    Bro. Love these straight forward videos on trt. Most videos about it feel like an advertisement. Absolutely do the sleep study! I have been lean all my life up until now, but still snored like a bulldog. Sleep study showed moderate sleep apnea. A tonsillectomy and rhinoplasty later my blood pressure went from the 170s down to the 130s. It’s crazy what sleep apnea affects. Btw I did not think I had it either.

  • @HarborEdwin
    @HarborEdwin Жыл бұрын

    Great video, very helpful. It should have more Views. As for snoring...man, I started snoring from Long Covid. That said, one side effect of TRT is it can cause Sleep Apnea, and sure enough I think I'm coming down with it. I see an Endocrinologist early next month to get my TRT on track better. Good luck!

  • @BigNord

    Good straight forward video sharing your experiences with TRT, much appreciated. Get that sleep study asap the snorting (most likely apena) has a massive negative life impact indeed. There are not a ton of cons to healthy monitored TRT, but one of them truly is that it can cause and/or exacerbate sleep apnea, so that could be a bad double whammy if you don't address it. I have been using CPAP for a couple of years now and although I'm not one of the "it changed my life immediately and forever" campers, it definitely helps me sleep better overall which certainly helps me be healthier overall. Lions not sheep indeed, brother. Stay strong and healthy. Godspeed. Edit to post PS - has anyone ever told you you look a lot like a more muscular Matt Hasselbeck?

    Cypionate is old school, newer oral treatments are available that are safe for the liver. Jatenzo is very expensive though, $3469 per refill. The half-life is 6 hours and must be dosed twice daily. Jatenzo produces more DHT conversion v.s cypionate injections. Dialing in on Jatenzo is easy, 7 days to a steady state means you could go through three dosing increases in three weeks. It can take months to dial in on injections. I have lost 3” inches off my waste in 3 months on Jatenzo.

    Thanks for sharing your personal health issues. Great job on your progress. I'm in the same boat. My testosterone is borderline low at just over 300. It's almost impossible to lose weight despite being very active and not having too terrible of a diet. Very low energy too and poor sleep. I'm trying to avoid taking testosterone right now as it's something I'll have to take forever once I start, from what I understand. But, it may be inevitable. I'm taking other natural testosterone herbal supplements right now like Tongkat Ali and Fadogia Agrestis and it is definitely helping my energy levels and the weight loss a bit. Currently waiting to get my DNA test results back from 10x Health Systems and I'll come up with a better plan. Thanks again.

    At 36 I got hit with influenza and pneumonia. A week in the ICU. I did not fully recover and was lethargic months after it passed. I had developed three problems. 1.) Almost non existent vitamin D at age 36. I work outside in Arizona. Fact is you can only get 27% of the vitamin D3 you need from the sun. I take 7500 units a day and my blood test come back solid. 5000 units is considered a high dose according to pharmacists. When they come up with "high dose" it is for anyone over 12 from a 80 girl to a 300 pound man. I have never been near toxic levels and I am 6 foot tall 200 pounds. 2.) At 40 a sleep test showed on average I had 89 apneas an hour. A VPAP machine has been amazing for me. I wake up now with more energy out the gate and never snore when I use the machine. ConstantPAP is old and garbage. VariablePAP is where it is at. This will prevent alot of illness down the road and may fix alot of your nasal issues. 3.) TRT at 42. For years my doctors told me my numbers were normal. What does that mean? I did some research including pulling all my yearly blood tests going back 6 years. I had been under 430 for 6 years and was told that garbage was normal!!! For starters normal for men in their 40s is considered anything over 300. That is BS. Most 35 year old men are over 800. Men's clinics will start you on Testosterone injections if you are under 430 without trying other treatments. Guys rocking a 300 and thinking they are normal are being screwed in my opinion. All my cars are paid off and I live in a very nice home that is almost paid off too. That is not normal these days either. Maybe it is just me but normal is weak sauce. At an 800 Testosterone level I workout the same as I did in my 20s and 30s and can maintain a fit look. At a sub 500 Testosterone level I have a belly and early onset titties even with working out more intensely than when I was younger. I take a baby aspirin a day to keep from having to donate blood all the time. My estrogen levels remain low due to blockers I take once a week with my injection. Estrogen is a natural by product of Testosterone. Keep it all in check and life is good. Getting old is natural and not everyone gets the chance like some kids with cancer and some deployed military personnel. Situational awareness coupled with some mild action can keep you in the game longer. My wife is happier with no snoring and more umm attention to her needs. If someone is 35 get your blood tested and know your numbers and do not settle for this "normal" nonsense.

    That would be great if we could clean up or food and health. Mine is most likely from having so many tbi’s. But overall it’s sad to see this be a hormone that is trending down in younger people overall.

    @@theotherphil I've heard of guys feeling as good at 500 as others do at 1000. In the same vein there are men who feel as good at a free T of 25 ng/dl as others at 50. I think that maybe the number is valuable as a marker of where you as an individual feel right. Also, maybe they're useful in calculating the optimal ratios to other hormones. I don't know, I'm a total beginner. I'm just thinking out loud.

    @@bryantcofty2709 I totally agree - I had midrange total but next to nothing free as it was all bound up in SHBG. The difference being, those with low total test (like the author of the video) is likely to also have low free - in fact they have to, so it was irrelevant to even mention it in this context.

    Ref range is about 300-1000 (I would say anyone under 400 with low T symptoms should consider going on TRT, its not a life long trip for everyone and if oyu want kids then stop it for then) but what most docs dont understand ref range doesnt mean its good. I took several years T levels measurements and then showed them to general doc and he said "many men has low T". That sounded so stupid it was hard to believe doc would say that. Its almost like hey doc I have a cancer "yea many have cancer, next patient". I was under 300 in most of my measures but I didnt want to go on TRT and doc wouldnt prescribe it to me anyway. Anyway going to general doc for testo issues is waste of time. Then I went to Thailand for a vacation and saw there are mens health/TRT clinics. I got the shot, that was it, only problem was how I get it in my country. There is no way I buy it from the streets. Luckily I found urologist who promised me you will be on TRT rest of your life, dont worry about not being prescribed again. That was a relief. I dont feel optimal and I want to add more but I wait until autumn and lets see what changes we do with the doc. Ive been lifting without TRT 20+ years, then I just didnt have energy to go to gym anymore. About 5 months on TRT and Im stronger than I ever was "naturally" and I trained very hard for decades. Until my T rock bottomed. Now I can train like I trained in my teens but I have more T in my system now and I guess thats why I lift more than ever. but yea, thats just a positive side effect for those who lift. Best thing is that my morning erections were totally gone last 15 years, Libido zero, no erection for weeks I thougt its just an age thing but it was low T thing. Losing your erection is like, why I even live anymore and when you get that back you dont want to go back where you were so TRT until I die. It also has numerous other health benefits that science is founding more and more. I try to put my dad on TRT but he isnt too interested ehich is sad since I see his muscles shrink and Im sure TRT would help. BTW. TRT may elevate your hemoglobin/hematocrit which can cause sleep apnea. Im just saying this if oyu havent found help for you snoring.
