You should also tell everyone that for the price of the Ghost, you also get free non-existent customer service, and a warranty that is based completely on arbitration... That will never be in your favor. So basically if it breaks, and the store you bought it from won't take it back, you're F'd. Lowrance should just keep making their middle of the road fish-finders. And leave trolling motors to companies that have been making them for years, and do it well.

Justin, great video, however you should have done a test with accuracy of the anchor functions. My guess is, that's where there will be the most difference. That's THE main reason people want the ultrex. And it's what got these other companies into the tm game.

Admittedly Im a Lowrance guy...Live units all the way around and I do own a 36v 112lb Ultrex that pulls my 20' Nitro around. I definitely wont be switching any time soon as my Ultrex is only about a year old and thus far, no complaints what so ever. Plus, Im always skeptical to jump on board with a brand new product its 1st time out the gate. If I ever decide to switch up, I'll hold onto my 3 grand until ole girls has moved enough water over the next few years and all the bugs have been worked out (or at least most of them).

Love my Ultrex, the anchor and heading modes are game changers. It sticks like glue everywhere I've set it, even on the Illinois River. It holds in near flood stage current and surprisingly in between the convergence at the tail end of an island. Rapids on one side, river current on the other, the boat stayed on spot for a half hour!

My 24 year old motorguide 12v 41lb thrust with a motor guide Machete II triple blade prop trolls me around at 3-3.2mph down wind (no current) and 1.5 to 2.5mph up wind depending on wind speed. Also running on 5 year old batteries that still hold a charge like new. I get two full days usually (8 to 12 hours on the water each day) on one charge. Running off of two 125aH marine batts on an 18'3" nitro savage 884 with a 150hp OB and a couple hundred pounds of gear plus myself. Still super impressed by this new Lowrance! Might be what I put on my new Nitro Z21 or 21' Phoenix bass boat next year when I go to start that process after truck payment is over with 😂 Like the features on the pedal and the brushless motor concept a little more than the Ultrex. Brushless lower units are definitely the way to go so from that standpoint the Lowrance has a large advantage. I also like the ability to change the internal transducer if it is damaged, which is something you can't do with any of the Minn Kota trolling motors...BUT that's only an advantage if you use Lowrance graphs, which because of my past dealings with Lowrance's terrible customer service I would not own unless Lowrance came out with some revolutionary feature that Garmin or Humminbird didn't have. To be honest I am biased against anything with the Lowrance name on it because of their poor customer service. Because of my experiences with Pin Point electronic steering trolling motors I would absolutely not buy a trolling motor without cable steering because you can't "feel" which direction your lower unit is facing or how much you need to correct it. I understand the Ultrex has some flaws with their cables breaking (along with a sensor in the foot pedal that shorts out when it gets too wet) and I wouldn't buy an Ultrex until those issues are fixed. Spot lock is a very appealing feature but I would not buy either one of these units as they are now.

In my opinion all of these tests are a complete waste of time. When you are out there fishing and you just want to get from spot to spot, then any trolling motor will do as long as you have a good set of batteries. It will all come down to how much money you are willing to spend for the same "thing".

I never put much faith in product reviews when they are slanted to begin with. Of course he would choose the Lowrance. That is who sponsored this video and paid him. Im not bashing Lowrance bucause I use their depth finders I just don't like bogus reviews.

What about the underwater noise? Which is one of the biggest issues with the Lowrance! Steering it seems to be an issue too! As said beforehand Lowrance is just midrange in quality of fishfinders, which seems to be the same at trolling motor. And there is non existent customer support the advice should be: STAY AWAY FROM LOWRANCE
