Lower control arm replacement, seized bolt, worn bushes - Super pro offset bushes - HGT

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Toyota lower control arm replacement.
After a few changes we took the fortuner in for a wheel alignment only to discover there was an issue. as it turned out the lower control arm bushes were worn out and needed replacing.
After talking to Toyota parts i worked out in the long run it would be cheaper to us an aftermarket complete arm set up. I ended up installing Super pro lower control arms with off set bushes. check out the video to see how.

    Great video, thanks. I appreciated the logic behind replacing the entire LCA as opposed to just the bushings, and the visual of worn out bushings. Glad to see your kid still has all his toes. Next time you do this, does he get to swing the sledge hammer and you hold the ball joint in place with your bare foot? 😃

    Did the seized bolts cause the arms not to flex and give a stiff ride?

    They only seaze up if you dont do wheel alignments regularly 👍. Simples.

    The OEM bushes in the LCA's on my Prado are trashed after 60K km and I'm looking at the Super Pro LCA's as a replacement option. Any idea why your OEM LCA bushes were toast ?

    My guess would be all the mud and water I drive through. They had a squeak for a long time before I replaced them

    Do you have any squeak coming from the superpros?

    I originally had squeaking. I put a reasonable amount of grease in these and then put the nolathane UCAS back in and found it had all but disappeared

    it was good if, anything it probably pushed the wheels out too far for the wheel offset i was running. the major benefit is you can lift the front higher with this combination

    So why is replacing the bushings more expensive?

  • @HappyGoTravel

    @HappyGoTravel

    They were actually more expensive than the whole aftermarket arm assembly. And that was before even considering the cost of paying someone to press them in
