Even though CCR were only together for 5 years, they absolutely destroyed the top hit charts and are right there with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones as one of the faces of 60s rock and roll.

@@TheRedStateBlue I believe there are some huge musical artists who never had a No. 1 hit or maybe only one or two. One of the most shocking is Bruce Springsteen who’s never had a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that some don’t have a No. 1 hit because they didn’t release many singles. That’s true with many rock bands who mostly just released entire albums. So it’s best to judge them more so by the number of hit albums they had rather than singles. Led Zeppelin is one of the biggest, most iconic and popular bands in music history which, I believe, only officially had 1 Top 10 hit in the US because they didn’t generally release many singles. But, Led Zeppelin is one of the highest-selling music artists in the entire history of music!! In fact, Zeppelin may be the 2nd most popular band of all- time.

#4 was the highest they got on the charts, but, other songs would come and go, and a CCR song would still be in the top 10 week after week. There's a lot of songs that made it to the top of the charts, that you never hear anymore.

Great song.
Two of CCR's most criminally UNDERRATED songs (in my opinion) are "Long As I Can See The Light", and "Wrote A Song For Everyone". They don't get the airplay they deserve.

One of my favorites. I have been requesting it.
Oh yes I was one of the lucky ones front row center 1971 Seattle Center Coliseum and 15 years old, felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I was obsessed with this band, had the biggest crush on John Fogerty too. Also saw John Fogerty in 1986 when he was solo, also front row center again and got to shake his hand! Just jumped out of chair when I saw this post! Been waiting and suggesting this one for about 3 years. Check out Ramble Tamble or Pagan Baby next, my 2 all time favorites.❤
There is not one CCR song that sucks. Not one. They are all amazing.

“ It Came Out of the Sky” is another great rocker by them.

Just after 9/11, there was a very brief push by Clear Channel Radio, which owned over 1,000 stations, to not play certain songs because of a perceived connection to the tragedy. This song made that list because of the opening line: "737 comin' out of the sky..." It was a dumb reaction that thankfully didn't last long.
CCR is one of the best bands of all time in my opinion! I just heard a singer on a show called Britain’s Got Talent that you guys have to listen to. Her name is Sydnie Christmas and you really can’t go wrong with any of her three performances. She absolutely blew everyone away every time she sang and she is becoming one of my favorite singers of all time!
I'm taking my mom to see John Fogerty next tuesday in concert! Love this song!

Finally !!! Great choice on this banger!!!
CCR was an amazing group with a ton of talent when John Fogerty sang he just gave it his all. To me CCR are just iconic and a great group to listen to to grow up with. A lot of great songs in a short period of time.
The reference to rocking '50s smashes by Little Richard, Chuck Berry, etc. is spot on; they were paying homage to the early rock & roll artists they grew up listening to.
CCR was my first concert. Bo Diddly opened. It was 1970 at Hirsch Memorial Collesium in Shreveport Louisiana. I was 12. I'll never forget it. They were touring behind Cosmos Factory, my first 8-track tape, which I had played till it wouldn't.
I saw John Fogerty at the Venetian about six years ago, first row 😀 what a show he puts on!!! For his song Centerfield he played a Louisville Slugger made into a guitar.
I've loved this band from the beginning! Now you're doing my favourite by them! Digging the t shirt Jay. My favourite band. Loving your reaction to this one!❤❤👍👍🤘🤘
My first concert would make J jealous. It was The BeeGees and tickets were $5. In a packed open floor (no seats) arena. Man what a good time. 🎶 ❤😊❤🎶
I love the energy the two have. Much love
I just saw John Fogerty late Friday and it was amazing!!! He said he just get all his songs back and the vibes were just pour love!!!!❤😊
I saw them in 1969 at the First Atlanta Pop Festival. They were the closing band on the 1st night. Their starting time kept getting pushed back and they finally came on at about 3am and delivered a killer set.
In the 80´s I went to se Doug Sahm´s band in a small town in Sweden called Falkenberg. An hour into the show they paused and I went to the bar to get a beer, and there he was - Doug Clifford, once the drummer in CCR - drinking a beer. I was completely starstruck but he was very friendly and we had a nice conversation. An unforgettable moment for me.
Saturday afternoon just parked my semi, driving my car home and this is rocking me out. God bless you 2.
I love Amber's intro to classic rock. Also,Jay don't let the trolls stop you from enjoying yourself. P.S. I love your air guitar!
I saw John Fogerty at Jones Beach in NY 10+ years ago, what a show! Truly amazing
Love your faces when he started singing. That's rock n roll! Woo! Fantastic reaction to a fantastic song! Best quote, "Why are we just now finding out about this one" Yes Jay! Next CCR try Who Will Stop the Rain
My best friend and I just saw Fogerty in SC last Sun. He's still amazing! So many dang hits! It was the 1st gig of the tour, the 1st tour his sons are backing him in the band, and 1st tour he owns his whole catalog of music. So great.
Amber, as you spoke about going out and spreading a little love I could hear Lennon's "Imagine" in my head. Thank you for the wonderful person you are. Your biggest Oregon Fan, PJ ✌💛☺
CCR was a pretty short lived band, and were done by 1972. They have been at each other's throats ever since. I met Stu Cook at a Woodstock 40th anniversary press event in 2009.
One of my favorite CCR songs, wish you would have played a live version video, but great reaction pick.
Great band, no matter which song it is. Unfortunately I never saw them perform. For a young person (too me,) Amber you have a great outlook on life. Keep spreading your cheer, and that great smile!
That was him playing sax also. What a talent!
This album (Cosmo's Factory) alone could be a Greatest Hits collection, but then there's all the excellent work on their other six studio albums. A whole lotta greatness in a handful of years. Really incredible.
"Keep on chooglin" one big jam of a song, somebody commented down below this is a great banger by them!!!!!!
The entire Cosmo’s Factory album is terrific.
Yessssssss, thank you! Great song! I've been begging for this one. Well done!
Saw them at the Auditorium Theatre, Chicago, in '69 or '70. Can't quite remember. Along with 3 Dog Night, CCR was a hit making machine in the late 60s, early 70s. Glad you guys are enjoying all the music that I partied to back in the day. Cheers....
"Up Around The Bend" should be your next CCR song. It's a fire road trip song.
I think I was 7 or 8 when this song came out. It absolutely defined Rock to me at the time. I was crazy about it!
Today if someone yells "737 coming out of the sky" we run like Hell!!!!!!! 😱 I only got to see them live once in 1969, but the memories are forever.
Santana and CCR were the two bands that got people up off the floor at the Filmore West and dancing more than any others.
Saw John Fogerty in the 90’s after his long hiatus from CCR music and he blew us away with his awesome vocals and iconic guitar 🎸 riffs.
Saw John Fogerty last year doing his CCR Revival Tour. He still sounded awesome at 78. Tyler and Shane Fogerty's band Hearty Har opened for him and then they played with him. One of the best concerts I have seen in recent years.
You are right , this sounds a lot like Little Richard . My best friend , Tom , was tour manager for a bunch of big rock and roll groups back in the late 60's through the 70's like Kiss , Pat Benatar, Peter Frampton , Joe Cocker and many others . The stories he would tell about those days !!!!! . He quit after about 20 years because he said he wanted to live past 50 . He did make that , but died before he was 65
Now everyone go watch the live performance of this, it’s insane
When I was a kid I thought he said "called the state Melissa, " because I didn't know what "militia" meant.
John Fogerty is touring now, he just turned 79 last month, check his tour dates out & if he'll be playing in a town near you, go see him, youll never forget it, awesome show👍✌️
A recent John Fogerty song that you guys would most likely enjoy is " dont you wish it were true". A good live version of this song is done with his kids!!
Jay hit the nail on the head right off, "Little Richard vibe".
I would have loved to have seen them play this song live! I saw them in concert in 1969 in St Louis, MO. I was a precocious 11-year-old visiting an older cousin on vacation. I was the tag-a-long to the show with the big kids. I had a BLAST!
And if you want the same cadence from the next generation, follow this up with I Want To Be Sedated by The Ramones.
Rory Gallerger Bullfrog Blues is a must see . Absolutely beyond anything I've seen especially with his guitar playing but when the keyboard player goes all in it will blow your mind but then the Bass player does a solo and I've never seen a Bass played like that and then the drummer goes all in and he murders that set of drums. As much as you guys love solos im telling you when you watch this video you'll say I wished I'd watched this already. And his vocals in this song is just on a different level.
I was born in 1972 and RAISED on CCR in South Texas by my dad! I knew every song by the time I was 10 years old!
Next CCR? "Long As I Can See The Light",... letting his lady know that's all he needs. Vocals are premier, quintessential "Fogerty".
Little Richard was one of the greatest rock and roll singers. Fogerty's right up there too, good connection.
Love a traveling band.😊
If that dosen't wake you up, Then your not human
For sure thought Amber was going to jump out of her chair! Always like both of your faces!
When they would play this song at our local skating rink, 85 kids would rush to the rink to speed skate to it. Those guitars are epic! What a memory!
Fortunate Son deserves a listen, Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising ,Have you ever seen the rain?, Run through the jungle is used in so many films when they are showing the Vietnam war.
When I was 17 (1978) disco had taken over radio and none of my friends in high school loved CCR the way I did - CCR had broken up about 6 years before and was an ancient sound to them (since most high schoolers then as now have the attention span of a gnat). It was a lonely business loving CCR back then, so watching you guys discover how wonderful CCR's music is all these years later is pure pleasure for me. Where were you guys when I was a teenager? Oh, yeah, not born yet:)
Give the people what they want! Ramble Tamble, Ramble Tamble, Ramble Tamble!
CCR holds the record for having the most singles peak at #2 (five) on the US Billboard Hot 100 without ever hitting #1. Travelin' Band is one of them. The others? Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Green River and Looking Out My Back Door.
4:14 That's right Amber. I went to a John Fogerty concert in 2009 and it was fantastic! Of course John's familiar voice, dozens of great songs with his tight band, nice atmosphere,.. For the majority of the show the songs were played with a small break between them. But the last seven or so songs were played right after each other, not a even second in between. This was fire! I grew up with CCR's music because my father always played their albums, so being able to go to a JF concert with my dad made it even more special. Although he didn't have any money with him so I had to pay for his food and drinks!
Don’t know if you’ve done this one yet, but “Up Around The Bend” is a really cool CCR tune!😁😉
My top five RSR videos. 1. Hocus Pocus by Focus. 2. Groove Is In the Heart by Dee-Lite 3. Word Up by Cameo 4. Cry Baby by Janis Jopling 5. Rock Me Amadeus by Falco. 6. Double Dutch Bus by Frankie Smith. tied with Make Me Smile by Chicago. Ok. that's more them 5. I never was good at math.

Was lucky enough to see them live the last year they were together. They were my hero band in Jr high - i had every album right up to Cosmos factory,,They were EPIC!
Guys! You have got to give, Keep on Chooglin’ a listen, by CCR! Harmonica and guitar out the rear!!!
My Dad's Favorite Band, my Parents saw them a lot in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento, beginning in the late 60s.
As a Generation X'er, this was slightly before I was born. It's always been good stuff. Cheers from northeast Ohio.
Bad Company with their second singer, Brian Howe. Had to follow a legend, but was incredible as well. "Holy Water " would be a great place to start. "How About That", "If You Needed Somebody" are excellent as well. This is a guaranteed like.
you do realize that John Fogerty wrote all the songs and sang lead...arranged the music too. He WAS Creedence.
Haven't got a bad song. Love, love listening to them. If you want a slower one, Long as I can see the Light. AS long as you haven't already done it.
Ccr is the reason i fell in love with rock❤❤
This is one of those songs that appeared in several Vietnam movies. But then again, you couldn't make a Vietnam movie without having at least one of CCRs songs in it.
