I Tried to See Louie Every Time He Would Perform in Chicago at Joe Seigals Jazz Show Case Theatre. He was Such a Phenomenal Drummer with a Awesome Technique. He was Such The Nicest Person on The Planet. Rest In Peace Louie. Thanks For The Memories Sir.

Obviously the remo. Even had a signature Model. I was in email with him not long before he died and he said nothing could touch his remo kits and snares

I personally think Louie's best and most artful solo was by far the one from 1967 when he played Bean Stalkin' with Coleman Hawkins at the London Philharmonic. Later on his solos were kind of boring, not as interesting as his early work from the 40s and 60s.
