There are two things one can always expect from a Lovebites song - excellence and the unexpected.

Miyako is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude". The piano backing track in the chorus was necessary for the completeness of this song and it was pre-recorded by Miyako. It had to be played as a backing track since our maestro can't play both the guitar and piano at the same time (she actually did in another LIVE show but that's another story). For your viewers who are unfamiliar: Chopin was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. "Etude" is French for "study". Chopin's Etudes were written as "studies", or lessons, for his students. They ended up being popular things for professional pianists to play as part of their concerts, in part to show off their skills. This is one of the more famous ones and is considered one of the most difficult ones. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as the intro, but it’s not normally included in their shows.

For “Swan Song” , Miyako used elements of two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak’s “New World Symphony” 🤘

Greatest band in the world. This song belongs in a museum. Check out Frozen Serenade (live) if you haven't. It's sits right there next to this one. I would then recommend checking out all of the "E" songs (Edge of the World, Empty Daydream (2019), Epilogue).

Some knowledge of history is required to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was known as the 'November Revolution', but failed due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented the Etude OP 10, No. 12 in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, then named it the 'Revolutionary Etude'. Miyako composed Swan Song based on this 'Revolutionary Etude' and Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake", based on the historical background of the "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.

I read at some point that when Miyako still has piano parts to come in a concert she is nervous and anxious and that's when she looks bored and ice cold. only after the last piano part has been played can she relax. Now, I saw them live in germany about a week ago and they didn't have a piano with them, they only played songs that didn't need it and for the most part I would say she seemed a bit more cheerful and engaged... though she definitely still had that far away, bored look a bunch of times^^ either way it was a great show and a lot of fun in a comparetively small club.

Haha, no one cares if you have comments during the solos. But, if you have a conversation with each other over the solos, then you can fuck right off with that because you aren't listening any longer. These women are all virtuoso level musicians and the fanbase will tell you if you disrespect them.

Just discovered your channel and really like the content you guys but out. Keep it going! If you want to continue with some more Japanease Bands I would recommend Nemophila with ama-te-ras or Unlucky Morpheus with Black Pentagram (live). I think you would really enjoy these.
