You invest your time, energy in a relationship, you might fall in love and if it doesn't work out you get your heart broken and trust me it hurts so much! After that you start dating again and the process starts again, it is horrible! It is like stuck in this loop where you go from one partner to another, it becomes meaningless! May Allah protect all of us and bless us with goodness in both worlds.

Ameen! I have a few girlfriends who are non-muslims and they are so unhappy on the relationships front! They go on dates, sometimes horrible things happen and sometimes they r happy with their new boyfriend but he cheats, ghosts them or worse just never wants to commit and when I hear them I thank Allah for my husband N how we can work things out as we are bound by the sacred convent of marriage. This is an unbelievable conversation and a terrific explanation. I hail from what Americans consider an incredibly restrictive conservative faith background as a Latter-day Saint. But I’m terms of dating, we are traditionally encouraging to the point of pushing our young folks to date frequently. I’ve experienced it as well myself and married within that faith … and it’s not been great. This way is a better way, for sure. I wish I had done things like this back in the day.

The "old" me would 100% agree that guys and girls cannot "just be friends". That was before I accepted Islam completely into my heart. Nowadays...I have no problem with it at all. My devotion to Allah overrides things like envy, cupidity, and lust. I know in my heart Allah would not want me to engage in any kind of physical relationship outside of marriage. And so for me it is that simple. I wish to remain chaste and pure so there can be no doorway for evil. What makes Allah happy is my first priority in my life. Should Allah one day guide me toward a woman to marry, I will most assuredly set the passion my heart ablaze for her. But this is not something I am actively looking for...and I remain firm in my commitment to our Lord. Embrace humility my brothers and sisters.

Or did anyone think of this? If it's too much of a burden, just don't get married...spend your life establishing and growing a love for Allah. Allah is the only one who loves you no matter what you do and Allah will never leave or break your heart. When you reach jannah, you can get married to someone far superior and wondered why you wasted your energy in this dunya. InshaAllah.

That's a completely dumb stance because first of all you're not following the sunnah of Prophet S.A.W and second of all ALLAH never ordered such an act to be done. What made you think you could develop a better connection with ALLAH by lessening your burdens? One time three sahaba came to the Prophet S.A.W's wife and asked her what was the Propet S.A.W's routine. She told them the Prophet's routine and they came to the conclusion that marraige was just a burden along with eating and sleeping so they would fast all day and spend their entire nights worshiping all the while being single. When the prophet S.A.W heard all this from his wife he got furious like never before and asked why they came to such a conclusion. Marrying and having kids is jihad. Providing through halal means while raising your kids to be good muslims will get you far more reward than whatever you think you'll get by being alone.

@@justarandomguy6794I respect your opinion but do not think this is a dumb stance. Many people are not meant to marry nor want to and it should not be forced upon them. @@papayaman123 This isn't an extremist stance. You are saying that the responsibility that comes with marriage is a burden and is a hinderence inbetween you and ALLAH. If that were the case then why did the Prophet S.A.W marry? You think you can develop a better relation than him with ALLAH by not marrying? And who are these people you are talking about who can't get married or don't want to? ALLAH made the desire for the opposite gender in male and female for a reason.

I think you can only be friends if it's just professional but if you spend your leisure time with them individually then no you can't either one of you is expecting or want more. So keep it professional, don't discuss much of your personal life more than you need to. You don't have to be rude, be nice and don't give yourself or other a chance to do something that you dont want. There is a reason friendzone is a huge thing. That's my opnion. Lastly, my question would how would you like a person other than attractiveness because you ain't going to date them or be friends to figure a person, at that point what I have seen parents are also just betting on what they think often it doesn't workout. Atleast with attractiveness you can trust your biological programming to know bilogical or evolutionary hierarchy most of the times lol but if there was a way to know their personality or deen then that would be better pick for sure but how can we know about that.

As a non-muslim, I used to think men and women can be friends. Now I don't. My ex got involved with his co-worker, a friend of many years, and things ended badly for two families. People around me think I'm short minded, but I've seen too many situations like this, where they kept each other around for years, and one day they got involved sexually. I guess I'm more muslim than I want to admit.

I still don't agree man. Cause I'm a girl and my best friend for over 20 years has been a guy. He's a very nice pious guy. After he got married, his wife who is also very religious, she then became my best friend too. Actually, maybe what I'm talking about is the exception, not the rule. But I truly felt what respect and honour can do to a friendship between a boy and girl. My best friend is actually like my brother.

That’s not the point he’s making. The greater truth he stated “in the end of the day we are men” implying that whether you have been friends for 20 years and never hooked up or even if he is married, as a man he at one point may have looked at you in a way that isn’t halal. In Islam men and women are to lower their gaze… to not look at each other sexually unless married to that person. Also to make it very clear that temptation exist. And the greatest way to not have temptations is to take away the possibilities of it ever existed aka girls and guys being friends.

I was enjoying this video until the 12:00 minute mark. Marriage was not frowned upon in early Christianity. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a holy matrimony that is divinely blessed. Christians would have been pretty stupid to follow this concept because if we were practicing celibacy, how else would our numbers grow? I think what he is getting mixed up is, in Christian teachings sexual intercourse purely for one’s pleasure was indeed frowned upon and discouraged. Sex was taught and encouraged as only for procreation. You know... so we don’t go extinct 🙄

What percentage of the Christian population is comprised of monks, priests or nuns? If early Christians were all encouraged to abstain from marriage, and therefore sexual inteercourse (for procreation), then I think the religion would have died out within the first two generations. Does it really make sense?

@@shariquemohammad1215 Exactly! He would have been correct in saying celibacy was considered better than marriage, because a Christian life is meant to be focused on God alone and to detach yourself from all worldly pleasures (and this could include marriage to an extent). However, to say Christianity looked upon marriage as detestable and disgusting wouldn’t make much sense because after all, the sacred covenant of Holy Matrimony before God is performed in a church no less! P.S. might also point out that not all denominations require their clergy to never marry.

Even when they were trying to find spouses, they were not like "let me poke at this possibility. Let me try here... cause she knows me for long..." There are friendships between men and women but I think that only works if both sides know their limits.

Think about what the term friends actually means, it creating a bond with another individual respectfully without developing feelings or making it more intimate, this intimacy will automatically turn the term "friends" to the term "dating" or a "romantic partnership". Men and women cant be "friends" only because this might be considered a "friendship" in the eyes of the woman but a more sexual relationship in the eyes of the man or the other way around. Unfortunately we cant keep it in our pants, one might develop feelings which will turn into smth more, then eventually heartbreak and the loss of this "friendship". Think about it, ofc you can be friends by saying it, but deep down are you friends because of the meaning of "friends" or just to develop are more intimate relationship with that other individual. You can be friends with your female or male family members 100% beacuse it wont turn into smth sexual or more intimate. At the end of the day it's your choice to agree or disagree but keep an open mind to other people choices, and Islam definitely doesnt have alot "growing up" to do.
