My dad one time tried to fix my PS2. It worked most of the time but sometimes it just wouldn't read a disc. He started working on it after dinner and I went to bed because it was late. Next day, wake up ready for breakfast and the whole PS2 is disassembled on the table. He felt so bad he took me for some mcdonlads breakfast, we swung by walmart and picked up a new PS2. "I'm not fixing this one, it'll be the last one." Well this last one outlived my dad.

Man, that makes me remember when my brother broke the rear derailer on his bike clean off trying to jump a log and how my dad tried his hardest to weld it back on but ended melting the whole frame in two. He ended up just buying my bro a new bike. At least he tried tho lol.

This is what I call "psychological surrealism." If it's not a term, it should be. What I mean by that is a scene that uses absurdism or surrealism to capture a psychological state in a way realism can't. This scene is not "realistic" in any traditional sense, but it exactly captures the frustration of a million similar situations.
