At first, years ago, my hero was Mario del Monaco. When he died there was this fabulous Pavarotti and when he died my love went to this super Dmitry . So happy that they song this fabulous duet together Once in a life time. Superior for ever. It will stay the best duett . Verdi himself would be proud of both guys. I named my new, Russian dog Dimo after Dmitry. It is all i can do. And listen again and again to this marvellous duett. Thank the one that placed it on KZread Kussen

I was sitting in the chorus Behind them. It was spectacular. The best tenor in the entire world and the best baritone. How sad that we lost them both. Bravissimo

Bach 33 Thank you for that. However you know no more about me than I did about you. I too have been studying my entire life, music (as long as it’s good), especially opera - every day. I studied piano with a concert pianist, and I attended concerts every week since I was 4 years old at the Philadelphia Orchestra, where my cousin played violin and shared his knowledge with me. I have never limited myself to mainstream, and I am quite familiar with most of the singers you list, but to say the things you do and to slam a voice as magnificent as that of Pavarotti (who you say is “just good”) is only YOUR opinion - not that of the world. By the way, I grew up listening to Mario Lanza and later to Corelli and then Alfredo Kraus, and some you didn’t mention, and love them, but that does not make you wrong or me right. Wouldn’t it be better to keep an open mind and allow for differences of opinion?

Bach 33 Afterthought! You are either not an English speaker or just not well educated. Obvious to me (“that doesn’t know nothing about singing” and who is “probably an ignorant.”) I taught English at the University of Maryland, and you would have flunked 😆 - go back to school, young “Bach”!
I saw & heard both Pavarotti & Hvorostovsky at Covent Garden & Im forever grateful for it. Marvelous would be an understatement.

Sadly, I never had the opportunity to hear Pavarotti in person, but I did hear Hvorostovsky at Carnegie Hall in 2007. How wonderful he was. Not only was his voice incredible, but in person he had amazing charisma and sheer presence.

Дмитрий рассказывал, чтопаворотти, увидев, что он выше ростом, стал на тумбу и подвинулся чуть-чуть вперед! 😂😅😊увы у звезд свои прихоти, нежели волнение, как он будет звучать произведение.но все же Дмитрий восхищался голосом Паворотти😊встреча не единственная, было еще несколько, но вот вовместныхбольше не зафиксировали. Вторую жену позже он познакомился с Паворотти

I wonder when this took place. DM looks so young but no way was he intimated by the great Pavarotti. Я достаточно мужчина, чтобы признаться, что люблю Дмитрия Хворостовского. Он является источником вдохновения для всех нас.

The start of their opera careers are both connected to singing competitions in Wales. Pavarotti was part of a choir along with his father that won first prize at the Llangollen international eisteddfod in 1955 and he said this inspired him to become a professional singer. Hvorostovsky's career in the West took off after he won BBC Cardiff singer of the world in 1989.

Какое счастье что бог послал нам их. Какое счастье что они есть на этом видео и мы можем быть с ними снова и снова , испытывая нечто невыразимое слушая это....
Обратите внимание, перед ними(и на них самих) нет микрофонов. Звук снимается напрямую из зала. Вот так звучат настоящие голоса со сцены. Никакой эстрадный певец каким бы он голосистым ни был не сможет так. Дмитрий и Лучано это настоящие титаны оперной сцены и их уход невосполнимая утрата. Таких как они на самом деле в мире довольно много, но именно так как они мало кто смог популяризировать оперную музыку.

Ну вообще специальный микрофон там все же есть, перед пьюпитоами стоит. Для зала конечно хватает голосов самих певцов и оркестра. Нг чтобы идеально записать все и можно было бы сводить для записи микрофоны нужны.

The acoustics of the hall plus the projection of their voices makes it possible for them to sing without microphones and for everyone in the audience to hear them. Being there to listen to it live is an incredible experience. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

По громкости может и достаточно голосов, но вот тембр, что у Дмитрия, что у Лучано неповторим! Я легко их узнаю на слух среди других баритонов и теноров.

En hij zingt zo bezield. Heeft ook geen tekst nodig, en dat voor een Siberiër. Ik kijk dagelijks naar hem. Hij leeft de rol en was een geweldig mens. Beroemd niet alleen om zijn prachtige stem maar om zijn hele voorkomen en eeuwige glimlach.
