Yeah, I've been noticing those! He does a great job on those sound effects. It's kind of surprising because you never hear it mentioned. Like people talk about Chappelle's White-guy voice, etc.. I was wondering, like others here, if Louis works on them till he gets just the right effect.. He must. They're really good! So many different ones.

Thats how most of standup has been for several decades. How unique of a perspective you can have on a, usually controversial or unusual topic. Your perspective and outlook, is your style and your taste. His is rooted in a lot of nihilism, but a certain type of nihilism that's his own thing. I mean real, real nihilistic shit. Shocking. Not uncommon but his way of delivering it and his appearance and mannerisms are what makes it. And idk many stand up comedians as blatantly nihilistic as his. It's pretty casual. It's purposefully absurd, gross and a little arrogant or ignorant in a funny way. Analyzing things in backwards logic so its shocking and funny. But still technically makes sense. "The whole world is made up of people who didn't kill themselves today. You never have to do anything because you can kill yourself" "What about ISIS? Kill yourself. Then they'll never get ya" again backwards, nihilistic yet simple logic. A twisted funny and morbid perspective on a horrible and horrifying subject, but delivered in the most casual joking way. A guy whose old enough and seen enough to "see past the invisible lines" and break conventions. Beautiful comedy. It's really a way of filtering the worst aspects of human existence

Choosing to lean into life's absurdity n chaos, without apology, is a gift. Humor is to me the highest form of human reflection n discernment. If we cannot "fix" the mess (us, humanity), we can laff at our ineptitude. That makes us more human. Makes it OKAY to be human. CKL does it better than any of us.

Absolutely incredible how Louis managed to outline the philosophical debate around abortion. If we determine that was it is that is inside, is NOT a human being, then abortion is fully permissable. If not, it is murder and reprehensible as it would if the human was outside the womb. Then he moves on to explore the quality over quanitity of life argument: even most people living in the worst of conditions decide that life is something worth continuing.

The problem isn't that the fetus isn't human, it's undeniably human, also there are many things aren't human that we protect, like endangered species. Two of the problems that anti-choice people have is that they value the *potential* life of what's inside of a human uterus over the actual owner of said uterus and they want to grant said undeveloped human personhood, ironically not realizing the flaw in doing so. It's their body, they get to decided who or what gets to use it and for how long. Same for everyone else.

  • @whatwecalllife7034

@Michael Specifically how many weks we talking here? Because when you say "baby", that makes me think 7-9 months, or whenever enough anatomical features are developed. At that point I would agree with you and I would say they waited too long UNLESS there were health complications. However at, say, 4 weeks there is very little development. You wouldn't even recognize it as a human fetus if it wasn't inside a human uterus. The cells are alive, yet the cells have not formed a baby yet. Even IF I just flatly agree with what you said, that only bolsters what I previously stated in that a person has the right to dictate who or what gets to use their body and for how long. We should not make too many exceptions simply because the "what" happens to have human DNA.

No matter how much pain you’re experiencing right now, you’re not alone. Many of us have had suicidal thoughts at some point in our lives. Feeling suicidal is not a character defect, and it doesn’t mean that you are crazy, or weak, or flawed. It only means that you have more pain than you can cope with right now. But with time and support, you can overcome your problems and the pain and suicidal feelings will pass. Some of the finest, most admired, needed, and talented people have been where you are now. Many of us have thought about taking our own lives when we’ve felt overwhelmed by depression and devoid of all hope. But the pain of depression can be treated and hope can be renewed. No matter what your situation, there are people who need you, places where you can make a difference, and experiences that can remind you that life is worth living. It takes real courage to face death and step back from the brink. You can use that courage to face life, to learn coping skills for overcoming depression, and for finding the strength to keep going. Remember: Your emotions are not fixed-they are constantly changing. How you feel today may not be the same as how you felt yesterday or how you’ll feel tomorrow or next week. Your absence would create grief and anguish in the lives of friends and loved ones. There are many things you can still accomplish in your life. There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the ability to delight and lift you-and that you would miss. Your ability to experience pleasurable emotions is equal to your ability to experience distressing emotions
