Wow that exhaust system actually makes a LS sound more like a old school V8, personally would leave the pipes as they are look similiar to the factory twin pipes.

I’m assuming this rod shop exhaust would go close to be able to hook up to any V8 with slight mods ?
well done guys, best LS to H series journey on the tube by far 🍻

Best cheap tool for cutting zip ties flush is the cheapest Garden Secateurs from Hardware store. I used flush cut jaw electronics side cutters previously but they are not easy to use on big 8mm and bigger zip ties.
Brilliant job fellas, well done. That feeling when they fire up first go is pretty good hey, top episode.

Awesome build guys loved watching every moment of it, big well done to both of you!
Great video guys ! Can't wait to see the review.
Turned out pretty sweet. Lots of smiles per hour out of you guys too. Nice work
Dude buy a cable tie gun. Its a sparkies tool it will cut them off smooth every time, and you can even adjust how tight you want it to pull the cable tie up too!
Congratulations lads. Awesome build!
Sounds nice nice work guys
Love it fellas! Well done 🤙🤙

Great job guys, a really nice old cruiser. Another cable tie tip. Flush cut electronics side cutters are the go for trimming cable ties as they have a flat edge on the blade side and the tail is always left flat. Failing that I normally just use my cordless soldering iron to melt the sharp edge, all it normally takes is a quick wipe across.
Great job guys, turned out great !!
Love your work guys, glad you were able to get those body mounts sorted. I've been hanging to hear that exhaust, had mine hanging on the wall and it certainly looks great but now I know how nice it sounds.

Tool tip. There is a special tool designed to tighten zip ties and cut them off flush that doesn't leave sharp edges. I'd normally say Google the shit out of it but don't, use Bing.

Great that you are showing what is achievable in the home garage. Would be nice to see you pass on the build cost so up and comers have an idea of what sort of budget you need to complete this sort of build. Then they can work out what they can & cant do themselves and what they can afford to farm out. I've built several over the years and always get shocked by how much stuff goes up between builds. This is just a suggestion that I think would improve your show. I'll keep watching

Me & my young fella have done a LSA swap in a VL in the garage I wish we had a hoist would of made it so much easier. Well done boys you’ve done a fantastic job 👍
Saw a flow simulation with clear pipe and smoke pulses. That kind of X pipe has almost no cross over. An H pipe has more cross over. All that kind of X pipe does is make it raspy, by creating power robbing turbulence in the pipes.
Love the vids boys, you can get flat side cutters from the electrical wholesalers to snip cable ties without the dags 👌

Flush cut side cutters and or a quick swipe with a cigarette or bbq lighter for plastic zip ties to stop them opening a vein on your arm

Yeah because there's no HQ's in Melbourne!?!.... What an odd comment.
The fuel pressure required for the LS1 V8 engine is 55-62 PSI & I have fitted an adjustable fuel pressure regulator onto the fuel tank sender unit & set it to 61 PSI & on the upper end of the fuel pressure tolerance in my VY SS Commodore. A 1/2" hose is the vent hose from the charcoal canister in my Commodore at the top of the fuel filler neck,,a smaller 5/16" quick connect nylon tube is hooked up to the 1 way check valve inside of the fuel tank sender unit & a 3/8" quick connect nylon tube connects onto the breather tube which runs up into the engine bay & another 3/8" quick connect hose connects to the purge control solenoid. The engine in your car should really be dyno tuned to take advantage of the exhaust system & headers you guys have fitted, much more power is on tap from the stock engine with the way it is at the moment
@HackshopGarage
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it will find it’s way to a dyno in the near future for sure
Great work !!! Mario here , I was talking to you guys (Les and Nathan) at the car get together at Keilor Downs a little while back. Question: how do you find the Wilwood brake, contemplating upgrading my front and looking for some real feedback. Cheers Mario.
Can always pick an ls swap by the exhaust sound, but honestly not with this one!😍 so tough

True that - stock, LS's sound like a kitchen implement. This sounds staunch despite the x pipe and stainless, both of which tend to bland out the sound. Top job fellas!
