What a timely video. I've had my Ghost trolling motor for about a year now and just last week while fishing, the Ghost TM would only stow about 80%. Had to use my big motor to get around while the Ghost was partly stowed "sticking up". Somehow later it returned to normal stowing and deploying and I haven't giving it another thought. Well, I know the TM didn't just heal. So I will take your suggestions and check my TM again before the next trip out. Thx. "When you got a boat, there's always something to fix." That's what the guy who sold me my first used bass boat said. Ain't it the truth?

Hey Steve the (2) Allen heads on the head unit can also come loose which will not allow the motor to lock into the deployed position. Each time you engage the motor (if on high enough setting) it’ll blow out of the water. The (2) Allen screws have to be loosened further and there’s a little silver lever that gets behind a stop instead of in front. I to now carry Allen wrenches in the boat. I also applied loctite to these & will do the ones you mentioned here. Thank you

Sorry yer having those problems,Steve. When Lowrance and I think Garmin first came out with their own trolling motors, I told myself that I would stick with Minn Kota or motor guide just for the simple fact they both have been around forever and there are repair shops every where that work on them not to mention you can walk into just about anywhere and find props etc. Again, sorry you are going through that, sucks I'm sure.

Hi great video, My motor is new, I have problems folding it, I have to buy the cable to unlock it, because otherwise I can't fold it, if I pull hard it doesn't go up, only if I give the rope a sharp blow the motor can fold, that generated The rope lever breaks, do you know what it could be?

What was the screw size and where did you pick up replacements? I've bent mine and I am having trouble finding a replacement.

Hi Willie, If I remember the screw is a T20 I found them at Ace hardware in stockton, I have been told that other Ace stores carry them also. If you have a problem let me know and we can find a way to get you one. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing! Considering these issues, do you the think the Ghost is worth it with all the integrations you get with your graphs?

I think the newer ghost are more dependable. The key is to make sure you have a pro. do your rigging. It is super important that everything is integrated properly as far as wiring.

Hi Mike. I like both, tghey are both really good TMs. The Ghost has more power and can be used with Lithium batteries. Give me a call 209-423-4554 and I can let you know about the problems I have had with the ghost. Standard shaft will be fine for your RT I think its 42 in on the MC and 44 in on the ghost.
