Комедия

Lucille Ball, The Undisputed Queen of TV Comedy stars in her hilarious follow-up to I Love Lucy!
LUCY AND CAROL IN PALM SPRINGS: Lucy tells Mr. Mooney she's sick so she can accompany her roommate to a golf tournament in Palm Springs. (Carol's group, "The Vagabonds" have a gig there.) Lucy weasels her way into a dinner date with distinguished actor Collin Grant. She soon discovers that Collin's golfing partner is none other than Mr. Mooney.

I absolutely adored the end number, the exciting tempo was perfect for both Lucy and Carol to showcase their abilities as skilled comic legends. @@user-kb1ur9ky8b What makes acting back then better? It wasn't that they were the absolute best, it was that they aspired to be the very best. Their work ethics were vastly superior. Classic actors were more dedicated to their craft. There were many perfectionists, and not just actors. There are few actors, or directors, of today, that can close to Buster Crabbe, Humphrey Bogart, Gene Kelly, Jack Nicholson, Steve McQueen, Stanley Kubrick, and John Ford. It's not romanticism, it's dedication. I own a vast array of television shows, and movies, some old, some new. I find myself going back to the classics, because they were examples of magnificent art. There's a reason most of the movies that are studied heavily in film school are classics....

I was 4 in 64, 5 in 65 and so on, I guess we didn't watch TV that much although I remember the I Love Lucy reruns. Every night at 6 PM on WNEW NYC channel 5. Right after the Flintstones. Anybody remember the morning kids show called The Birthday Party? Every day it was someones B-day and it would start shortly after the days TV programming went on. TV was 7 AM to 11:30 Am back then.

Wonderful fun and just totally enjoyable. Lucy looks so pretty - hard to believe she is 57! I think 1968 is also the year she starred in "Yours Mine and Ours" with Henry Fonda. Nothing like starring in The Lucy Show; Heading Desilu Studio; starring in a major movie (which was so good), also raising Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.( I think they were 17 and 15 at the time). Helpful that she had a supportive and loving husband in Gary; also had a great relationship with Desi, re the children as well as various issues with projects. They both supported each other always. Very happy that they both had loving second partners. Lucie Arnaz said she finally came to terms with her parents divorce, realizing that there were two happy marriages, as opposed to one unhappy marriage.

Lucy looked so pretty in that salmon or pink dress. Maybe it was coral or peach. I love it , and her red hair really shined here .

How come the entire golf event including dinner is held in one small room in front of the scoreboard? Also, where did the trumpet section of the band hide? They were nowhere to be seen.

According to IMBd, that's actually a young (uncredited) Joe Pesci. B'H.

Uncredited because it isn't him. Looks nothing like him, Joe would be 23 and that character is no way, no how 23, and IMBd is known to make mistakes.
