How to fix your arrow on a Lowrance Ghost Trolling Motor

My Lowrance Ghost trolling motor has been pretty reliable for me. This is my second season with one and I am happy with it. My first Lowrance Ghost had zero issues but I had read on various forums that the arrow sometimes was not as smooth on some units. I was a little nervous with my second once because of what I read. So sure enough the first time I had it out I realized I was one of those statistics. I called Lowrance and they asked for a video and some more info on the trolling motor. They replied with the idea of using the DiElectric Grease. My dealer Thayers Marine also mentioned to clean the inside and make sure that no dirt or dust got into that area. I did both and am happy to report that it solved the problem for me! I hope this video helps anyone else who is struggling with this same issue!

Looks like that ghost already has the white Teflon washer. This might improve that washer.
Great vid! Thanks! Do you align your Livescope transducer perfectly with the head of the Ghost? I don’t think I have perfectly dialed mine in yet. Do you have any issues with the Ghost blocking it?

They should send you a new Teflon sticker. It's just that little white Dot. Easy fix and call and request it.
Would you by chance know how to make the direction of the Ghost Trolling Motor collaborate with the boat icon heading on the Lowrance HDS 12 Live Graph? Lowrance customer service is the worst!

I put a 42 on my Lund 1750 and wish I did the 52. But the nitro has a smaller freeboard measurement so the 42 should be fine.

Lowrance customer service is the worst. I don’t even think they know what fishing is.

I know, its actually unbelievable....if I ran that place one of the first things I would focus on is customer service and how to improve it. I had a simple question last week I called in after doing some research online first but could not find the answer. The person who answered should have known pretty quickly how to do what I was asking....they keep repeating what you have been asking and say things like sorry for the wait when they put you on hold which is my case 4-5 times over a 15 minute call than they repeat your question and on and on.....its funny actually. Anyways I found the answer just by clicking through some buttons and told her never mind. I have had a few other calls to support since getting these new Lowrances put on my boat and the results are always the same.....half the time I can't understand them and I just hang up and call again. I had to call 3 times in a row before I could understand someone. And it is obvious that they dont know anything about fishing or what these devices are used for. Probably sit through a half a day training course and have a computer system where they type in peoples questions and try to search for the answer while you are on the phone with them. When they can't find the answer after an hour thats when they send your "case" over to someone higher up in customer service. Ok enough...rant over! I guess what I was saying is I agree and Lowrance could really benefit from tearing down the current way they manage customer service and starting fresh!
