These tracks, and especially the long melodic chords with sweeping filters, bring up an image for me of driving/walking on a spring or summer evening, just before sunset. The ground and trees are dripping from rain that has just fallen, but the clouds have now passed to let the sun shine. Everything is lit up in golden light and droplets scatter the light to make the world sparkle. Much like the feeling after crying, when the world looks fresh and you can see it with hope again.

I think between 1994 and 1997 I used to record the Jungle show on Kiss 100, think it started at 9pm or 10pm, weekly on a Thursday maybe?. That was yr 9 through to yr 11 at school for me. took well over an hour to get to school, a long walk and then on the bus, so was well thankful of that weekly Jungle show, tape cassettes, my walkman with bass boost, and living just close enough to London to get Kiss.

Same mate, I'm probably a year or two older than you but I rinsed recording these Kiss sessions back in the day and had them on repeat on my way to/from school. I had to point my stereo system aerial at just the right angle / height to latch onto the Kiss single, but once I nailed it, the sounds transported me to the late night streets of London.

1996.. while the technical aspects of electronic music have evolved, these tracks demonstrate that there is no substitute for soul and authenticity. It can't be faked, bought, or replicated. I hope humanity rediscovers the ability to produce art.

Not happening, there will be no more classics, there will be no more risk taking. There will only be cooky cutter photo copies of what ever already works(paradoxical). The shareholders, pension funds, hedge funds and investment banks want their annual agreed upon 10%. Technology has improved to give these parties a taste of consistent returns and now they cant get enough. People who expect more money because they signed their money over to someone else. There will only be more Drake, ed Sheeran, Marvel universe, Fast and furious, FIFA20xx etc, rehashing until the cow bleeds.

The more I listen to LTJ Bukem the more I appreciate his awesomeness 👌 thanks for the upload mate.

What can be said that's not already been said. This sound not only this mix was just magical. I listen to all these sets/mixes everyday anything from 94-98 and think to myself sometimes how good the journey must of been back then my time of clubbing came just after 99 onwards I never could get anything to take me to the highs of the atmospheric/intelligent sound. For those lucky enough it must have been like riding a crest of wave for years.. am glad I can still listen to them nowadays as all this boil room nonsense etc just feels manufactured.

Jeez this is great and how I’ll always remember a Bukem set. Thanks a lot for uploading 👍🏻 (I’ve only got one other of his sets taken live from a nearby venue to me in ‘96 and it’s on an old tape, scared it’ll be no good and nothing to play it on now i don’t think).
