What a great legend. Louis Armstrong was an American trumpeter & vocalist going back to the 20's-60's. His career spanned five decades & he is considered one of the most influential figures in jazz. He was known for his gravelly raspy deep voice & he was good at scat singing. Love his version of "Hello Dolly" from the movie with the same name starring Barbra Streisand in 1969.

I love your take on the song, because that is absolutely how I feel, no matter how many times I have heard it over the years. I am a retired RN and spent a good portion of my career taking care of cancer patients. It truly taught me how lucky we are to be alive. I really do appreciate every day and all the small things in life. As you said, just walk outside and take in all the nature around you, it is healing for the soul. ❤

Louis Armstrong is one of the giants of jazz. He was an incredible trumpet virtuoso who literally make his horn "speak." He revolutionized the art of jazz in the 1930s. (If you are interested in the history of jazz, I highly recommend watching Ken Burns' documentary series, "Jazz." )

It is beyond belief that young adults have never been educated on one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century. Louis Daniel Armstrong (August 4, 1901 - July 6, 1971), nicknamed "Satchmo", "Satch", and "Pops", was an American trumpeter and vocalist. He was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades and several eras in the history of jazz.[

Who is Louis Armstrong? Only the most important pop singer of the 20th century...and this century for that matter. Louis invented modern singing by interpreting the lyrics and making you feel what he's feeling while delivering the meaning behind the words. No one did that before him. He popularized and advanced the mode of scat singing, later perfected by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald. Louis also showed the world how performers should perform, dress onstage, and how to behave on and off the stage Aside from that Louis was the first superstar musician, the first innovative and first important jazz instrumentalist, and he is on the Mt. Rushmore of the great trumpet players of all time. In a nutshell, Louis is one of and perhaps the most important figure in the history of jazz and popular music. That's all.

He was the ultimate entertainer, and bringing joy to the human race was his soul purpose in life. You hit the nail on the head with this reaction! Louie

I used to listen to a radio show every week call 'The Ragtime Show', which played music from the 1890's to the 1920's. I became immersed in the music as if I was alive at that time, then I would hear Louis Armstrong for the first time playing with Kings Oliver's band, and, like the people at that time would say: "What was that?" I'm not a musician but I think what "that" was, was that Armstrong would play what he felt, he would improvise, instead of strictly playing the notes as written on paper.

There's good reason why the main airport in Louisana is called The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport!! This is the man who brought jazz to the masses - of all colors, which was quite an achievement in the deeply segregated world of more than 100 years ago now. He actually began his professional music career as a coronet (later, trumpet) player around 1918, while he was still a teen himself. Louis Armstrong (August 4, 1901 - July 6, 1971) was a musician all the rest looked up to, an entertainer everyone enjoyed, a man deeply beloved worldwide. Learn about him. Listen to his decades of great music. You'll love the journey!!

“What A Wonderful World” was released as a single in 1961. This TV performance took place in the 1960s. Louis Armstrong died of tuberculosis in 1971, at the age of 69. He was a very popular musician worldwide, and did a lot of traveling overseas as a goodwill ambassador for the United States. He most likely contracted this disease during one of his overseas tours. Here are three Louis Armstrong recordings that you should react to: “When You’re Smiling (The Whole World Smiles With You)” (1929 on Okeh Records, re-released in 1936 on Vocalion Records, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, and available for listening here on KZread), “Yellow Dog Blues” (1954, a cover of a W.C. Handy song), “Ole Miss Blues” (instrumental, 1954, and another cover of a W.C. Handy musical work, from what many regard as Louis Armstrong’s greatest album, “Louis Armstrong Plays W.C. Handy”. Armstrong and Handy are on the album’s cover photo, and is available on CD).

You can’t only see the sky or the clouds but you can hear the colors, that’s Greatness. Angelina Jordan has that same level of greatness with song at 8 yrs of age🌈🌥️🌲

The great Satchmo from days gone by. Satchmo was his nickname and one very talented jazz singer and trumpeter. Great reaction.

One of the greats! Louis Armstrong was a step above the others. Check him out in a duet with Bing Crosby called "That's Jazz" from the movie... High Society In this he not only sings with Bing, but shows off his talent on the trumpet.
