This about 1986 I bought the album in 87. Pal, the guitarist always harmonizing in this band and so does Magne. Morten's voice is unsurpassed in any country or time.

Whatever year they show from a-ha, Morten's voice and the band is soooo good and soooo professional sounding. Just a wonderful band that never loses it's talent or soul!

Official video is also magnificent and very emotional.Morten is a storming charmer both vocalwise and also as a physical presence.This song always got me on my knees ever since i heard this on their debut album and got so much connected to these lyrics for sentimental reasons..And I remember the first time i watched them sing this live many many years back..His performance was thrilling.It was heartstoping!I was near the stage , got teary eyed,i sobbed.And this confession comes from a straight man.

What a fantastic and beautiful song. A-ha as well as Morten Harket makes beautiful songs.

It's fun to see these old shows with the band. The image quality is often good, but in those days it was usually lip sync, and not live. This is probably because the TV/record companies wanted to sell the album versions as best they could. The whole band were fooling around and we girls were lying flat. Morten looks like a young boy, but he is probably 27 here.

Beautiful song. He does have a great live voice anyway... despite this one probably not being live. Not the band's doing - in those days the TV people enforced it. Hoping to see more a-ha though!!! 🌟🌹

Hello girls, nice to see you react to a-ha (I've actually discovered you with Dimash). I've been an a-ha fan since 1985 and personally think that a-ha's best tracks are non single released ones. I would recommend in that sense East of the sun (you'll hear more of Morten's lower range) and Cold as stone, their best songs in my opinion. Also Scoundrel days, Living a boy's adventure tale, and if you want to hear more of Morten's high voice I recommend the beautiful There's never a forever thing.

Just found your channel, so forgive me if you've already reacted to it, but I would also suggest their song "The Sun Always Shines on TV". "Hunting High and Low" is from their 1985 debut album of the same name, which also featured "The Sun Always Shines on TV" and their biggest hit "Take On Me". These guys still sound great today!

The big band when I was young :-) And they are norwegians, like me. Sadly lots of playback back in the eighties on stage, but they are/were good live for real too.

It's the music video version, not the album version. The music video version has the London Philarmonic orchestra backing them up. The album version has not.

saw these live 5 years ago here in the UK - still strong and great band

Minor Eart Major Sky and This alone is love. THose are some of their best songs.

This is pretty much the album version,thats why Paul is soo dominant together with "Mags" on the keyboard. I do believe this was more acting then an actual live performance,although a-ha around this time did what we call sing back as well,it means the song track would probably be played from the actual tv show and not the actual band,but the vocals were 100% real. A-ha felt really uncomfortable lip syncing so they did this to an absolute minimum,but some tv shows simply were told to do so by the record labels back then. Today bands has alot more freedom to play live luckily. So could Morten sing just as flawless as on record? Yes he could and still can on some songs. I couldnt help but notice how you all enjoyed seeing them goof off in front of the performance. And then i have THE absolute best music video to suggest for you,where all 3 members are coming out of theyr comfort zone and has to show alot of theyr personalities: a-ha - Touchy! (Official Video) You cant stop smiling or laughing throughout the video,and it just gets funnier as the video moves forward. Also,its one of theyr uptempo dance songs so you probably will have trouble sitting still as well. I who have been with them since the early start,i can tell that Morten,Mags and Paul feels uncomfortable to some degree doing all that on camera,but as the video moves on they become more comfortable with just goofing around,and you can see that they let theyr guards down more. This is a hidden gem from them,that wins many over who watches it for the first time.

@@Cta2006 The album version is the studio version,that is on theyr album and gets played in theyr music video. And yes,the album version has the orchestra in the background. This is very common for most artists,hence why we say "its the studio version/album version". This was simply trying to argue over nothing,as its the exact same song. I got the album on cassette,vinyl and cd,it has been the same studio/album version since release. Lets not confuse the ladies

This is Mid 80s ..see he is singing Hunting High and Low...its their first album which includes Take On Me...He i s super cuteee on this performance... Maybe you should feature Take On Me...its one of the best Music video made..it has reached more than a billion views too...that's how big they were...just listen to that voice..

The song is from their debut album Hunting High and Low releasd in 1985, wich is the same title as this song. This version is the music video version wich was released in 1986. Very advanced for a music video of the time. The basic idea behind the video is that love brings a man back in various forms to be near the woman he loves. You most likely get a better understanding of the song if you watch the musicvideo. A-ha was together with Michael Jackson the kings of music videos back in the hey day of MTV.
