    Looks very good guys. Some rubber grommets for the boot where the hoses run through will help to stop any chaffing too 👌

    hey guys, enjoying the series so far, very close to my build. Did notice while you were running the fuel lines that you've got your rear body mounts for the chassis rails on the wrong way around, the bigger rubber go's on the bottom of the back mounts - it'll come into play when your trying to sort out panel gaps on the front later ;)

    To get the fuel line clip off i use a juice pop top lid of any pump water bottle type lid sliced down the middle. Works mint.

    The pump assembly is regulated as is the fuel rail, you dont need to have a return line, all you do is as soon as the return line comes out of the pump assembly you tee it back into the flow. Also if you use a VE pump assembly it is returned inside the pump assembly and it hna an installation height of 150 to 180mm. Guys, just ask, I'll save you lots of pain. Lol

    Yes Vi is right.Your guys made that fuel system way more complicated than it needed to be.Always use the factory parts if you can.

    I'm currently doing an LS conversion using a Territory tank due to space limitations. Out of that tank I will use a Bosch 044 as a lift pump to the LS rail. Was going to go via a reg before the fuel rail. Would you run a return line back from the reg or just single line from external pump to fuel rail?

  • @vicoactus9246

    @vicoactus9246

    @@FrankCaffeine in your case just use a return regulator, you'd already have the pipework to and from the engine bay.

    That sender unit has an internal reg, alls you needed to do was loop the feed to the return the tee off that up to the rail with a single line.. iv done the way you have also with an external reg but you need to remove the internal reg it’s the metal valve in the sender.. interesting vid tho

  • @HackshopGarage

    Hackshop Garage I’m pretty sure it had a wire clip holding it down think it was a bit of a mission but I got it worst case you can just disconnect the hose returning to it and just let it dangle down in the pot

    The longer float arm will vary less when fuel sloshes and moves. the short arm will just vary the gauge more IE. when going up and down hills.

  • @HackshopGarage

    @HackshopGarage

    Yeah I thought that might be the case, a sacrifice we will have to make I suppose

  • @scod3908

    @@HackshopGarage a short arm will also reduce the moment arm (lever arm) of the float on the mechanism, so if it there's much stiction to the wiper arm / potentiometer (I assume that's what yours has), then the float may be slow to respond or require a bump or two to move. I've messed with some old toyota ones where the brand new units move freely, but the old ones were gummed up and didn't respond until you hit a bump or two.

    Should have removed the fuel reg in the factory bucket and just ran the external reg in the boot so you only have the one line going up to firewall that can split into the back of each rail

  • @HackshopGarage

    Yeah it looks like we will remove the reg from the sender, but being that we already have the reg in the engine bay, we will probably leave that part as is
