figure out a different solution. Giving up the battle and defuse Starlights Motive for being Evil in the first place. Also, in the other timelines, we saw what would have happened, if the mane six never stopped any of the threats. Shouldnt the plunderseeds be there? Unless the plunderseeds only grew, because the tree allowed them too. After all, if the mane six didnt have to give up the Elements, discord probably wouldnt have betrayed them. He only did it, cause he THOUGHT the only weapon left was the chest, that only HE was able to figure out how to unlock. Why would the tree make the chest like that, unless it wanted to create a Situation, where discord could freely choose, who to side with, and experience the results of that choice.

Alrighty then! Back once again for another reaction! This time it's Luffy Reacts: MLP Season 8 Episode 25&26 School Raze! Luffy Impression [x] Anywho, back home from watching Wreck it Ralph: Ralph Breaks the Internet (Fantastic movie! Loved every bit of it from start to finish) and now I am able to watch the second half of this reaction. I absolutely loved this finale and how it played out. Seeing that everything was playing like an ordinary day in Equestria then suddenly a epidemic sprouts where all magic is slowly fading throughout Equestria and nopony has no idea what's causing it and only to come with the idea that a villain they once feared, Tirek was able to somehow cause all this from their prison. We then come to realize that it was never him that was the cause but instead Cozy Glow herself was the master mind behind it all. You would never think that a filly. A FILLY out of all would be it. We also thought that Neigh Say was an accomplice of Cozy and it was all a plot to prove his views on creatures and that they should not be trusted and prove Twilight wrong but that was not the case. He wasn't aware that Cozy, a pony that he would never think that would be the one that would threaten Equestria and instead would be a creature but boy was he so wrong. This shows that not even your own kind can be friendly and trustworthy and the fear in Neigh Say face when he fully realizes that ponies can too be evil and a threat to others was excellent to see. It was awesome to see the big, bad Lord Tirek once again and a twist that he became an ally to a pony which you wouldn't think he would do considering how much he despises ponies. That was a nice treat to see him again. I would have to say that Cozy was a fantastic villain throughout the whole finale. She managed to pull off her plan till the end, where off course she would be ultimately defeated but still a fantastic display of her capabilities as a mastermind villain. She was able to keep her plot going despite the hiccups she had with the Mane 6, Starlight, The Crusaders and Neigh Say. She managed to work her way around them and succeeded on getting the student 6 caught and trapped in the orb until the Tree had to step in and prevent what would seem to be the inevitable defeat of our heroes. Now with Cozy Glow locked up in Tartarus and all seems dandy, this will not be the end of Cozy and Tirek. I have a feeling that these two will be back and reek havoc once more to the final season of MLP. Like what Neigh Say said about creatures using friendship as a weapon, that would be the way for the villains to use friendship by joining forces and work together and become a massive threat that will be a near impossible feat to conquer. I know we will she Chrysalis back and she could be in alliance with both Cozy and Tirek to take on our heroes but that's just a theory, I could be wrong but wouldn't that be a crazy and epic thing to see?! And then we would get all the allying kingdoms such as the Dragons, Gryffins, Hippogriffs, the reformed Changelings, Yaks and the Ponies coming together to stop the evil from becoming victorious. That would be pretty epic to see and again just as theory. All in all, awesome finale and the way they ended sets up a great foreshadowing of seeing Cozy and Tirek come back once more! Loved watching your reaction/commentary to this finale and the whole series itself. Been waiting to see yours after watching the other reactors like BronyMonster, AppleGeek, Blank Check/Slate and many others. Now I will be eagerly waiting on your reaction to The Best Gift Ever! :D

So here's what I got spoiled on this finale. Tirek's return. Also a friend blabbed and said her friend learned that Starlight became an alicorn princess. Tirek turned out to have a minor role and the bit about Starlight bit turned out to be horse shit. Wouldn't be against it though. She could be the princess of redemption or something lol. What a cool finale. Not as good as 4's finale in my books, but it puts a really good villain on the table, and we have Tirek's return on the horizon now. Bonus.

And I'm calling it now. Cozy and Tirek are going to break out and work together for a while, then as soon as she no longer has use for him, she uses her wits to completely fuck Tirek over. Then, in a shocking twist, Cozy Glow never gets reformed, but Tirek does and he reunites with his brother. That's my personal theory anyways. What I want most for the final season though is this: Tirek and Cozy meet Grogar the necromancer from G1. They team up with him as well as Chrysalis. Grogar resurrects Sombra and the Storm King and the 6 of them manage to corrupt the elements and harness the Rainbow of Darkness from G1. Season premier they take over Equestria and the whole season is going to be like Sonic Satam, with the good guys having their own freedom fighters forming a resistance. Series finale we'd get a big battle. Dragons, Yaks, Changlings, Ponies, Hippogriffs, Griffons, just everyone all bands together to defeat the villains and save Equestria, all in a battle full of callbacks. Maybe I'm getting my hopes too high, but this would be such a fucking amazing way to end the series.

And if my spam wasn't giving it away (Sorry!), this finale was really exciting for me. The story itself wasn't as good as what 4 had, but I agree with you that Cozy is a fantastic villain. I love a good psychological villain. Cozy definitely lives up to her cutie mark. The rook controls the battlefield. I'm so happy she isn't done either. Here we have a small child being banished to Hell, and even that isn't enough. Right off the bat she's planning her escape alongside one of the most dangerous creatures to ever threaten Equestria. I think you should react to Cat's Don't Dance if you've never seen it before. I feel like you'd enjoy that movie a lot. Cozy reminds me of Darla in a lot of ways as I keep saying. Darla may not be as smart with her manipulating, but she has the whole schtick of being a cute little Shirly Temple knock off on the outside with a cruel motive.

And at first, I didn't even think of how what happened to Starlight, her line of "That's...never happened before" and how she said it, and then her reaction to Twilight saying "maybe you did your spell wrong", could've been a low-key performance joke about *that* that MLP put in. Starlight Glimmer might've just become more relatable to some of the older male viewers lol

to answer your question yes children are defended by the law to an extent. if a 10 year old stabbed their mother with the intent to end her life and succeeded they would be trailed as an adult and given that sentence. however because they are younger than 16-18 depending where on where they live at least here in the us they will go to juvie and of course given the chance after they reach that age to prove they are mentally ready for the real world again. again this is the us i'm talking about i'm sure there are similar laws elsewhere. a crime like this can't just go un punished killing your mother is a pretty big deal. i don't know any place that would just slap you on the wrist and tell you not to do it again. now unless it's a super messed up crime like terrorism, mass murder or hacking the pentagon that child will still just go to juvie but crimes like those you go to a separate facility in the first place so maybe they have a child wing idk. they're probably send them to the mental ward for the first two though.

While Cozy was a great villain, with a pretty solid plan, she just rubbed me the wrong way the entire time she's been on the show so I just can't like her. (reminds me too much of Darla Dimples, ugh *shudder*) If it was me, I'd have done it a different way. Alright, so, Tirek gave Cozy the instructions on how to drain the magic so he could get the ones who defeated him trapped with him. The magic that has been taken was going to be lost "to the aether" but, what if the magic did get sucked into the vortex? but instead of being lost into nothing, it got channeled right into Tirek? Meaning that Tirek used Cozy, and then, SURPRISE!!! the season ends as he gets all the magic and leaves the mane 6 in Tartarus. This was the second to last season, can you imagine the fans freaking out if we got an actual cliff hanger on the end? It would have blown my mind. Sure, I guess you can argue that Cozy talking to Tirek like that was a bit of a setup for what may happen next. But the current problem is fixed.

I'm really excited for the possible villain alliance in season 9. Neighsay foreshadowed the idea that friendship could potentially be used as a weapon against Equestria. The Mean Six Twilight implied that Chrysalis needs friends if she wants to succeed. Cozy used a warped understanding of "friendship = power" for her scheme. When sent to jail alongside Tirek, she asked him if he wanted to be "friends". Doesn't this all line up perfectly? The concept of villains being able to USE the power of friendship? It would also spark interesting debate from a lore perspective when its shown that good/evil doesn't actually matter, since friendship is friendship and anyone can use it if they're capable of it, even baddies. What a difficult final battle that would be!

That idea for the cliffhanger would've been amazing! The one downside is that is, depending in what they do in season 9, ending it that way might not be able to work for what's coming in S9. For this reason, right now it's literally impossible of me to even try to say what i think would've been done better in this finale. Unless i go one step farther and also say what I'll do for the S9 premiere and finale, since whatever happens in the S8 finale would have to be able to connect and set up for what happens in S9.

@@luffyiscool Yeah, that's one thing Neighsay bought up about the power of friendship: it might not be exclusive to the "good guys" and there could very well be ways villains could use it too. For instance, let's say that Cozy, Tirek, and other villains gain a genuine bond aka friendship between them. This could theoretically makes things REALLY interesting from a philosophical standpoint, as well as it potentially allow them to unlock a power that could be a serious threat to Equestria. The closest we had to that might've been with Starlight, since she was about friendship too (just misguided) and unlike most villains, she wasn't just in it just for herself in the Season 5 premier with "equality". Hell, she even named her village "OUR Town". In fact, I even wonder if the only reason she didn't remove her own Cutie Mark was that, if she did, she'll lose the magic to take any she hasn't yet taken, so she'll have no choice but to keep it. I still want to know how she got her Cutie Mark in the first place and confirm what her special talent really is.

If the Young 6 really want to graduate, Discord might could do something about that. If it wasn't for that loveable troll, Starlight might would still be Twilight's student. Twi initially had no plans on letting Starlight go in the S7 premiere; not that Starlight herself would've minded it; by having her set up with friendship lessons for 3 years, till Discord got in her head. Though how she thought of THAT many friendship lessons is it's own mystery lol On a side note, if I was Starlight, I wouldn't had wanted Twilight to want to send me away either. Having free rent, in a CASTLE no less, being able to brag that I'm not just good friends but a roommate of a princess...yeah, that'll been too good for me to want to leave anytime soon!
