Lo descubrí hace un año escuchando grandes del canto para aprender en mi modesto canto. Hoy lo veo y escucho todos los días al menos una hora a la noche gozando de todo él y llorando por su magnificencia y su partida. Dios lo tiene en su Gloria.

I have fled from a place once people called “The Pearl of the Orient”, now it has lost its lustre for some reasons I can hardly explain. A lot of people feel grim and sad when it has turned to be “The Teardrop of the orient”. There are a lot of aching hearts who urges for nothing but just freedom and peace…… Yet, I hope our griefs will be soothed by the beautiful voice of our magnificent Star - Dmitri. His smiles forever will comfort our souls and revive our drooping spirit.

What a tragic loss to all the music lovers. Dmitri has given so much pleasure to all the people in the world. I listen to his voice every day with happiness and deep sadness. The greatest Baritone ever. R.I.P. Dmitri, you are the brightest star now in the sky and you will never ever be forgotten.

Yes, a wonderful singer and also a very handsome man, a son of Siberia. I had the good fortune of seeing him a couple of times in operas livestreamed from the New York Met to the local cinema theatre, and in concerts from Russia on the tv (I'm from Scandinavia) - such a joy to listen to him! Finally got to see him and Anna (another favourite) together in Verdi's Il Trovatore, live from the Met in the autumn of 2015. A great performance of a very dramatic opera - sadly it was, I think, the last time he appeared in a full-night staged opera outside Russia: he was already ill even if that wasn't visible at the time. Two years later he had passed on, and in the summer of 2018 the local cinema reprised the performance of the Verdi opera, we went to see it again, as a kind of farewell to this amazing singer. R I P Dima. SE💗RU

Dimitri always sings wonderfully and brings joy and excitement to all in folkness perfection and vocal greatness

Hvorostovsky can never be equalled. The combination of voices of Hvborostovsky and Netrebko were the best Russia has to offer. Hvorostovsky is unfortunately not anymore under us. Netrebko is. My favorite performer!
