Great performance, interesting use of the pedal (sparingly) and more staccato than legato in a lot of the phrasing in the first movement. It's good to have such departures from traditional approaches to a work that has been heard so many times.

How can something so beautiful, so moving, so perfect exist in our fallen world with its bizzare obsessions? A miracle of the human imagination, beautifully played and interpreted.

I was enjoying a telephone conversation with my big sister earlier this afternoon . I reminded her of the dish she prepared for the big family Christmas Gala some years ago; a striped bass stuffed with crab meat. I told her it was a dish fit for an emperor. I hardly remember any of the other dishes, hers was so par excellence delicious. I was thinking of this concerto when I was describing this extraordinary culinary delight. Ludwig Van Beethoven was undeniably a few light years ahead of his time to conceive these truly otherworldly sonic blasts, then flesh them out, inimitable timeless. He da MAN! PWG
