Toyota Highlander Control Arm Replacement

If you've been wondering what it looks like to replace a control arm on a Toyota Highlander, this should give you an idea of what you'd be doing. This is for 2011-2013 Highlanders, but may cross through to other years, such as 2007-2010 or the newer models. I will say this, if you're doing this job and there's other parts that you might be changing out soon, just go ahead and do it all at once, because much of the front end will be accessible during the process of removing the control arm. Also, if you're going to remove your CV Axle, drain the transmission fluid first or you'll be running into the same mistake that I made. Replacing the control arm on this Toyota Highlander is quite involved and although the process is somewhat easy, it does involve removing engine mounts and jacking up the engine in order to gain access to the control arm bolts for removal. If you have any questions, please let me know and if I know the answer I'd be happy to help! I hope that this video is helpful for those of you who are taking on this project. Peace and God bless.

I've worked on these control arms on Toyota Highlanders several times and I always just mill a small 1/4 inch piece of aluminum from the driver's side where the engine mounts to the engine mount with a dremel tool/carbide burr so you can slip the top bolt out, u wont weaken the engine mount point all it's super thick aluminum, I've never had to unbolt the subframe of the car to do front ball joints that seems like alot of extra work to me good vid tho not alot of vids on this out there 👍
