What this makes me think about is that everyone has a different perspective of you. Even you have a different perspective of you. You see yourself as a certain way when other people see you different. Just a reminder: The way you see yourself is not the way other people see you. Those bad thoughts you have about yourself? hm I know this already but I’ve had a similar thought, more so with objects. We all see objects differently, but we’re all taught that said objects are… those respective objects. I could see, let’s say a can of soda, as red with white lettering, and metallic exteriors; -your- red with white lettering and metallic exteriors could be different. There is no safe way to know what each of us see. I suppose for better relevance with the video, I could say that this thought has been coupled with some other nihilistic things I’ve been wondering and pondering about.

3 years have passed and still, no one ever will know me like she did. Just like that mermaid in the video, she came out of no where, showed me a new side to life, a new universe, opened up my perception, showed me how to love and be loved, brought me a sense of a higher awareness. She made me feel at home, made, made me want to exist. But just as fast as she came, she left. She let me go, but as broken as I was, she helped created a better person within me. She may not be in my life anymore but just like that yellow flower in the video, she left me with memories I will forever cherish and helped me to encourage and nurture within me a true sense of self. I’ll always love her for that.

This song makes me think about my beautiful wife. I am an alcoholic (sober through the grace of God and my lovely wife support) and I was always just wandering through life aimlessly. I had given up on myself but for whatever reason my wife didn’t. I was bad for her and eventually it came to the point that I had to change or die. It hasn’t been an easy journey but I’m glad I didn’t have to do it alone. These have been the best 10 years of my life and I couldn’t ask for anything else.

I remember going over at night, watching tv with you and falling asleep on your couch. Those were some of my favorite times. I know you so much better than you know yourself and I accepted everything you came with, and still, you couldn’t stay with me. My heart hurts.
