LS To Manual Transmission - Can You Use A Old School Clutch And Pressure Plate On A LS

In this video I will show you that you can use a old school SBC or BBC clutch and pressure plate on a LS engine flywheel for your manual transmission, I will also show you why you should not use it on your ls swap build or with your manual transmission.

Factory LS flywheel, part number LFW387
Factory clutch kit for a Chevy 5.7 c30
Throw out bearing part number is 614018 - throw out will depend on your setup.
Not seen in video but you will need a Factory LS Pilot bearing for a LS7
You should always do your research before trying a swap like this my video is one of many online on this subject so do plenty of research before you try a swap using this, setup, I personally would not use this style setup but I wanted to show your how it could be done and why you should not do it.

Just fixin to do a swap on my 1990 K1500. It had a 4.3 with nearly 300k miles and I'm going to a 2005 6.0 LQ4. All the info I can find is helpful- Thank you!

When you run that clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing for the 4.8 did your clutch feel the same as before I'm on the line of running the 350 or the 4.8 clutch an pressure plate because some places I've read doesn't get all there clutch an has problems with it with the 4.8. Also is this set up your talking about with the older nv3500
Do you have the part numbers to the longer throw out bearing?
Im using nv3500 from 1995 silverado. Which throwout bearing should i use? How do i know if its the right size?
Can I get your advice on something I have an older model 4 speed transmission that I want to put in my 2003 Chevy Silverado 2WD club cab it has a 4.8 vortec V8 in it and I want to convert it to a manual transmission but I do not want a hydraulic clutch system setup so I was wondering if it's possible to install the transmission and still be able to have a manual clutch setup with the linkage system setup I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of changing mastercylinders and who knows what all else
Is there any way I can get ahold of you I need to ask a couple questions about putting a 92 nv3500 behind a lq4 6.0

You never listed the year, model or application you used get a performance 10 spline disc or just use an ls truck one? Is the pressure plate your using specific to a vehicle? I'd love to know. Its great seeing someone state the obvious. I'm tired of going though old threads and videos of people hodge podging old 11 or 12" disc's on that flywheel that don't fit right. And having to drill out holes on the older pressure plates to fit. Thanks!

I was able to find a performance clutch on ebay for an 01-06 Sierra/silverado 4.8 and 6.0 that still uses a 10 spline.

I used a stage 2 from ebay clutch kit, but the stock throw-out bearing for my stock 10 spline transmission wont work like everyone I heard said it would and I had get a new bearing part number #1697c which was longer
