Threes company was just a knock off of the much funnier UK comedy Man about the house. All in the family was just a poor facsimile of the British show Till death do us part. There's not much that's original on US TV. Pushing daisies was good. So was The good place. Most everything else is rubbish.

This was a great show for its day before the PC brigade appeared. Brings back many great childhood memories, in the days when I had several black friends. Never any trouble at school or any racist jokes. Both races gave as good as each other. British tv now refuses to broadcast this show therefore only viewable on here or dvd. Have gone on to love US shows such as Seinfeld, Frazier, Two and a half men and Big Bang Theory as British comedy is now dire. Best wishes from England.

That was kind of the point, Eddie hated to admit it but Bill became his best friend as the series wore on and in one episode Eddie even tries to help Bill get into a bar he thinks won't serve black people, by idiotically blacking up himself ofcourse but the sentiment about racial equality was still highlighted. Quite a turn around from this story here.

I'm white, and grew up in a white village in the 70s, the programme was on when I was between 9 and 13years old. It was controversial in it's time, and I remember my parents being a bit 'hmmm' about it. A girl at school at that time told me it wasn't allowed on in her house, as her parents didn't agree with black and white people being colour prejudiced towards each other. Nina Baden Semper was utterly gorgeous, every male, young or old, black or white fancied her back in the 70s.

SM MM In the 1970's there was far less segregation between Caribbeans and people from Pakistan. For some individuals, this included going to the pub together. In respect of being over acted, so is Bill's screeching laugh and open eyed mannerism. Quite a lot of Eddie's behaviour is unusual for a white person with his views and this is what makes the show funny.
