It's kinda fucked up when I finally put the pieces together. Paz's tape 5 stop me from playing for a while. Because I couldn't understand what was really happening. Turns out, she was never there. The room was a lie, Venom Snake been hallucinating. It truly put me in the mood to say a bad word.

Just imagining Kaz before ground zero's as the guy he was and playing his guitar with a smile on his face while Paz sings this literally kills me

It just goes to show that the 1970's Outer Heaven wasn't just an army without a nation. They were one big happy family brought together by "Vic Boss," who could win over the hearts of almost anyone and everyone. Heck, they were even going to let Zadornov out so that he could play in the band for Peace Day. Not even Cipher Agents like Pacifica Ocean could resist the feels generated by Big Boss. She herself observed the peace they had, and wanted to actually be part of it more than anything. I don't think we were taking Paz prisoner from Camp Omega in Ground Zeroes. We were taking her home. She was going to come home to Gallo Pinto, Fishing, Soccer, Sunbathing, Nuke, Birthday Parties, and Peace Day. She was supposed to come home... but she never did.

Don't get me wrong, I thought they'd be cute together too, but then the truth reared its ugly head in... Yeah. But that doesn't mean Paz didn't have feelings she was keeping from the rest of Mother Base. She came around and decided she liked living in Mother Base, but she was too scared of Cipher to defy her orders... Until it was too late anyways. Happy International Peace Day!

The Wandering Soldiers were Hallucinations. Hence why they can run insanely fast, knock you out in 1 hit, and seem to emerge right when "Paz" shows up.

The reason they can do those things is because they were trained by Big Boss. They're not scrubs. Also, they're not hallucinations because of the condition they were in. (They were still wearing the MSF uniforms which stank, and they were completely loopy when they were found.) If they were hallucinations, they would've appeared to be in perfectly fine condition because that's how Snake's brain would've encoded their information as memory, just like how Paz appeared to be perfectly fine despite her violent death, only Snake rationalized a reason why she was fine. I will however concede that their appearance and Paz's appearance are linked. I think that finding these soldiers and collecting their photos is what triggers Snake's hallucination of Paz. Hence the reason why she only appears after collecting the first photo from the first wandering soldier.

As sweet as that sounds, there is no escaping that Big Boss knew nothing but war and couldn't let himself into a life without it. Too soon, it was too late to go back, and in the end, he strived for war with the misguided idea of his mentors last will as his reason. Too late he understood how wrong he had been. It's a shame, really. A great mind wasted on a crusade that ultimately did nothing for the world except causing more conflict. By the end of Peace Walker, they're nothing more but an army without a moral compass, stuck in a situation that they got themselves into. You can "happy family" it all you want. Big Boss was not a hero and the MSF were no good guys.

He walks a doomed path and we all know he dies to Solid Snake along with the new family he grew, I think Venom is the most tragic character in the MGS series

Venom's pretty tragic, but he sealed his fate in accepting it. To me the biggest tragedies are the ones that befall Snake, Otacon and Meryl, since these three refused to capitulate to fate like others did (Raiden being a good example, accepting his Jack the Ripper persona and dooming himself to a life of combat), and were simply born into their poor luck rather than reaching it through any choices of their own - yet still had to endure unfathomable pain and hardship all the same.

The wandering Mother Base staff members will run up to you and salute you if you play this lovely song. ✌🏻

I always think of the moments after she takes Zeke when I think of this. Since it was Miller whom wanted her to sing with him in the band. So I always think of Miller after, doing it alone. A weird situation of how love can betray you too, and thus this song in its own way is a deterrence to showing such feelings to anyone else.

I've only ever played Phantom Pain, so I didn't know who Paz was at all. Which kinda helped me relate to Venom more somewhat. I found out about her through the photos, her tapes, and her dialogue. After giving her the final photo and listening to this, I felt an emotion I never knew a game could ever give me. It's an emotion I couldn't even find a word for. The feeling I had was akin to losing a childhood sweetheart, with the song sounding like a bittersweet "what could have been". I have no idea who Paz was to Snake, nor did I know who she was when she was alive. All I know is she was an angel of peace, she was a student, and she was turned into a weapon of war.

i'd say, peace walker, where she was introduced and also the first mgs i was also introduced to the series, it's rather heartbroken to know Paz's fate was sealed from the start and yet pushes on to her last legs. Relistening to the tapes, ground zeroes and phantom pain, have never felt more haunting. I felt like the soldiers, who had been dedicating their lives to serve MSF, being robbed, lied to, cheated of our naivety. And yet the truth has been under our noses the entire time, and yet i chose to believe in her facade 'cus maybe i wasn't ready to accept the truth. Or maybe it was just a burning memory of my nostalgia for peace walker.

I like to think Kaz is playing this for Paz at night as sympathy for not being able to sing love deterrence on peace day that was only 3 days away. Staring deep at the ocean and its waves upon remembering the lyrics of the song and at the final verse, left smiling to the last note.

There are games such as this serie, that we cannot do anything, just admire it and cry in agony.

I remember being a lonely 19 year-old, playing this game on their birthday, 7 years ago, with nothing better to do and nearing its climax. I woke up that Saturday morning to a lovely, albeit scripted jingle on Mother-Base. It was a nice, hidden little tid-bit of added detail that none of the devs had to put the effort in. Yet they did. All of my S soldiers were there. Kaz was there. Ocelot was there. And I was there. In a world of my own making, it made me feel like I was accomplishing some minute amount of progress, even for a second, regardless of reality. And so, I was compelled to progress. The game explicitly told you which would be the final mission, so I strived to complete every other side-objective or achievement before ending the game. And there I was. After chasing down soldiers of a broken past, I stood, in a cold infirmary, before a familiar face I had seen 7 years prior, on a 480 × 272 pixel resolution screen, in a dark-brown classroom over the course of a year. A faire-headed lady whose fate has been left up to imagination no longer. She spoke to me. She talked with me. She told me what, how and where. And when... and why... and I was grateful for such a wonderful reminiscence of the past. I thanked Godjima for what he had given me on that fateful 19th of April. He allowed me to spend just a little bit more stuck in time immemorial when life was simpler, kinder, maybe, foolishly, gentler, as I collected flowers in hopes for a hasty recovery. To recover what was lost. An emotion, gone to the ether, a phantom lost to time. And so the time came, for the abyss to claim what is rightfully hers. The hope, the trust, the brightness of tomorrow, all gone in a flash of brilliant light, diffracted through streams on my cheeks, as I hold her through my phantom limbs one last time. I remember that day fondly, for nothing else has ever managed to extract such essence of grief from the very crevices of my soul. And so, I thank Kojima for what he had given me that day. And curse his essence, because Kojima giveth, and Kojima taketh away. Thank you...

One time i walked into quiet's room and the song was playing in the background, she stood up and stared at me through the bars the moment i came in.

They are all together again now, no hatred, no war. I like to believe they all reconciled and got their true peace in some form of afterlife, or maybe there isnt one, and the fact that they are all at rest was the peace they finally needed in life. Sad fun fact: Chico was originally planned to have survived the helicopter crash and become some sort of killing monster. Concept art of TPP Chico is still available somewhere where Null’s design is also present on it and Kojima stating that he was cut because it would deviate TPP from the timeline to MG1

Ive only been able to play mgs5 both versions and it was one of my first m rated titles and playing during all this has kept me a reason to keep going and i plan on getting the rest of them since i got my first ps3 recently, ive played so much sometimes, that i end up hearing sound effects after im done playing and end up not being able to sleep, shits been rough then hearing this made me cry for the first time listening to a song that originated from a game(i made a promise to my papa to come to his grave and play after i learn this song one day when i get a guitar, man it was a very long game (and sometimes relaxing too) at this time being im 16, and now making plans to immigrate out of this hell hole called america Metal gear changed my life man...

I had this song on repeat after when we had to put down our dog, for almost a year this music reverberated in the depths of my mind, and still is. I loved you so much my dear Chocolate, it's painful that i still dream about you, and my Peace Day is yet for me to come... i haven't reached to where you are yet but i hope you're the first one that i see, i miss you so much, mi ángel guardian.

Paz diary 5 is a beautiful piece of work. Hits me hard in the feels.

what i imagine when i hear this - Paz's dead body lying at the bottom of the ocean... her eyes closed... finally at peace after all the suffering she endured in life...

i found this in metal gear survive and let me say that it was the most beautiful tune i've ever heard

I always have this on repeat on speaker mode when playing mgs5 cause 1.it's really good and 2.you can use it on the wandering mother base soldiers and it's the best feeling seeing them straighten up their backs and ask "boss is that really you I've been waiting for 9 years,I never gave up hope that you were alive"while giving a salute (they all have old photos that all include paz that they used as memento and you can give them to her when you visit her)

Peace a man's dream....war fuels us to keep going, or at least thats what we see now....when we won against animals , man realized there was still one animal he had to win over...other men.....and so here we are...fighting for what ? fuel ? money ? respect !?....so many years of evolution and we still bicker and grovel for material things...better stuff...tastier food...can't even sleep...so many things wrong with the world, and yet who do i smile ?...simple...i'm young, i still want to see the world bloom into something...and when it does i'm going to ear this song...and smile even harder, life.....be as it may...a bumpy road...filled with sadness and hapiness alike...Between the grace of hell and the violence of heaven...light and dark....grey forms....

It's crazy seeing that this was uploaded in 2012. I still remember downloading the Peace Walker demo as soon as it was available back in middle school. I couldn't wait to play the game. And me and my brother helped each other beat the final boss together on co-op mode on our PSPs. Those were great times.

Yeah, GZ one is different. They're both awesome though.

i tried finding this song in every corner of the game until i checked that it's actually part of a dlc that psn had until the server was shut down long ago. by a sheer miracle i found the dlc content on a website and i had to buy extra stuff to make the psp memory card compatible to transfer from my laptop. the amount of effort just for this song and the extra goodies included was worth it.

Even though this is from peace walker, I still consider this venom snakes theme, really depressing and yet reminds you of peace walker, which is great because venom was a soldier from peace walker when things were great, same with us as the player as we are venom, it reminds us of that time when we played that game, and what was.

When I listen to it I can’t stop thinking about my disappointment from the idea of peace… These days most of us really didn’t get to experience a war within our borders. And let me tell you, while I didn’t lose anyone close to me, the national pain is huge. Nowadays with the recent rise in wars it seems like peace day never came and will never come and that it really might be just a temporary situation. We have been chasing phantoms. Peace day never came, and it might never come, but we can’t say we didn’t try.

Dios recuerdo que en 2018 (tenia 11 años) jugue por primera ves mgsv:tpp y como disfrute ese juego Los detalles que tenia, gráficos, armas, ropas, etc. Pero...algo que nunca logré comprender fue su historia hasta que me adentre mas en la saga MG (La peor y mejor decisión) Antes de eso mg era solo un juego de sigilo con malos y buenos, nada mas. Pero cuando jugue mgs 3 en la ps2 de mi primo, supe que era diferente a todo, después pase a PW y vaya que me llegó al alma, mas que nada el crear todo eso y después tengas que tomar el camino de la infelicidad y muerte. MG es bastante triste una ves te adentras en su historia
