He looks at things objectively, allowing the viewer to come to their own conclusions with all the facts at hand. Too many journalists these days go in with a bias mindset, and twist things to push their opinions on the viewer, and it's a disgrace to journalism. Even when Louis interviews people clearly in the wrong, who do things he clearly finds distasteful, he allows them to give their side, and asks unbiased questions. That's why he's so good. It's far more interesting to see into the minds of these people, see how they think, and why they do the things they do. It's a perspective that you can't get when you're pushing your views to the forefront.

I much prefer British interview shows. The interviewers allow the conversations to go where they want to, they allow the guests to speak without infuriating. I would recommend Grahm Norton as well, it’s more light hearted as well. These comedians do a great job interviewing without having to get kitschy. The only comparable US show I can think of is Hot Ones.

If there where more journalists like him, rather than people feeding us news and information twisted to suit their own agenda, the world would be a better place. Asking whether open relationships can work is like asking if traditional relationships can work. Many traditional relationships end. So you try again. Relationships can be pure hell. He's got the rare ability to put his personal views aside and take an objective approach, allowing the viewers to make their own decisions, and giving us a view into why these people thing think, and do the things the way they do. having only seen Russel be goofy on 8 out of ten cats, till now, i am so impressed with his questions....there is not an American t.v. interviewer that would ask such intellectually penetrating questions, not on late night, not ellen,. not oprah...well done..
