Trombone kickin it, sousaphone crankin, bari and tenor are harmonizing, and the drummer is not overpowering everyone. THIS is art, genious choreography, and brilliant hype. I wanna visit NY just for this

+Thomas Welnick For reeds he's probably using Vandorens, as they're basically the standard for wooden reeds. However, he could be using any variation of a Traditional, JaZZ, V16, V12 or Java reed, so it's really anyone's guess. As for mouthpiece, he appears to be using a Lawton Gold Plated, with the larger butt of the mouthpiece being a key characteristic. He also appears to be using a Rovner ligature, pretty common among jazz and saxophone players. Hope this helped, if you have any more questions feel free to reply.

Chong Whang I live in ny I've never seen them though so I guess I'm not so lucky
Am I the only one who keeps listening to them daily? There's just so much energy and charisma in the music they make. Good stuff Lucky Chops. Question though, why can't they just collaborate with TMZ for a year or something. COME TO SINGAPORE PLEASE!
私は日本の中学生2年生です 部活でアルトサックスをやっています! 皆さんは楽しそうに吹いていて、やはり音楽は世界共通ですね! 私はいつか皆さんと一緒に演奏してみたいです!
Great to see a well made video of you guys in the subway instead of just vertical iPhone videos :D

I'd say learn tennor or alto first it's the same fingering and notes just harder to play
I wish y'all would bring the old band back together every once and a while to play in the subways bring back the magical music you once together played I loved watching y'all play
I love it when he pulls out the highlighter
Daro and Buyo are in a class of their own, so good
Leo is wearing a Too Many Zoos shirt while performing in Lucky Chops. 🤦🏼♂️

@Matthew Andrews you can clearly hear "too many" instead of "danza" I get the kuduro part because zooz kind of sounds like kuduro because of the o, but other than that it's clear he shouts "Too many zooz"

As an aspiring jazz trombonist this really gives me a lot to shoot for, been picking up a lot of these videos and trying to learn them myself. Also my entire jazz band has heard of this group and we even have a brass band small ensemble drawing inspiration from LC.

Really it ends up just coming down to articulation, I’m going to assume that you came from playing concert music, so basically what you need to know is not everything is written. When you swing 8ths for example your articulation should be “doo dah doo dah” and when you see an eighth note with a rest right after think of that note being short but still strong. Basically just listen to a lot of jazz and when you play do what feels right.

What makes the music so good is that they’re all so energetic and u can feel the exhilaration and fun they have while playing through the screen
Omg... There is just something so magical and overwhelming about a group of people that love what they do this much. I've been in various bands, but it still blows my mind to see the whole new level that this type of love brings.

@@combustion1041 at least it's so blunt that people couldn't even make fun of me when I was in highschool because there's just 0 room for creative insults. Every joke anyone ever made was just "haha funny word" and then nobody mentioned it again.
I love the sound brass instruments make when the played correctly, these instruments have such emotion to them and such a loud booming sound that makes them feel like they should be played crazy and loud and glorious. I play a clarinet which is also a loud lovely sounding instrument and pairs well with a flute but the way you can arrange a jazz band and have them play these amazing songs is just down right extrodinary. Good work guys keep it up
i literally watch this video at least 4 times every day and it never gets old
