For the new technology it’s worth the money. A brushless motor is by far superior to a brushed one not to mention much quieter in this application. It should last a lifetime. All around it seems like a good deal. Thanks for the video showing us the product.

Another specific test would be a drone shot from above to see how much travel is in the anchor or spot lock features among the units as well. As in set a circle on the screen and an anchor point with split screens and see how close the lock keeps it to the actual position of anchor.

Bmw already makes an all electric OUTBOARD (torquedo) so wish Lowrance the best of luck on this really, really competitive market segment at the moment. Now pardon me while I go back to watching This Old Outboard while trolling around in $180 Newport powered by a 40 year old Evinrude 25 horse mounted to a near 60 year old Boston Whaler...all of which is better than anything you not only have but ever will have. But again...wish Lowrance the best of luck!

Two years later this motor is going strong kzread.infoUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

Honestly... meh. For 3 grand I would expect a bit more at innovation for a trolling motor being released in the year 2019. That cable between the foot control is massive, should be Bluetooth/Wi-Fi wireless at this price point. It’s transducer is limited to extremely expensive fishfinders, in my opinion at this price point they should be integrated and be able to work on as a standalone unit with GPS. For a company that has exclusively manufactured fishfinderes, they missed the mark by not including some rudimentary sonar and GPS built-in. The only true upgrade is the brushless motor, it won’t take Minnkota long to release their version. And it’s kinda ugly. I hate to be that guy, but I don’t think it is a game changer.

Average fishermen can"t afford 3 grand for a trolling motor. Their priceing people out of the sport.

You may want to note that YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THIS. There are plenty of other trolling motor options at lower price points; nobody is getting priced out of anything.

Not a deal-breaker or anything, but the sharp/straight edges on the motor are ugly and makes it look like something from the 80's. Should have more curve/roundness.
