So respectful of Celine, she was watching everywhere that Pavarotti was going or about to go and modifying her performance to perfectly blend, another artist would just go off on their own tangent or vocal gymnastics, but she kept with him as much as possible. Impressive from both

There’s something about classical music/opera that just invokes emotions you can’t explain or understand. Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it, even if I’m completely fine before I even begin listening to it😢

Yeah, you nailed it. This is true love. That romantic love that you feel in the beginning of a relationship doesn’t last. It’s the everyday love/hate, waking up and going to bed with, joys and sorrows, for better or worse that lasts. I’ve been with my boyfriend 13 years. It’s not always easy. He’s very very sick and in a nursing home right now. If we hadn’t been through some hard times, we wouldn’t be able to survive this. But I love him more than any human being on the face of this earth. I’ll never love anyone the way I love him. He’s my everything.

For more magnificent singing, look up Marion Anderson and Leontyne Price, two African American opera greats who successfully fought racism in opera. It will take too long to go into detail but these two women deserve great honor and respect for their artistry, courage, and grace. Years ago for my birthday two friends took me to a recital by Miss Price at UCLA. What a privilege. She walked onstage like a queen, had the audience in her hand before she sang a note. Her singing took us into another realm. There are no adequate words. I didn't get to see Miss Anderson but grew up with a recording of her. Her performance at the Lincoln Memorial was historic.

You are so correct. There is a fine line between love and hate. I also think it’s GREAT that all you young people are willing to listen to classical music. No matter the personal taste in music, it’s so good to open your mind and ears to other kinds of music. There are so many genres of music that bring out different emotions in somebody. For me, I will always be a die hard Rocker, but playing an instrument growing up, we played classical by the end of highs school. I loved it then, as I love it now. Music can change your mood in a matter of 20 seconds. I listen to every genre of music depending on my mood. You seem like you’re a fine young man. I respect you so much for giving everything a try. You conveyed what classical music does for you. Music is a gift for the soul.

Pavarotti did a number of duets with a lot of different artists, even putting a concert tour together called "Pavarotti and Friends," to raise money for various charities. Some were better than others (this one with Celine is excellent)...the Maestro with James Brown was more than a little bizarre....but, then, he did a duet with Sting (Panis Angelicus...a duet I did with a young tenor when we were in college) that's quite good...I don't expect you to react to it, as it's about 15-minutes long, but, if you want to hear something to soothe your soul, look up "Miserere mei deus," preferably by a boy-choir...if you don't get chills (and, possibly, tears) when the boy-soprano's voice soars up and over everyone else, you might not be human...lol.... Love your reactions, very honest, no drama or playing a role, like too many reactors...just your honest thoughts and feelings...

Most of these Reaction channels are very meager on the reaction part, but yours are just simply wonderful! And I'll tell you why. It is not remotely instructive or interesting to say you like something or dislike something. So what? But you have a very well developed personal aesthetic and can articulate WHY you like something or not. Now THAT is what is interesting. Plus we can see how the music affects you. Most of these sights, the listeners have no idea why something appeals to them and give us, the viewers, virtually no insights whatsoever. Keep up the good work, let the music infuse your soul.

You realize this is not opera. Although, It's just as good! Romantic to the top! Again, very passionate. Also, let's not forget this magnificent orchestra! You are so sweet to share this with us. Thank you.

Celine Dion has got one of the most powerful female voices of her generation and the one before and her range is spectacular; however, even she is left standing by LP. 2 excellent singers - what a pleasure to listen to.

Check out one of Celine's earlier songs, "Misled". It's a stunning performance.
