Louis van Gaal 's army

For what van Gaal did with the Dutch national team in 2014 alone he's a legend. We were terrible at the time for our standards, always playing 4-3-3 because it's holy in Dutch football even though we didn't have the players to make it work. He switched to 3-5-2 for the first match against Spain, and we obliterated them 5-1. Then of course against Costa Rica in the quarter-final substituting goalkeepers just for the penalty shootout. That was the most incredible shit I'd ever seen, and it actually paid off. It's a shame we lost to Argentina on penalties in the semi-final, even though I'm convinced we would have probably lost against Germany as well. Probably for the better actually, it would have been too traumatic losing another world cup final to our archenemies.

@@diggernick6515 De wedstrijd tegen Argentinië stond vast en is het bewijs van de belachelijk corruptie van FIFA. 1.- De penalty van Messi was duidelijk geen penalty. 2.-Messi's handbal was een rode kaart waard die niet werd gegeven. 3.-Onsportief gedrag voor de straffen beginnend met alle beledigingen en provocaties van de Argentijnen. Zoals de bal naar de wisselspelers trappen. Conclusie: de FIFA zorgde ervoor dat Messi in de finale stond vanwege de hoeveelheid inkomsten die hij als speler genereert, niet omdat zijn team beter speelde, dat maakten de Saoedi's duidelijk in de eerste wedstrijd.

Still one of my favourite managers. He was the most entertaining to watch of all.

The Dutch people have a great man in Louis Van Gaal. He is intelligent, funny and charismatic. He deserves a statue and great respect like naming roads after him and all. Big up.

Would be nice to have heard him say ''we are the best of the world'' in 2014. But I ges we are now further than ever to reach that goal. It's sad. All those great players in the past and we have only one european cup. Is it mentality and determination we do not have on the moments it counts the most or are we just not good enough.

You can say whatever the fuck you want about him, but he is one of very very few managers who gave young players a genuine chance, MULTIPLE times. What people said to him when he was at Man U was disgraceful, he got them to the CL and had a lot of injured players whilst doing so. Mind you, Man U was not the team of old, where you had so many good players that it didn't even matter if multiple people were injured. After LvG got sacked, Jose Mourinho comes to replace him, spending RIDICULOUS amounts of money on players like Pogba to accomplish less than he did. In comparison, look at what Klopp did for Liverpool prior to this season and it's a complete joke of a comparison (Klopp had no injury issues for ANY season, yet he had no notable accomplishments whatsoever). Sadly, I fear this greater than life image that Man U has created will also destroy them.
