Lovey swap. Holleys Sniper has 1. Ford style Two Stage Accessory resolution that tracks idle, total open loop air fuel ratio control, four corner idle, and a Holley mech sec style progressive throttle. From 1969 to 1984, the stock 2bbl 253 or later 4bbl dual exhaust XT5 4.2 litres were only two corner idle. Even with the better Bosch Electronic Ignition, they never cold started well, and gad Hot Fuel handling problems. In the US 5.0 Mustang 4V, Ford for 1983 to 1985 used a Pink Wire Dwell reduction ( sometimes Two Stage Acessory Drive) often the Hot Idle Compensator Four Corner idle but Progressive Vac Sec Holley 4180C 4bbl 600 cfm with a Pull Down electric choke. The four parts fixed cold and hot starts. GM USA did conquer the cold and hot starts issue, as it used the complicated 1979-1987 Feedback QJet 4MC, which Holden couldn't use here till the last carbed SV 5000 VK Commodore. With a dual or single plane 4bbl...the Holley 4180C would always cold start well. Holley has done a Great Job.

Pretty sure its a Borg Warner 4 pinion (Commodore/Falcon) machined to suit a sailsbury crown wheel and bearings. S.T.C.benit +1 for a hoodie

Boys. I bought a radiator flushing gun. It hooks on your compressor and garden hose. You take out the thermostat and Poke the gun up the hose and pulse the trigger and it pushes out all sorts of crap from engine journals and radiator etc. About $100 and well worth it.

Much Resoect. Aussie Street Maching is always about the Right Stuff. I'll bet its now a flat high 15.5 sec Quarter Mike car. The stock wide ratio M20 was such a very badly spaced gearbox..a One Tonner Commerical 202 transmission that only worked well in Power Board Vans and Pickups. The All Aussie M21 that the Brock 5.0s used...it was so much better. But his 1985 to 1986 T5 Borg - Warner swap was what all Holden 253s and 308 or 304's should use if not an auto. The Stock VH 4.2 4bbl twin exhausted Commodes did 16.6s. The GTS or the rare SS 253 2bbl Four door had trouble breaking into the low 17s with the quirky M20 and Banjo axle ratio.

I used a TH700R tailshaft.oil seal in a T56 Tremec 6 speed manual transmission because it was cheaper,it might.fit the T5 Borg Warner 5 speed manual transmission as well if the Ford T5 transmission uses the same slip yoke as the GM automatic TH700R/4L60E & T56 Tremec transmissions !

Going EFI may not be cheap but for the better driving experience I'd say makes it worth it. If you own it long enough it will pay for itself in fuel savings. Full EFI can make an old car drive like a modern car but due to the engine design and poor flowing cylinder heads of old vehicles it won't make all that much more power. Still, that's why engine conversion exist 👍
