So expensive new or at garden centers
The "stand" that was in the Tupperware cake carrier is actually for pies. They are stackable with the legs fitting into the one below and easily protect your pies during transportation. I used to be the pie maker for family holidays and I have about 10 of them. Just stack them up, place an empty one on top and all pies are safe and secure.

Jocelyn, Thank you! I found a glassy baby at my local Goodwill. It’s Celebration pre-Triskelion. Not vintage, but still cool. It was priced at .99 but I got it for .74 because of a senior discount. 😂

I'm from Williamsburg and seeing you find Williamsburg pottery every now and then is amusing. Years ago, a visitor to Colonial Williamsburg could watch a master potter make those pieces. Fast forward to now, and given budget cuts, changes in management, and the Master Craftsmen retiring most of the Williamsburg souvenirs are made in China. Really sad to compare merchandise and see the quality deteriorate so much.
Hi, Instead or redonating things that you choose not to list, you should have biannual parking lot sales. Let Ashton and Juliette help with it and let them keep the money in savings account for school. It will get them involved, teach them about selling and the exchange of funds and at least you can get some return on items you previously bought. You will be surprised how many items people will buy for a dollar or two for use in DIYs crafting. Just a thought.

I think it’s a great idea to pause at the end. I call it weeding 😊. I do it all of the time while thrifting. I always ask myself: “if I were forced to leave with only one item what would it be?” And then I start weeding from there. 😃

The Tupperware cake carrier has a pie carrier inside. One pie goes on the cake carrier and another pie can go on the top of the rack. The legs keep the pies from mashing each other!
I agree about the tusks. Poachers don’t even leave figurine elephants alone 😠. I always find them missing also.
Hi, your enamel bowl from this episode: I received it as a baby gift in 1999. It came with a cute hooded infant bath towel (hood had a duck beak), yellow rubber duckies, & baby bath soap products. I use the enamel dish in my garden (with stones & branches) as a finch Bird bath. Love your show! Lina in Montana

The ox blood bowl looks to be from the 1960s or 70s because buyers would put the green felt dots on the bottom to protect furniture. These days the felt dots are tan, not green. It was used as a low vase for bonsai style floral designs.

Yes and I think everyone had that picture! I have seen it at many thrift stores and yard sales over the years.
I instantly thought that the basket of bunnies was so adorable lol.
Yes, I have one exactly like that and it needs the bottom. You'd put vegetables in it and any leftover water would drain to the bottom and the cover would keep them hot.
I loved the crochet cat and bunnies in the basket! That’s called a “Amineko” cat. It’s from a Japanese crochet pattern. It was crocheted separately and attached with a few bits of yarn..you could have easily removed it without damaging it if you wanted to. I insist you run back to that very goodwill and buy that wonderful crochet delight. 😂😊 I crochet so i can really appreciate the hours that went into that Amigurumi goodness. ❤

Nothing like stopping and evaluating life’s decision in a goodwill 😂
I like the idea you have of stopping and evaluating what’s in your cart before you leave. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher
The Tupperware cake carrier is the best one ever. I purchased an older one because both my grandmothers and my mom had one. Not the prettiest color but makes carrying a cake so easy. The seal keeps the cake fresh. The secret is the carrier handle. It is sturdy and reliable.
That's a Captain America Loungefly from a couple years ago. I want to say that was the purse released around 2018. It's a retired and hard to find piece!
I’m with you on picking up stuff that excites you. Spent most of my day today listing things I DONT want to list. There is money there it’s just not “fun” more lower cost items… but I barely paid anything for them. .50 here, $1 there, some .25 cents. Mostly yard sale stuff I can make $10 to 15 on. It’s fun to list the expensive cool glassware… but I have to remind myself that the other stuff adds up and it’s good to have a variety of price points in my store:)
The longest time I spend sourcing is fun sponging my cart at the end before checkout. I'll examine and comp every little thing. I've learned to only buy what I'm excited about or it will clutter my life until I flipping hate it with a passion.
You got great stuff! I wish you’d got the outside statue of the little girl with the bunnies…for in your garden. It was so sweet.🙏🏻🥰

I've been doing the same thing lately- stopping and reevaluating what is in my cart before I go check out at Goodwill. My reason is that the prices have gone up and my final total has been a lot higher than I thought it was going to be several times. I usually find that I have 3 or 4 items in my cart, too, that I'm not really that enthusiastic about or I find damage on something that I hadn't noticed at first. And, today I found that the large owl plush that I thought was $4.99 was actually $14.99 (just crazy!!!) Glad I caught that! So, that is good advice to check your choices before you pay.
Those Tupperware cake things are so handy. We use them upside down for bringing big batches of potato salad etc to parties. Great that you scored one with all the parts.
I love the Captain America Marvel purse!
The "crackle" glasses you picked up last time were Morgantown "Driftwood" glasses. Handblown and will have a rim that is not perfectly round. I believe the ones you picked up in this video are the Libby version as they appeared to have a perfectly round rim.

Loungefly sells really well. Also since it's also Avengers. That one Tupperware cake holder is immaculate. It will also sell well. I'm excited about that waffle maker thingy. You're going to do well with that too especially since it's in its original box. Do you think that Goodwill is getting a bit too big for their britches when it comes to pricing some items? $9.99 for one cup is ridiculous! Just because it was in a box is no reason to price it that high.
@laricakrischel5629
Жыл бұрын
I keep finding at my local Goodwill that some things come in with the original tag still on it and Goodwill will price it higher than what the original tag says and it isn't an item that has increased like a vintage item would. When I talked to a manager about coming down on the price back to at least the original price, they would not do it and said that policy would not allow it. I didn't feel that was right for them to do.
At 6:11, that was Petalware, baked on Blue, Macbeth-Evans Glass Company. Depression Glass.
I still have both my cake carriers from Tupperware. I don’t use either for cakes. I use the rectangle one for tossed salad, top becomes the bottom and the bottom becomes the top. The layered cake carriers use for like pasta salad and potato salad.
LOVE THAT YOU ARE THRIFTING PURSES! I LOVE SELLING PURSES AND JEWELRY!
That Tupperware cake holder was a great find. In excellent shape, with a few extra parts! I use mine inverted to make taco salad!

I think you hit the jackpot with the Tupperware cake holder!! I don't even think they make them anymore. My mom has had hers for decades!! I got a really nice Michael Kors purse for $6.99 here in Florida. 😀 I was carefully listening to your closeout story and you're so right about pausing and think before you buy. I don't resell, but I have to tell myself the same thing!! Love watching your channel ❣️
I do the same thing at Goodwill. Inventory my cart in an out of the way spot before checkout looking for chips, cracks or damage on items. Or decide if I really want or need it. Grab it check later!!
FYI.. Coldwater Creek is a really high end catalog company that carries beautiful expensive items.. Beautiful clothes..very well made also.
I avoid the Brighton. I stick with Coach (leather only) vintage and modern, Kate Spade and Rebecca Minkoff. The Loungefly was a great find though.
I love your Goodwill videos! I learn SO much from you! I had a lady pick up a dish and say “I bet you don’t know what this is!” I promptly replied “That’s a bone dish. I learned that from the Crazy Lamp Lady on KZread!” 🤣

You missed the Mr. Christmas Magical Musical Maestro Mouse music box at about 13:10. He's a mouse that plays different songs when you put sheet music in front of him. I've sold several of the Mr. Christmas figures, for $150-$200 especially if they're new. Used, around $60-$90.

I have found the cups in the cup section and the matching saucer in the plate section! I always check those two sections out when I find something interesting in one or the other.
Everyone in the 80s either had one of those owl pictures or knew someone that had one.
Yes I absolutely revisit my cart before checkout. You do get so excited picking but it's good to rethink your ROI before leaving. I always end up putting a few things back and keep the best that make me happy!
Love that your continually learning and growing. ✌
I look forward to thrifting along with you. So much fun!
Oh My Gosh, I never find loungefly at my goodwills!!! So cool you found a Captain America crossbody out in the wild, especially with the original heart logo (from before they were bought by funko). The heart logos are usually much more valuable even if they've done a re-release!
I love that little picture at 10:51 so sweet!!
I’ve actually learned from you not to jump at all the cool vintage stuff. I do a fast grab as soon as I enter the store then look up stuff and go through the basket at the end for final decisions. It has made for smarter decision making all around! Thanks for all your tips and tricks
My mom has that owl picture in her den. It’s been there for as long as I can remember.
Another fab haul Jocelyn! 💥💥
Next to the random saucer/plate that you left because you thought it should have a teacup was a large blue mixing bowl with a white lid. It was a Tupperware bowl that if I remember correctly was a "hostess gift". The blue was almost like a foam texture and it made it nonslip and the center circle of the lid popped out to accommodate a hand mixer, leaving the out wite part of the lid as a splatter guard.
Really liked what you said about stopping to evaluate items in the cart before checking out…good reminder for me!
Loved the basket of sweetness: bunnies and a bear! Adorable!
The evaluation is even good for ordinary shopping! Good skill! Blessed and safe days!
Hey Joc!! Great to see you
I love the Owl art piece
I use Google lens all the time when thrifting. It's a quick tool to identify an item. Sometimes it hits and sometimes not, but it is a time saver. I like your idea of self reflection before you buy!!
Those blue threshold plates are what we use in my house. I was like “hey those look familiar”!
Girl you got me into this and one thing you told us was always by what exactly does it for you . Then you can't miss.
The Tupperware steamer is amazing. We love it for our vegetables.
My wife and I were in this store on 8/1, I think. We're from Chambersburg. When we pullled into our parking space, she said "It's the Crazy Lamp Lady." We weren't sure and didn't want to be creepy. Sure looked like you though...the signature sunglasses and hair lol.

Great idea to pause & reflect. I started doing that also. Agree that in the heat of the hunt one can feel compelled to grab questionable merch.
I remember both of the Tupperware pieces you picked up, in fact I had the vegetable steamer piece and my mom had the cake storer. Wish I still had them both! Who knew they would be worth money! Lol!
Great video! I like that check your cart again before you buy! I do that and grab grab grab then get it home and don’t get as excited about it!! Thanks!
I picked up that same Owl picture for about $3 at GW and sold it in my booth for $30. Nice little profit.
The tusks on those elephants are not usually glued as they get broken during shipping. The one I have from Thailand came with the tusks wrapped separately in the box.
The cat pattern, is my jam! I can see a piece like that and make my own pattern.
Great haul & video!♥️
I watch Thrift Nice and she uses Doc Martin leather balm to clean bags.
You can definitely get a leather cleaner & conditioner to help clean the purse. I just did the same on a purse I've had for years, it looks brand new! A good leather cleaner & conditioner are good investments & nice to have on hand:) Great haul! TFS! 😘
Cold water Creek is a great brand. Especially for older women.
I had one of those tupperware cake carriers in the 80's and the piece inside was for to stack two pies.
That fairy cottage is awesome!
I have the owl picture. It was one of the things I got from my great grandmother’s estate.
Thanks, lately I’ve been reevaluating my decision buying as well. Glad to know I’m in good company.
Yellow! My favorite color.
It's so funny that you discovered Tupperware. I was a dealer decades ago. Your cake/pie taker is a good deal. I generally avoid food storage containers and microwave pieces because the plastic isn't BPA free and not as safe as we once thought it was. They are VERY good for craft storage, and I still use pieces like the cake taker and the serving savers (divided servers for veggie trays, fruit trays, etc.....awesome for taking home Thanksgiving leftovers or sending a variety of Thanksgiving foods home with the adult kids). It used to be beneficial to buy thrifted Tupper ware because of their lifetime guarantee...but returning and exchanging is a hassle now because you can't just show up at a distributor, you have to jump through a lot of shipping hoops.
@nanderson8286
Жыл бұрын
I agree with the hassle part and YES THEY DO BREAK!! My cake taker lid was in 10 pieces when I took it out of the cupboard and after 1 year of back & forth with Tupperware I have received nothing. I will never again purchase an overpriced Tupperware product with a phony lifetime warranty.
I totally feel the same way about the stuff I get excited to look up and list is what I try to stick to. My death pile is enormous. Inventory is not an issue ever. It is hard to leave things that you know the value of. I definitely put half the things back before I checkout. You are blessed with good instincts.
