LR3 Rear Brake Pad change | Land Rover Discovery 3 2.7TD
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Rear brake pads on my Discovery 3 are worn out so its time to replace them. I'm using Akebono EUR1099 pads - they are a ceramic pad that produces very little dust so your wheels stay relatively clean. This is a very easy job, but obviously if your not 100% confident get a professional to do the job as this is your brakes so you don't want to take second chances here.

You're welcome!
Fantastic, again! Was looking at those etorx and thought i better get some advice. Would have removed both caliper slide bolts otherwise and even that would have been wasting time.
When pushing the piston back in, I would recommend putting the old brake pad against it and use the clamp against that so you don't do any damage to the boot or seal of the piston.

Good advice, if your paying attention its rare to damage the boot (haven't damaged one yet). I do use an old brake pad on twin piston calipers however
😂 Shane's Shane, I'm glad you put that in there, had me laughing. Great video as always mate.

I could have quietly changed it and most likely no one would have been any wiser. I still can't figure out how I didn't even notice it, perhaps I shouldn't edit late at night like I always do. I've been using that particular animation since the LR3/LC80 cost comparison video!
Thanks again Shane’s Shane! I noticed you didn’t put any copper grease on the locating tabs on the pads. I get problems with mine rattling or squeaking without the grease. Have to re-grease annually. Would be interested to know if you get that problem as we drive in the same conditions. Like yours, my rears also wear much quicker than the fronts.

No I don't really have an issue with brake noise. The rears had a little sqeak at low speeds in reverse but nothing that really fazed me. These must have a decent rear brake bias
Thanks for the video, Is this the same procedure for the front?
