Probable, Luca sea el mejor poligloto en Europa. El tiene el talento de absorber un idioma extranjero. El habla ingles como estadounidense. Si no hubiera sabido que nació y se crió en Italia, habría jurado que era estadounidense.

I would also like to hear about the differences in his method in comparison to the Immersion Input method here on DS . I believe they are very different ways of learning.

He estado en Catalunya desde mis 8 años hasta los 14 años, he aprendido ambas lenguas sin ningún problema ahora que tengo 24 años estoy intentado estudiar el Italiano con mucho input comprensible y también Duolingo estoy teniendo unos resultados fascinates con el Italiano cuando ya se el Catalán y el Español. Pablo te deseo mucha suerte con el Canal y te aconsejo mirar un nombre más pegable ya que Dreaming Spanish es un poco meh. Aconsejo algo como "Español para todos" También quiero agradecerte el esfuerzo por aprender tantas lenguas exóticas Pablo eres una motiviación más y me ha sido una pasada oír input en español para que mi cerebro descanse del Italiano.Alfinal te desitjo tot lo millor y molta sort una altra vegada.

¡Muy interesante la entrevista! Yo estoy interesado por aprender catalán y lo estoy haciendo con cursos libres de Instituto Ramón Llul. También ,visité Barcelona y Valencia, nunca viví allí, pero al revés me encontré más gente hablando valenciano que catalán. 🙂 Pero las dos formas son muy bonitas para escuchar y aprender.

Italian and Spanish have 80% same vocabulary, so it is easy for Italians to learn Spanish and vice versa

Of course, it's always the most common words that are the different ones. I'm always amazed how often I can find an English cognate to Spanish words - it seems like 80% of the time, you can find words that are clearly related, even if they're not super commonly used, and even if the meaning tends to drift a bit. But this only applies to advanced vocabulary. The simple words are different, and the more simple the word, the wider the differences. It seems like the words that are used most commonly change the fastest as languages evolve, and rare words change slowly. Why this should be the case is an interesting question.

@@Keldor314 take the word "philosophy", filosofía en español, both coming from the Greek word "philosophia". How many times a year does the average person say that word? Probably under a 100. So it doesn't have much opportunity to change. A virus is a perfect analogy, the more times it replicates itself, the more opportunities it has to mutate and evolve. A virus that spreads from host to host is far more likely to mutate than a virus without that opportunity.

@@Scott_Raynor On the other hand, the more rare a word is, it seems that there should be a higher chance that you will misremember it, and then teach your children this incorrect version. Yet we see the exact opposite. So what's going on here? Could language shift be, in some sense, deliberate? The amount of slangey uses of words introduced by every generation suggests that maybe it actually is. Perhaps there's a simple evolutionary reason for shifting language to be useful. Let's think for a moment about how in a lot of social animal societies, scent is used to identify who lives in a given group. They spend a lot of theis socializing time grooming and rubbing against each other, resulting in a common group scent, so that when one of them encounters some other member of the species around a corner, they can instantly identify by scent whether they're part of the group or not, without having to remember every single individual. Perhaps humanity has learned to achieve the same effect with language. You might have a village of 500 people, and it's nearly impossible to know everyone by face, but if your village has been developing its own particular slang and dialect over the generations, then you can instantly tell if someone is a stranger just by hearing them speak.

Intensive listening or reading don't seem to be good at all. They lead you to overthinking and to focusing on things that you are not ready for. They engage your conscious part of the brain, that interferes with the actual acquisition that happens in the intuitive part of the brain.

For me, spanish is very similar with portuguese, maybe identical. I'm brazilian and I understrand all of he speaks.

Luca Lampariello, en cataluña solo se estudia en catalán. Es imposible estudiar matemáticas, por ejemplo, en castellano. La políticalingüística tiene como objetivo el monolingüismo en catalán. De hecho, los tribunales han dicho que se implante un 25% de clases en castellano y las autoridades se están negando. Esto supondría pasar de 4h por semana enseñadas en castellano a 6h. Hay familias siendo señaladas por pedir ese mínimo en castellano.

hey pablo i remember paying for you videos 2 months ago and now im on my solo journey to c1 level or conversationally fluent level and im putting in 2 hours a day but before i was putting in 8-10 hours a day to get to b2. I've slowed down in the last two months becuase (now im on my 6 months of learning spanish) i wanted to throw in other hobbies and not be so stressed by putting in so many hours as life has caught up to me after the pandemic has slowly gone away in america because of vaccine. I'm just wondering if spanish is one of those easier languages that can be done in 8 months or so to reach a conversationally fluent level. I'm trying to input everyday from different Spain content whether its a movie, tv show, twitch stream, youtube videos, or a number of vlogs. Right now i sorta just do 30 minutes here 30 minutes there to get the 2 hours complete as I sorta have a scatter brain. Any advice on how I can improve to get to that level im dreaming of faster/more efficient? Hopefully you see this because i remember your video about having a schedule. Also hope you and your wife have been doing well during this pandemic and so proud to see you get the recognition you so deserve!

Good job! You can try spending most of your time on high-focus activities like doing crosstalk or watching content you're genuinely interested in. It's also useful to focus on content that contains a lot of daily conversation, since that's mostly what you'll be using when speaking yourself.

Siempre entendemos más de lo que sabemos decir. Es normal y también pasa con nuestro idioma nativo. Sólo tienes que seguir recibiendo input y tu habilidad de hablar también seguirá mejorando.

Creo que cuando los pensamientos vienen sin traducirse dentro de nuestras cabezas, el problema de hablar disminuye.

That's a silly thing to say! Catalan is spoken by 7-8 million people and that more than a lot of small countries is Europe so it's still significant.If someone wants to learn Catalan or any language, they can.

Nobody will ever talk to 400 million people in their life. One should learn the language they wish to learn. If someone lives in Catalunya, it makes sense to learn some Catalan.
