"Why isn't God on the news?" One of the most profound lines in any show I can think of. Some of you may tell me otherwise but there are so many elements at play here. 1. The innocence and yet authenticity of a child believing in God so simply that it's not even a question. 2. The stark reality of news and most media we look at not even feigning the possibility or belief that God is a part of our lives and maybe we should consider some universal being; some unifying spirit. 3. The irony of this being acted out based on a script written ahead of time, presumably by Louie himself; a comedian who pokes fun at the idea of God.

If you can't deal with that in university, how would you deal with it in the "real world"? It depends on your degree and what you want to do. If you don't care if you end up in a job where people are douches and stupid, and your chosen subjects in university can only be taught in a douchey or stupid way, then, no, it's not worth it. However, some jobs/occupations/careers you are more likely to end up with a better class of people, and it's worth going to university to work with those kinds of people. But you are also more likely to be taught and tutored by better people too.

5:33 I told the mermaid joke (?) to my work partner while in the middle of ripping out a kitchen. He stopped what he was doing, pulled his head out of a cupboard, and looked at me with this odd mix of furrowed brow confusion and deep thought. I swear we looked at each other at that moment for a good 8 seconds. Not a word was said. He just slowly turned back to what he was doing. I walked outside and burst into laughter. I should point out that my friend knew exactly what was going on, and played his reaction to perfection. To this day we haven't spoken of it. We both know that to do so would ruin the whole thing!

This is a show written from a parent, who in the show discards it, yet as a parent writing a show man it’s just a good capture of trying to understand your kid. I’m in this same situation as a parent. Rarely do shows just portray kids as kids and rarely do we as parents get to view kids, not ours, but how they are navigating life, questions, them not wanting something and as a parent you thinking well you have to do this. There are legit parent kid dinner conversations that get because you’ve had them. The last joke, that Jane says..she doesn’t have a punch but she just wants to have a joke and Louie laughs understanding she just wants to play along. As a parent you’ve heard that and you laugh not because there’s a joke but because she thought it was

You missed the point, I think. She said all of that as a distraction from whatever REALLY happened, which is likely that she got into an argument, was bullied, or something like that. He caught on to it and cut through it, so she sighed because it meant she would actually have to say what really happened, which is unpleasant to her.
