I saw the movie on Lucia Rijker. And it was a great privilege to do so.

I am a guy , and HONESTLY , She Lucia Rijker is my idol . Learning her techniques and learning her moves , made me a better fighter. MOST IMPRESSIVE Women boxer I've EVER SEEN .

What?! Laila Ali fought at no less than 168 lbs. Lucia Rijker fought around 140 lbs. They would never have fought anyways.

Dude that chick looks way too manly! I seriously thought Lucia was fighting a man. Even up close she looks like a dude. The crew cut doesn't help either.

I like the way Rijker works the body. Little by little, body punches takes the fight out of you. I wish the world could have seen more of her in her prime. Her masterful boxing skills puts me in the mind of Barney Ross. Her name belongs with the best.

I'm disappointed that she didn't become more famous. I did know her til million dollar baby and then started to research her. She's amazing.

Laila Ali would NOT have retired undefeated if she faced Rijker. Lucia is a very, very frightening woman. She gives me the creeps.

@Ton Jones: Lucia Rijker wanted to fight Layla Ali. She travelled especially to Berlin to ask her in person, but Ali's management wouldnt let Ali fight Rijker because that would seriously jeopardize Ali's undefeated status. Like, 99.999999% Rijker would beat her ass, unless some freak accident would happen. Rijker had gotten to a point where no woman would fight her anymore, because she was that good. Kickboxing and boxing pro fights put together her stats are 54-0-0, roughly 85% won by K.O. In her career she has lost only 1 fight, which was unofficial, against a male pro (kickboxing), and she was not in her prime yet. Some years later Rijker had to actually knock out men and she did. At the beginning of her boxing career, Rijker had just moved to the States to train there. The gym where she wanted to train refused to train women though. They told her that if she wanted to train there she had to knock out some guys.(she didnt specify the number in the interview) Which she then did. Knocked them out cold, and she was accepted into the gym. (PS: as a kid she was also judo champion of the Netherlands, and she has a fencing title as well. She is a born amazon and probably could have picked any sport.)

look at the first round, so wild and unorganised, animalistic nearly, you will not see this with men at a similar level.

@eASTcOASTiVORY Nope not at all, she fights well, can throw a good number of punches. Pales in comparison to Lucia who keeps a cool head and chooses her punches well. I feel like that girl would be best suited for amateur fights where the number of hits matters more so. In the pro ring I feel like she tires herself out too quickly. The comment on her looking like a man was just my guy opinion. Not saying she needs to look good to fight, just saying she looks like a dude.

The technique in women's Boxing is simply poor, the professionals look like amateurs and every person that is both knowledgeable and honest about Boxing knows it. It's one of the reasons female Boxing is so unsuccessful. Call it sexism all you want, but even women's MMA is getting bigger than women's Boxing and it just started. The star that is now turning female MMA into a sensation ( Rousey) was 2 years old when Christy Martin started fighting. Women can grapple but they can't freaking box.
