Ойын-сауық

C'mon Lucky Chops! These guys killed this song. I like when brass is done well, and this was done extremely well! Great request Cody, I thank you!!! Who's up next!?
P.S. I know there's more than brass going on here, don't roast me too hard in the comments :)

    I love that you reacted to them! I'd highly suggest listening to Buyo (you will lose it), and practically any one of their live performances. Also check out 'Leo P', you won't regret it. Nowadays Lucky Chops are still good, but their original team when I saw them in NYC on a subway station in 2015 was unbeatable. Also search up 'Too many Zooz'. That's a but too much 😂 FYI yes it's the same guy in the sax. He's the most modern talented saxophonist, and his main character was on Lucky Chops where he left a few years ago, and has expanded his career massively.

    Any pop music performance that uses instruments OTHER THAN guitars interests me...but a bari-sax solo? They got me right there! You're on a roll, Jase. In the past 4 days you've brought us 2CELLOS, HEILUNG - "Krigsgaldr" (I'm still not quite sure what that was, but it wasn't guitars), Sona Jobarteh on the Kora (more, please), and now this group on horns. You rock!

    Leo P. is the one with the colorful hair. I have not heard this version before. Leo Moracchioli of Frog Leap Studios does a really good metal version if this song...if you want to put a pin in Norway you should check him out. Leo P. is also a member of Too Many Zoos, their style is best described as "brass house" They do a cover of Bad Guy and I quite like it.

    Notably, Saxes (tenor & baritone, in this case) are technically woodwinds (single-reed). The trumpet had some good chops, as well as excellent control in his softer sections. Trigger-bone & Suzaphone (thankfully not a white elephant) for deeper brass sound, had good mellow sound, T-bone had crisp, precise notes. I'm going to have to watch this again just so I can check out the drummer...

    @mordenwyldanebonbolt8729

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@masterseanwit3594 It's not highly obvious, but that trombone has a valve on the upper loop. Uses a thumb trigger (left hand), thus trigger-bone. It adds to the range of the instrument without requiring vastly more effort. I've also seen a trombone with two valves. I'm not really a brass guy, & it's been a couple of decades since my brother played one, so terminology might have evolved somewhat (& "trigger-bone" might have been just a local nickname), but I seem to recall it was an "F-valve attachment."

    @@mordenwyldanebonbolt8729 I thought it was a bass trombone but I think its actually a "tenor bass" trombone (a tenor tombone with an "f" attachment like you mentioned). not a local nickname, I just never heard of it, i have only seen tenor, bass, and bari trombones

    Didn't really care for this. I appreciate the attempt and skill these musicians have, however the innate mood their composition has lent itself to a far more happier tone than the original. Reminded me too much of a Jazz funeral. Perhaps that's why I didn't care for it.

    That's an interesting reaction. I feel the same way about Voctave, the other video Jase reviewed today. I love a cappella, they are extremely talented, and the performance was flawless...but it just doesn't excite me and I don't care to listen to it again. This is why I'm a regular here (and a Patron) and why I've abandoned a number of other reaction channels. Variety is the spice of life!
