Quite possibly the two most powerful comedic women I have ever seen. Both geniuses.

I always knew Lucille Ball passed away on my mom's birthday. Today I found out it was Carol Burnett's too.

As maybe the only Brazilian fan of Conan O'Brien in the world, I can say without fear that I don't know who this lady is. I don't know who Lucille Ball is, but just because of this interview, I already love both of them. Carol has so much humanity in her eyes and the way she speaks; it makes me so happy

Lucille Ball was a trailblazer. She & her first husband had a studio, Desilu, which produced shows like The Untouchable about gang violence during Prohibition. She also greenlight a little show called Star Trek.

Along with most of my generation, Carol Burnett is the funny, crazy aunt who raised me through the television. Amazing and talented woman and showrunner.
National treasure. Best of humanity. Credit to the species. ❤
Thank goodness for Nick at Nite because it allowed someone like me, who was wasn’t even born when I Love Lucy aired, to enjoy her show. I was 4 when she passed. Still one of my favorite shows today.
I've loved her my entire life! I'm born in 76 and I STILL watch the Carol Burnett Show. I have 11 seasons and they're all GOLD! Especially when Tim Conway cracks everyone up. Brilliant Brilliant comedienne (comedian) whatever. She's the lady GOAT! For me. Much love and respect from Canada! 🙏🫡❤️

Right … I get so frustrated with Conan when he often talks over or drones on too long with many of his guests on Friend and on Fan. I love him, but I want him to just STFU so his guests can speak.
I've heard her tell the flower story so many times. It's always touching 😊❤
Carol Burnett is a true living legend. Came from humble beginnings and never got too big for her britches. I really enjoyed watching her in the closing episodes of BCS and the follow on interview appearances. She's an all around delight on par with the late great Betty White, R.I.P.
Carol Burnett is an absolute treasure and this episode made me so very happy. Protect her at all costs! ❤

during the early days of youtube when i was a kid, some of the first videos i used to watch on here were old clips of the carol burnett show with my grandpa. we would laugh and laugh and now that i’m an adult and he’s gone i can only imagine how fun it must have been for him to experience those sketches through my eyes for the first time. i’ll always love carol burnett for helping make those memories special.

Love Lucille ball. Desi is underrated for his acting, producing, everything because of their relationship. But my word, if you ever watch the episodes of I love lucy , his acting is top. One of My favorites is the first few minutes of Lucy cries wolf. His head shake gets me every time. Also love his reaction when lucy meets bill Holden. When he peers through in between them in that camera shot, hilarious .
Love Carol Burnett.
Carol Burnett is just the best.
Yep, 3 red heads, my fav.
This whole interview is just fantastic 🎉
Love this!! Both ladies are Icons. Amazing how Lucy helped her.
The Carol Burnett Show + The Mary Tyler Moore Show meant so much to me as a young girl. In the early late 60s, early 70s my mother was a rare young woman. She had her baby at 19 and was divorced by 21, so she was a single mother when that was highly unusual. She worked at night becuz that’s where the money was for a young woman then (she was a Playboy Bunny, back when that was a legitimate (+ hard) job - a cocktail waitress + bartender at the Club), and child support was a vague notion + dream, becuz there was so little need for it. So I spent most of my nights alone in an apt, watching TV shows and the absolute highlight of my week was MTM (who looked a lot like my mom at the time), and Carol Burnett. She made me laugh + feel happy when I was lonely, sad + sometimes (but rarely) scared. Thank you, Carol (and Mare).
Many thanks to Conan, Carol and everyone involved in the above video! 🥰
God bless Carol Burnett. An American treasure ❤
Conan, 'Like he's a cigar'. LOL

Thanks. I'm pleased to say, joking aside, I don't worry about anything, I just get done whatever it is I could be worrying over; right now I'm the best version of me I could hope to be, which is to say, right now I'm enough, I'll do; and no, I don't compare myself to others. As Jerry Seinfeld wisely put it, about himself: "I know I'm funny and I don't need your feedback."@@andreykirillov2739
Two redhead legends talking about a redhead legend.
I'm a big Lucy fan and have heard Carol tell these stories, but it is so great to hear her tell them again. They always sound fresh and fun! Carol Burnett is a class act!
Listened to this podcast maybe 5 times now. Not tired of it yet. Seeing her getting choked up even after all these years about Lucille Ball makes me choke up.
The Gone With the Wind spoof that Carol Burnett did is hilarious sooo funny
If I didn’t know Carol I would’ve thought she was in her late 70s or early 80s. Carol is remarkably bright, sharp, and has a great memory for being 91.
The actors / writers / producers / directors of today need to learn from the best - Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball and Mary Tyler Moore. All three are trailblazers. They know how to entertain.
She looks great! And so with it still.
91 years old and is sharp as a knife!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing this.

Two Queens of Comedy.
i grew up on her show and so appreciate that she is still around making people laugh
An undeniable comedic masterpiece was when Carol and Lucy become flight attendants.
Thats a wonderful story 😊 ❤️ ❤
Great story
I grew up watching "I Love Lucy" but I had no idea that she had other shows or that she made movies before television. I love her two post Lucy shows and her movies. I also LOVE that she was also in a 3 Stooges bit and a Marx Bros. film. I kind of wondered if they were friends when I was little because they were funny. I think I found out they were friends when I say Carol in one of Lucy's shows.
Very Nice 🧡
That's what you call a symbiotic relationship.
Honestly a similar thing happened when my grandmother died. A few days later, flowers arrived from her for a family anniversary that she’d paid for way before she was even ill.
Wow Team Coco 😮 this one is special. Well done. Conan is on his very best behavior and so respectful and gentle and CB is just swearing like a sailor and telling these diamond mine stories like they’re nothing special. WOW, just Wow. Thanks very much
Awe
I love I love Lucy
Glad she's sweet . I have bad memories of her because I remember an evil aunt always having that on around dinner while she made me and my sister kneel on the ventilation grates while they ate and send us to bed without dinner so I've avoided Carol Burnett and the smell of au gratin potatoes for a long time
I suspect that Carol was, perhaps, Lucy's second-favorite funny lady of all time to work with, after Vivian Vance.
Carol and I have the same birthday, April 26th.
If you squint Conan and Carol look like twins.
To be clear, Desi did NOT invent the three-camera system. He hired one of the most pioneering cinematographers in film history, Karl Freund, who refined an existing idea to perfection and then every sitcom since copied his techniques.
Is there a place where we can watch this whole video unclipped? I’d love to put it on for my dad and watch together. He’s the reason I love comedy.

When I think of comedy ...first thought ....awards
Why does Conan look like he just woke up from a three day bender 🤣
Conan went straight from this interview to do his Hot Ones interview on the same day. All he did was change his tie.
I'm straight but Miss Hannigan was my first crush.
Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett then the mold is broken! I rate Joan Rivers and Phyllis Diller the same as standups!
Good thing that there was no TikTok back when Lucy & Carol were starting out their careers. Because their legacy would've been forgotten by now. I mean who's going to remember most TikTokers that are big now in 50+ years? Their platform won't be around by then. But its almost for sure that TVs will be around in some form. So unless these TikTokers manage to make the jump to TV or movies, their legacy will be gone. A flash in the pan.
Conan has never interviewed Keanu Reeves. Does anyone know why? If it's a celeb rivalry of some sort, that would be a shame
Carol later to Vicki Lawrence under her wing just as Lucy had done for her. Moral of the story: Gingers look out for each other.
Imagine if Biden or Trump were this lucid and humble
Wow the last seconds of the story took a turn. So poignant.
