Wow that exhaust system actually makes a LS sound more like a old school V8, personally would leave the pipes as they are look similiar to the factory twin pipes.

I’m assuming this rod shop exhaust would go close to be able to hook up to any V8 with slight mods ?

Best cheap tool for cutting zip ties flush is the cheapest Garden Secateurs from Hardware store. I used flush cut jaw electronics side cutters previously but they are not easy to use on big 8mm and bigger zip ties.

Great job guys, a really nice old cruiser. Another cable tie tip. Flush cut electronics side cutters are the go for trimming cable ties as they have a flat edge on the blade side and the tail is always left flat. Failing that I normally just use my cordless soldering iron to melt the sharp edge, all it normally takes is a quick wipe across.

Great that you are showing what is achievable in the home garage. Would be nice to see you pass on the build cost so up and comers have an idea of what sort of budget you need to complete this sort of build. Then they can work out what they can & cant do themselves and what they can afford to farm out. I've built several over the years and always get shocked by how much stuff goes up between builds. This is just a suggestion that I think would improve your show. I'll keep watching

Saw a flow simulation with clear pipe and smoke pulses. That kind of X pipe has almost no cross over. An H pipe has more cross over. All that kind of X pipe does is make it raspy, by creating power robbing turbulence in the pipes.

The fuel pressure required for the LS1 V8 engine is 55-62 PSI & I have fitted an adjustable fuel pressure regulator onto the fuel tank sender unit & set it to 61 PSI & on the upper end of the fuel pressure tolerance in my VY SS Commodore. A 1/2" hose is the vent hose from the charcoal canister in my Commodore at the top of the fuel filler neck,,a smaller 5/16" quick connect nylon tube is hooked up to the 1 way check valve inside of the fuel tank sender unit & a 3/8" quick connect nylon tube connects onto the breather tube which runs up into the engine bay & another 3/8" quick connect hose connects to the purge control solenoid. The engine in your car should really be dyno tuned to take advantage of the exhaust system & headers you guys have fitted, much more power is on tap from the stock engine with the way it is at the moment
