Something wrong with your soul if this doesn't hit you somewhere, amazing.

Totally agree with you. I do appreciate his honesty. However, I don’t trust someone who isn’t moved by the meaning behind this song. Simple and powerful. Very emotional for me...played at my mother’s memorial service(wasn’t a dry eye in the room). This guy seems jaded. Either by the hate and division in this country or by that negative hip hop jive crap he listens to. Whatever the reason, I’m done and unsubscribed.

Not that the moron reacting to it has any idea...the moron said after the song was over "I thought Louis was white."!!! What is going on with America??
Pops, as he liked to be called, really saw the world through rose colored glasses. He was about love, and by the way, consider the time he was singing this song, and all that was happening with the civil rights movement, Vietnam, drugs, losing many of our musicians to such horrors as plane crashes, drug OD’s, despair, etc. And Louis Armstrong was the man most responsible for giving the world mainstream jazz, laughter and love. This song says everything about the Man! Thanks for a nice reaction from someone (you) who is too young to have lived this.

There's ALWAYS something going on. You can choose to focus on negative things you can't even control or you can focus on being positive and spreading that positivity in the hopes others can have a change of heart at key moments in their lives as well.
Man was a Legend... RIP Mr Armstrong ... Stay safe
Louis Armstrong laid the foundations of jazz in the 1920's and there he was landing a top ten hit four decades later in 1967. His music nearly always puts a smile on my face and when it doesn't that's because he's playing the blues and he would rather I shed a tear. For a taste of both check out his version of "St. Louis Blues" featuring Velma Middleton and then check out his version of "Mood Indigo."
Louie Armstrong!! The Great SACHMO!!🎺
Mr. Armstrong is iconic for Jazz. The New Orleans airport is named after this man.
Absolutely Great Song.... Listen to this many times growing up... Louis Armstrong can also play that trumpet... We talking jazz level

This was my son's lullaby song. Each of my children had their own lullaby song.
his stage presence is contagious, such a good mood song.
Best smile of any human….. ever!!!
He recorded this song in 1967 and died from a heart attack in 1971. I was 16 and it hit me because it really bummed my parents out and they were huge Big Band fans (WW2 era) and Louis was a helluva trumpet player too, and everyone always loved that gravelly voice! ☻☺
“Vive en rose” is another great song by Louis Armstrong

Did he really just say he didn't know Louis Armstrong how's a black guy? OMG. One of the all time true Legends in American music. That is stunning.
One amazing voice from Heaven. Absolutely a great song.
Life can be really hard, but when you hear that song........

One of my favorite songs of all time... thank you for reacting to it. I could listen to this over and over again. Just beautiful.
Stolen comment:he has lived to see world war 1 and world world 2 and the Jim Crow laws and still smiles and wrote a song about the wonderful world 🌍. What a legend
Mr Louie was a legendary trumpet man, singer , songwriter, and occasionally actor. This man was remarkable , and this song is legendary. His style and charisma were unequaled. You are doing a very good thing by visiting the music of the past and of different genres. It is good for you and your audience because it demonstrates that there was remarkable genius in music long before the days of Autotune and digital midi tracks. There's an old saying.."If you don't know where you've been ..you cannot possibly know where you're going" . Keep up the good stuff !
I decided to play trumpet in school bc of this man. RIP Mr Armstrong.
Nobody sang this like Louis Armstrong. That "Oh, yeah" at the end makes it his. He passed away in 1971 at the age of 69.
Astonishingly beautiful.🥰🥰
That song I soo beautiful, and touching you don't want it to end. Then it's over.
There will NEVER be another Louis Armstrong, a legend, one of a mind. God rest your soul "Satchmo"!
If you feel blue, listen to this song. If you feel alone, listen to this song. If you feel lost, listen to this song. Listen to this song, the message is timeless.
One of the greatest jazz artists of all time. And what an incredible trumpet player. In fact, Louis was one of the two greats who inspired me to pick up that instrument many years ago. God Bless!!!
Listen to the words and the passion... he knew his worth and is the role model of people with self belief 😢❤
No one will ever sing this song better! He put this song out the year I was born.
Loius Armstrong is a LEGEND.
This is magic.
Hits me in the feels everytime! What a legend ❤
This was one of his last great songs before he died in 1971, due do throat cancer on account of his smoking. So the song could be seen as a final goodbye reflecting on his life.
Trumpet player all his own as well . I grew up to him
I love Louis Armstrong “Satchmo”! This man is a legend! This song always makes me cry! He was mostly acknowledged for his Trumpet playing but I love his voice too! I love watching old movies with him in them like High Society in which he shares the screen with “crooners” Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby!❤️❤️
Great back up by his band.so simple but so elegant. This is the performance that should be shown above all.
One of those songs.....timeless!
Makes you feel happy.
No one played the coronet like the great Louis Armstrong!! Look for a song where he is playing. You would swear he's going to blow his cheek's out!! Them day's are gone.........
He has been through a lot. Pain in his eyes. But he has gone thru it. And he is Still smiling! Thats love for life. Take care. Greetings from Jonas, Gothenburg Sweden.
Louis Armstrong is a Jazz Icon and Legend and innovator
Staple song at Christmas in my home
Many Black activists in the ‘60s weren’t happy with Pops and let him know it in no uncertain terms. Armstrong lived up to his name and his message survives: We’re all in this together, and love and joy and thankfulness trump hatred, bitterness and spite.
That song really puts all in relation, the world IS wonderful !
It is just so sad how so many young have no contact with the Greats. ice to see you are exploring. Some of the best singing was 50-90 years ago...
I can't remember a time when I didn't know him or this beautiful song. Thanks.
Born in 1901.....he is so great. If you don't get feeling from this song, you are pretty hard boiled.
LOUIE!!!!~!
he makes you smile
What a legend.
Hell of a Trumpet player, too.
I think this is one of the greatest songs of all time. It makes me cry every time I hear it.
this song wasnt made by a back guy or a white guy or an asian guy, somehow Sach pulled the best outta everyone's soul and put that hope on paper. nothing will ever be written as pure and beautifu as this was
Nola guy. Love em.
Many have sang it, but Mr. Armstrong's version is a classic. No one sings it better than him.
World icon- jazz ambassador to the world. Genius trumpeter and vocalist. Play him and Ella Fitzgerald singing and scatting together. His version of “ Hello Dolly” was number one around the world.
Timeless gold
This = celebration = life
his face say it all he going in sing from the hart and soul nothing butt music gold hear
You should also try another wonderful song by the master "We have all the time in the world " from the James Bend movie, On Her Majesty s Secret Service
The world lost a great soul when he passed.
And this is why Talley of 300 in "Gummo" said "I'm blowing like Louis Armstrong or miles davis" cause they can kill the trumpet. #NoLimitNation
I said it before I'll say it again.....they guy is hot AF great reaction

I dont know how you never knew he was black :) But its wonderfull in a way... Greetings from The Netherlands!
Find out more about Louis Armstrong. Not only his ballads but his jazz and especially his duets, which spoke to and elevated the progress between the races. Try listening to his jazz rendition of "Don't Fence Me In" which is a country song; or, his duet with Trummy Young, "Ol' Rockin Chair"which speaks to the time of prohibition. Now that is going way back...but Louie's love for humanity can be felt and permeated our American way of life. And if you want to experience this effort for brotherly love a little later but still way back, try this by the Isley Brothers: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKN6rZiqZ86sabw.html
When you said I never knew this was a black guy I had to say "rly?" I hadn't ever seen a grown black man when I heard this but for some reason I always assumed, maybe it was the perspective maybe it was trumpet lol (I played trumpet in 6th grade) it was the cheapest instrument my mom could afford.
Perhaps you've heard by other artists -- Louie (I spell it that way b/c he pronounced its Loo-ee) -
One word. "Satchmo"
I can't believe how many black people have never heard of Louis Armstrong.
Need more of this goodness today. Dre and Cube ain't providing it. Know that.
Have an earful of Ball of Confusion by the Temptations...
Nat king Cole. Anything by him!!!
Give us a freestyle... lol

Background music covers your opening dialogue. Too bad cuz I'd of been interested in your comments.
lower the background music man, i cant hear you
You didn't know Louis Armstrong was Black?? There is a huge amount of history of Black music that you have missed out on if that is the case. Have you heard of Nat King Cole? The Mills Brothers? Lena Horne? Ella Fitzgerald? The dancing of the Nicholas Brothers? You've got a lot of catching up to do.

Karate kid
If you have never heard of the greatest trumpet player in history, there was something very wrong with your education. You need to do some research.
How do you not know he was a black man? sad
